Common Questions and Answers about Bumps on skin under tongue

bump

I have these small bumps under my tongue that have little white centres but are painless I also have a large bump under the skin of my tongue on the floor and it hurts when I apply pressure to it, it's not visible the underside of my tongue is also whitish in color
One of them along the side of my tongue rubbed against my tooth and caused a small chunk of skin on my tongue to open up and caused me some pain and irritation, and then went away. When I first noticed these mouth bumps, I was also experiencing symptoms such as a cough, sore throat, and other flu-like symptoms which may or may not be related. I saw a doctor for the bumps and he said he thought that I had the coxsackie virus.
My mother is having a similar issue. I too think your "bumps" might be "Tori." I found a great website that was extremely informative. It is www.doctorspiller.com look under "sores, lumps & bumps." You might not have found info under Tori because the med name is: Torus Mandibularis. Hope this helps...until I found this website, I was a bit freaked out when my mother asked me to look into her mouth!
The next day I noticed small red bumps around my penis close to the head going about 75% around the shaft as well as bumps around the base of the head of my penis and a reddish change in color on the head that comes and goes. The bumps are whitish/reddish/skin colored. I went to the hospital 2 weeks after the initial contact and asked the doctor and he said it is not herpes. I feel though that he would need a real test to be sure.
I questioned him if this could have been caused when I bit a Triscuit cracker wrong and it went under that side of my tongue and poked me quite badly. I had to remove it with my finger! He said we'd just be guessing. He did reassure me that he isn't concerned about cancer (I'm a terrible worrier since colon cancer and a met to my liver three years later) with a clear full body PET scan three weeks ago. There is also no redness, ulceration or any external signs of the bump.
It is an awful thing to 'have to put up with' I also have ulcers on the back of my tongue and roof of my mouth, this cannot be normal.
I tested clear of Chlymdia and Gonarreah (excuse the spelling) I also have a few very very thin skin bumps that look like skin tags under my tongue. could this be HPV in the mouth? I have an appointment to go to the STD clinic in a week and also have an appointment with a Care Station Doctor. I have had no symptoms in the genital area other than itching that the Gyno said was due to yeast or fungal infection.
I noticed a small white spot on the side of my tongue, about halfway between the tip & base of the tongue. It appears to be under the skin, unlike any canker sore I have ever had. There is some pain that is similar to a canker, but not as prevalent. If I run my finger over it, I can feel that it is slightly raised, but (again) not as much as a canker. I've attached a photo. It is kind of hard to see, but this is the best I could get. Thank you for any information.
I keep getting these small bumps that can only be felt by my tongue. They are under my tongue in the corners at the base of the gums and on the inside of my "Lower" lip. The worry is that it is some sort of cancer. I was a closet smoker (one pack a week or less) over the years, on and off, and occasionally burned a little reefer. If I put some rubbing alcohol on in it go away like magic but the skin feels a little puckered afterwords, that doesn't bother me.
Three days ago I started feeling like whatever this was is now in my skin (I'm certain of it), It's under the skin on my face, my scalp, my back, my toes, and my feet. I can feel it crawling in and out of my anus at times also. Went to the dermatoligist today and of couse he says it's my imagination, some people get it. He's subscribed me some DEXEPIN for depression. :( Funny thing is I'm not depressed, my life was quite good until this bug showed up.
Mucocele Growth A mucocele growth occurs when there is a leak or split in the salivary glands thus causing the saliva to leak and gather in a white air sac under the tongue, that may sometimes be painful. These bumps on tongue that hurt can also be formed under it. Solution Even though the body tries to correct this ailment by itself, sometimes the duct may continue to leak and therefore not be corrected by itself.
One common cause for white bumps on tongue is yeast infection. In this condition white bumps may appear more like white patches that are painful when touched. White little bumps can also be caused by an inflammatory condition called oral lichen planus. The best treatment for this bump on the side of your tongue depends on the underlying cause of this problem. If it is due to inflamed papillae and lichen planus it may heal on its own otherwise you may need antibiotics or oral antifungal agents.
Upon further inspection, I realized that I had some irregular red bumps spread under my tongue, on my mouth floor on both sides under my tongue. I also found two of these bumps under my tongue near the frenulum. The next day, the white spot on my frenulum and the pain disappeared. . However, the red bumps are still there and I have a really minor gum pain. They are not painful and do not cause any discomfort.
The little bumps on the inside of your lip may be Fordyce's Granules, which are small sweat glands that are misplaced and are in the lips and cheek area instead of on the skin. But I'm assuming that these bumps were present before and that you just started to notice them now due to the other bumps on the corner of your lip.
Usually they can be seen on the tongue, inside the cheeks, on the inside of lips, under the tongue, and in the back of the throat. I suggest you to get an examination done from your doctor and get a KOH examination of the scrapings done of these white coatings. Nystatin (Mycostatin) liquid is used by swishing a bit in your mouth several times a day and then swallowing the medicine. Throat lozenges called Mycelex trouches can also be used.
I have been experiencing the same sore tongue problem on and off, I am on week 14 of interferon/riba. I find if I am able to bush my teeth right after eating it makes a difference, if I don't it flairs up. I just started using biotene toothpaste and so far my mouth seems happier. Rinsing with baking soda/water 3 to 4 times a day seems soothing and provides some relief, I read that it can help with thrush.
Man am I glad to see other people with tongue problems. I have had pain on the side of my tongue for nearly 1.5 years - both on the left side and the right side. I have talked to two general MD's, one ENT, and two dentists about it and nobody can seem to give me a clue as to what's wrong. The left side of my tongue always seems sensitive. It seems to be foliate pappitis to me but what do I know. I do know that I have cut wayyyy back on sugar (about 90%) and things have improved.
And my tongue swells randomly when it rains and under my tongue tends to swell as well. I take zyrtec everynight but it does'nt seem to ward off these horribe sinus infections. I even have to use an inhaler the first few days of the sinus infection. I try to be healthy but I keep getting them.Im only a junior now but I cant deal with these infections anymore.
I have recently discovered what seem to be a few small, almost tiny cyst like bumps under the skin in my lower lip on the inside of my mouth. I can feel them when I run my tongue or fingers over them. What are these? Should I be worried. I have used chewing tobacco for only about the past six months.

