In the last few years I have had tiny white bumps appear on the tip of my tongue and my tongue appears swollen. In the past I have taken benadryl and that has taken care of it. They seem to come more often now. I keep up on my teeth cleanings and fillings if needed. I also suffer now from hypothyroidism due to the irradation of my thyroid due to hyperthyroidism. Could that be the cause?

What concerns me is that one of the sub-epithelial lymphoid bumps (?) is on the mucousal piece that runs in front of my tonsils and I can feel it like something is stuck there touching my tongue. It is also a bit red there. I did show it to the doctor and he said it was nothing to worry about. Since I can feel it, I can't stop thinking about it. I can see it with a flashlight and there is one about 1/4th inch above it on the same piece of membrane.
I have these weird, raised, and various sized bumps on my tongue towards the back and on both sides of my tongue, on the lower half. My tongue feels swollen on both lower sides of my tongue towards the bottom... It is somewhat painful... Just very irritating. Please, someone tell me what is wrong!! I am a very paranoid person in nature and the slightest oddity of my body stresses me out. All I can say for sure is that these bumps are not normal and werent there in the past.
I noticed a cluster of bumps on the very back of my tongue. I only see them when i stick my tongue out very far. They are behind the "v" of papillae and just above the epiglottis (the thing that closes over the trachea. i dont know if thats the right term). Any ways, they dont hurt at all, but i just noticed them recently.... Anyone know what these are?
It felt like a popcorn husk stuck on the back of my tongue and when I looked I found the bumps. Just like you, a couple on one side and about twice as many on the other. No pain, they don't look ulcerated, just bumps. Also, like you, when I researched on the internet, it just scares you what you find. I'd love to hear what you found out about your's and if they have cleared up.

I have some red bumps on the back of my tongue an I don't know what they are. They don't hurt and they are grouped together. I noticed them a couple days ago and thought that I could have just burnt my tongue but not sure.

I have a question regarding a small lump which is inside my tongue. A few times per year I get the irritated bumps on top of my tongue (when I eat really acidic foods) but this is not what I'm referring to. I developed a bad sinus infection during the last week of November. I sought treatment and began antibiotics December 3rd. On the evening of December 4th my tongue suddenly hurt as if I had one of those "acid bumps".

I often get them on the under side of my tongue. I have a bump very similar to that on the roof of my mouth in the back.
I just ate garlic bread, so I'm wondering if these bumps can also occur on the roof of your mouth? I mean I literally just noticed it. It doesn't hurt though it does look a little red around the bump.
A few days ago I noticed severral bumps on my tongue spreading all the way back through my throat. They are slightly elevated and soft. It does not hurt to eat, however, the appearance is awful and I want them to disappear. I went to see the nurse practitioner and she said she's never seen anything like it before and that it might go away on its own. For the past 2 months now, every so often I have little white bumps (they look a little like cankers) that flare up on the tip of my tongue. On the same day evening i got some small bumps on my tip of the tongue . On the next day i got white tongue with fever of 99degree .I went to general doctor and got treatment . I was prescribed some medicine and mouth wash for 1 week. My fever was there for 4days with same 99degree on my undergoing treatment.My tongue also didnt get better . After closely to 2 weeks my white tongue increased .I have sore throat from day 15 to till date.After three weeks i went to STD SPECIALIST .
