I have these weird, raised, and various sized bumps on my Tongue towards the back and on both sides of my Tongue, on the lower half. My Tongue feels swollen on both lower sides of my Tongue towards the bottom... It is somewhat painful... Just very irritating. Please, someone tell me what is wrong!! I am a very paranoid person in nature and the slightest oddity of my body stresses me out. All I can say for sure is that these bumps are not normal and werent there in the past.

I have notice that i have abnormal red bumps on the right side bottom of my Tongue and or the exact bottom and the left side. I do smoke I'm just scraed and i want to know should i be worried.

I also noticed a few small circular bumps on the top and side of my Tongue. They are not exactly painful unless they are prodded but I'm concerned about what they may be? (i think they are just raised taste buds) I just noticed all these when me and my friends talked about oral herpes. Is this a sign of oral herpes or another STD. For the last couple days I've been getting little white bumps on my Tongue. My mom diagnosed them as canker sores. I've gotten them in the past, but usually only one and they last 2 -4 days max. I have a white bump on the left side of my Tongue. It appears and disappears. It actually looks like an overgrown taste bud.It is not painful,but rather bothersome because I can feel it in my mouth. Last night I took some nail clippers and tried to clip off the top of it. Blood was everywhere. After the thing clotted off, it turned pink like the rest of my Tongue. Hello there. I have this large bump on the right side of my Tongue. I've had this for over a year now. The dentist didn't seem to be too concerned about it. He did ask if it bothered me, but at the time it didn't. It's starting to bother me. I believe I'm aggrevating it in my sleep. Do you have a recommendation for removal? A couple of days ago I noticed that on both sides of my Tongue towards the back and curving over the sides there are several raised bumps. They are not painful. They are oddly very symetrical. If they were just on top then I would not worry but since they are kind of on the side I wanted to ask. I know this is not something that I have just always not seen. It must be recently that they have appeared. I do have have chronic allergies, eczema, and asthma.

I just noticed yesterday a little white bump on the side of my Tongue, and I am freaking out. I don't know what it is... I don't believe I ever had one before. It doesn't bother that much... The past few days I've noticed bumps on the back of my Tongue... they were just visible if I stuck my Tongue out far and didnt hurt or anything. But today, one of the bumps toward the left side just feels annoying. Like when a popcorn kernel gets stuck on the back of your Tongue... thats what it feels like. I tried using a toothbrush to kind of 'brush' it away, and it didnt work.

Then after about a week I got the same thing, only my were accompanied by swelling on left side of face (ear and just below), fever (100.1) and diarrhea for about a day. My Tongue now looks scalloped on the left side and earlier last week I saw a tiny white bump on the upper left side of my Tongue approximately one inch back in one of the scalloped areas. Most likely they are papilla, normal anatomy of your Tongue that get more visible as they dry out (stick your Tongue out). Go see a dentist if they still worry you.

It felt like a popcorn husk stuck on the back of my Tongue and when I looked I found the bumps. Just like you, a couple on one side and about twice as many on the other. No pain, they don't look ulcerated, just bumps. Also, like you, when I researched on the internet, it just scares you what you find. I'd love to hear what you found out about your's and if they have cleared up.

Hello, Not too long ago i noticed small red bumps along the sides of my Tongue with some cuts, they don't hurt though, but I'm really bothered and worried about it. What could they be? I have braces put on five months ago, but i don't think it has anything to do with that. I never really looked at my Tongue until recently, so I don't know if this is normal or not. Could this a symptom of HIV?? Help!

This is so overwhemingly common - yet no doctor will put this puzzle together - at least in my luck. After digging for 5 years - I strongly believe this is a side effect of thyroid medications. I lean towards this bieng an imbalance on PH levels within the body with some individuals. HAve you had any discomfort within the Tongue itself? Burning - swolleness of anything you can describe? Do you notice dry throat and thirst? Did you undergo RAI treatment after the TT?