Yes pimples on my back side of both side of tongue just below the taste buds, and under one back side small flat pimples, all these are pain less.
To small skin coloured bumps have come up on my thumbs and they are really itchy will they go eventually?
Besides for the blister style bumps, I have traditional dry skin eczema on my thighs and back of arms. These are bumps and itchy with major dry patches but without liquid. That problem Eucerin or any fragrance-free, potent, extreme dry skin or itch relief lotion helps. You do have to be diligent in applying often and it helps to apply RIGHT out of the shower so that your body does not dry out and absorbs the moisture while your pores are still open.
I'm also 18 and have the same thing i have no idea what it is, its like little tiny bumps on both sides on the labia minotra that is the same color as the rest of my skin and they don't hurt the skin feels kinda of ruff when you touch it. I don't know what it is or how i got it.... maybe its skin irratation or skin tags???
Your test PROVES you do not have HIV, Your bumps are likely dur to razor use on the skin.
They are near perfectly round. They do not hurt and no discoloration of the skin. Occasionally my ear aches just a little on that side. The reason I now question it, is: 1) occasionally I have tongue discomfort on the right side and underneath it 2) occasionally my thyroid is tender on that very same side. I do have elevated TgAbs (thyroid) but am not on treatment due to doctors thinking a TSH value of 3.70 doesn't warrant treatment. (Others would disagree but I am not their patient.
Finger-like projections on the surface of the tongue (papillae) may be lost, causing the tongue to appear smooth. Tongue color changes (usually dark "beefy" red). Some Causes: Poor hydration and low saliva in the mouth may allow bacteria to grow more readily. Disorders such as iron deficiency anemia, pernicious anemia and other B-vitamin deficiencies.
