Common Questions and Answers about Bumps on tongue

bumps

Three days ago, I noticed two large white bumps on the very back of my tongue. They hurt like heck, making it hard to swallow or talk. the only thing that releives it is ibuprophen. Could this be some forn of herpes? I have never suffered from cold sores or any other types of lesions on the front part of my mouth.
I have these small bumps under my tongue that have little white centres but are painless I also have a large bump under the skin of my tongue on the floor and it hurts when I apply pressure to it, it's not visible the underside of my tongue is also whitish in color
But the other day I noticed for the first time on my tongue, these bumps on the back, I didn't notice any in my throat or on the roof of my mouth. There are different ones. Like the ones in the middle just look like little ones and the ones in the back are big, I took some pictures, I hope they will help. I have a pic in the other bulletin below Picture: http://s98.photobucket.com/albums/l273/maleficentmoon/?
the first thing that seemed stange and made me think of possible std infection was some weird bumps on the back of my tongue. there is a lot of them. but only in the rear. the part that isnt covered in bumps has been discolored with some sort of stuff. however, the stuff comes off. the bumps don't hurt at all. nothing really hurts. the other reason i am worried is because ive had a bad stomach ache. however, that is the only "flu like" symptom.
How do you get those bumps on the tongue ? What causes it? This discussion is related to weird bumps on tongue....
A few days ago I noticed severral bumps on my tongue spreading all the way back through my throat. They are slightly elevated and soft. It does not hurt to eat, however, the appearance is awful and I want them to disappear. I went to see the nurse practitioner and she said she's never seen anything like it before and that it might go away on its own. I didnt find this information overlly helpful, and was wondering if anyone had any idea what it could be.
My 16 month old is teething and I have noticed several white bumps on his tongue. He has been really fussy, will not eat much, and isn't sleeping well. Could you help me with what to do for the bumps... Thanks!
What surface of the tongue are they on? The top part of the tongue, or the underside? Look up pictures of "geographic tongue" because that occurs on the top part of the tongue. If it is on the bottom, it could be some canker sores because they occur on these spots. Either one, it would just be palliative treatment. Use some numbing gel - all your dentist will give you is, at most, a steroid rinse. See if it goes away within 7 days. If it doesn't, then go to your dentist.
This is so overwhemingly common - yet no doctor will put this puzzle together - at least in my luck. After digging for 5 years - I strongly believe this is a side effect of thyroid medications. I lean towards this bieng an imbalance on PH levels within the body with some individuals. HAve you had any discomfort within the tongue itself? Burning - swolleness of anything you can describe? Do you notice dry throat and thirst? Did you undergo RAI treatment after the TT?
Morning, This is going to be a hard one for me to tell you, but I am only reflecting on my situation and everyone is different. I started with the "white tongue" no pain- but my tongue looked weird. I commented to my family all the time. Then the bumps started- then acid then the "burning" I hate to say, but I dealt with that for 2 years with our medical help. No one could help me. Then that is when I started checking on how I could get rid of it.

I have had bumps on the base of my tongue on the lateral edge for some time. these bumps have white dots near them that expand into thing white rings. these bumps are most prominent at the base /back of my tongue. last year i went to my doc and told him i thought it was thrush, he didn't agree and told me it was nothing. at this time, i was tested for diabetes and hiv - both tests came back negative.

There are little white painfull bumps that i sometimes get on my tongue. they feel like being stung by a beer. They never bleed. They come and go. I seem to get them a lot when i eat acid foods, or when i'm really stressed out.Every time i'm about to go to the doctors for it they go away, so the doctor cant really do anything about it. But i have no clue what these little bumps could be.
I have white bumps under my tongue and on the side of my tongue they hurt and i have white sours on the inside of my cheek that hurt to can not really eat what can i do
It has now been a little over a year since I've had maybe 4-6 pink medium sized bumps on the back of my tongue. When I open my mouth wider, I can see all the way down to the WAY back of my throat tiny bumps all over. And I'm really scared. I noticed these bumps, a year ago and a couple days before I had unprotected intercourse, anal, and oral sex with someone. I'm not sure if that caused it or not, because I don't have any of these bumps on my vagina, or my anus.
i also have little bumps on the back sides of my tongue again do not bother me at all. Also little bumps on the top of my tongue the whole tongue that do not bother me. (i think they are just raised taste buds) I just noticed all these when me and my friends talked about oral herpes. Is this a sign of oral herpes or another STD. I looked at the pictures and nothing looks like it but they are there constantly.
I just tonight found several bumps that are aligned up on the back of my tongue. I have had a scratchy throat, and have been suffering from allergies lately, but have never noticed having these on my tongue in the past. Also, I couldn't find anything like it online. I'm wondering what it would or could be from, and if I should get it looked at?
I have noticed tiny white bumps on the tip and side of my tongue. However they are big enough to feel against my lips. The bumbs really hurt as if I had bitten my tongue. The bumps come and go. What could this be?
I have had these pink bumps on the back of my tongue (2x as big as a regular taste bud, same color) since the beginning of Nov 2008. I went to the doctor before, and I didn't tell him that I thought it was herpes, BUT i did tell him that I thought it was bacteria. And he gave me some pills for it, and it didn't help. I'm not sure what it is. On Oct 31st 2008 i had unprotected sex and oral, and there isn't any sort of herpes on my vagina, or in my anus. So I don't know what it can be.

I have had white blotchy spots and bumps on my tongue for probably over a month now. They are starting to get painful and I can't afford to go to a doctor. They're all over my tongue and mouth. At first I thought it might be thrush so I have been drinking cranberry juice and eating yogurt. It seems to go away but as soon as i stop doing anything it comes right back.
