Three days ago, I noticed two large white bumps on the very back of my tongue. They hurt like heck, making it hard to swallow or talk. the only thing that releives it is ibuprophen. Could this be some forn of herpes? I have never suffered from cold sores or any other types of lesions on the front part of my mouth.

Morning, This is going to be a hard one for me to tell you, but I am only reflecting on my situation and everyone is different. I started with the "white tongue" no pain- but my tongue looked weird. I commented to my family all the time. Then the bumps started- then acid then the "burning" I hate to say, but I dealt with that for 2 years with our medical help. No one could help me. Then that is when I started checking on how I could get rid of it.
What surface of the tongue are they on? The top part of the tongue, or the underside? Look up pictures of "geographic tongue" because that occurs on the top part of the tongue. If it is on the bottom, it could be some canker sores because they occur on these spots. Either one, it would just be palliative treatment. Use some numbing gel - all your dentist will give you is, at most, a steroid rinse. See if it goes away within 7 days. If it doesn't, then go to your dentist.
I had relations with a woman and I was a little drunk and i do not use protencion and i do oral sex more lasting as 30 seconds... and barely knoe that Girl as a month leave me a white bumps in my tongue only hurt when I rub them on my tooth and they dissapear in three or four days and they apear in the side of my tongue ... and that hapend 4 months and ago... but nothing apear to be wrong wu\ith miy pennis its only on my tongue...
i also have little bumps on the back sides of my tongue again do not bother me at all. Also little bumps on the top of my tongue the whole tongue that do not bother me. (i think they are just raised taste buds) I just noticed all these when me and my friends talked about oral herpes. Is this a sign of oral herpes or another STD. I looked at the pictures and nothing looks like it but they are there constantly.
A few days ago I noticed severral bumps on my tongue spreading all the way back through my throat. They are slightly elevated and soft. It does not hurt to eat, however, the appearance is awful and I want them to disappear. I went to see the nurse practitioner and she said she's never seen anything like it before and that it might go away on its own. I didnt find this information overlly helpful, and was wondering if anyone had any idea what it could be.
the first thing that seemed stange and made me think of possible std infection was some weird bumps on the back of my tongue. there is a lot of them. but only in the rear. the part that isnt covered in bumps has been discolored with some sort of stuff. however, the stuff comes off. the bumps don't hurt at all. nothing really hurts. the other reason i am worried is because ive had a bad stomach ache. however, that is the only "flu like" symptom.
This is so overwhemingly common - yet no doctor will put this puzzle together - at least in my luck. After digging for 5 years - I strongly believe this is a side effect of thyroid medications. I lean towards this bieng an imbalance on PH levels within the body with some individuals. HAve you had any discomfort within the tongue itself? Burning - swolleness of anything you can describe? Do you notice dry throat and thirst? Did you undergo RAI treatment after the TT?
I have 4 small white raised bumps on the back of my tongue, and very small reddish ones towards tha back and middle. They dont irritate me or hurt, but they are kinda hard. I have rinsed w/ warm salt and water and have also used mouth wash. I noticed this about 2 days ago after burning my tongue with hot food. Ive done that before and I have never noticed anything like this. I am pregnant and I'm kinda scared. Do you know what this maybe?
For the last couple days I've been getting little white bumps on my tongue. My mom diagnosed them as canker sores. I've gotten them in the past, but usually only one and they last 2 -4 days max. At the beginning of the week I got one. I figured it would go away soon, so I ignored the pain and tried not to bite at it. Well, by the next morning there was another one and today there is another one. The first one started to go away a bit, but I'm worried I'm only going to get more.
It was really dry and my throat sort of hurt. Since then, now it has gotten better but I still have bumps on the back of my tongue. Now I must tell you, I was addicted to gobstoppers and sucked on them pretty much nonstop all day and through the night sometimes. Is it too much sugar that caused the bumps? Thanks.
I have some red bumps on the back of my tongue an I don't know what they are. They don't hurt and they are grouped together. I noticed them a couple days ago and thought that I could have just burnt my tongue but not sure.
The past few days I've noticed bumps on the back of my tongue... they were just visible if I stuck my tongue out far and didnt hurt or anything. But today, one of the bumps toward the left side just feels annoying. Like when a popcorn kernel gets stuck on the back of your tongue... thats what it feels like. I tried using a toothbrush to kind of 'brush' it away, and it didnt work.
I noticed a cluster of bumps on the very back of my tongue. I only see them when i stick my tongue out very far. They are behind the "v" of papillae and just above the epiglottis (the thing that closes over the trachea. i dont know if thats the right term). Any ways, they dont hurt at all, but i just noticed them recently.... Anyone know what these are?
i think they are from when i burnt my tongue but ive never noticed bumps before when i had burnt my tongue. the bumps dont hurt but it looks gross and i want to make sure this is normal.
This morning I woke up with several painful white bumps on my tongue. When I look at them in the mirror they look like an infected taste bud or something like that. Well, they have been giving me some really bad pain so i keep biting my tongue where they are just to try and get the pain to go away (obviously not smart). Later that day I come to find out that I have two more of these bumps on my tongue that hurt just as bad.
It felt like a popcorn husk stuck on the back of my tongue and when I looked I found the bumps. Just like you, a couple on one side and about twice as many on the other. No pain, they don't look ulcerated, just bumps. Also, like you, when I researched on the internet, it just scares you what you find. I'd love to hear what you found out about your's and if they have cleared up.
there are STD's that cause bumps on the tongue and what not, HIV is one not trying to say thats what you have, i also had the bumps on my tongue and had the HIV test but nothing showed up, the doctor said it was the toothpaste i was using and told me to get some certain kins which i didn't listen because most times i don't think doctors have any clue what's going on, but if you really want to know i can get that info for you.....
WILL NOT GO AWAY, MY TONGUE IS EVEN MORE SORE TODAY AND MY THROAT ALSO. I LOOKED UNDER MY TONGUE AND ON. BOTH SIDES. NEAR THE FRONT ARE BUMPS THE SIZE OF LARGE PEAS. SWOLLEN AND VERY SORE, ARE THESE LYMPH NODES? SHOULD I SEE A DOCTOR?
i started noticing pale pink bumps on the back of my tongue, the color is lighter than my tounge. they so not hurt at all, i do not even know they are there. Should i be worried. My father does not want me to go to a doctor, because he does not want me to take medication, should i go anyway?
For about a couple months now i keep noticing bumps on the back of my tongue, only in the rear though. It doesnt hurt when i swollow but my throat seems sore from time to time. I went to my doctor towards the beginning and she said nothing was wrong other than the fact that my tonsels are a little swollen. I'm a very paranoid person and always asking questions about this same problem noticing...is it anything bad?
