Bumps on skin that come and go

Common Questions and Answers about Bumps on skin that come and go

Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications. Treatment is by oral antihistamines.
Dec I had chicken pox but they went away and in jan until now I have strange itchy bumps and sometimes welt bumps that comes and go away an some lady said dryskin bumps an gave me triamcinolone acetonide cream that didn't work but made me itchy more an the man who own the place I told him,he look at me like I was crazy,I don't know what these strange bumps/welt that come and go are
I may add that the bumps on the (outer) leg that you see hurt like tiny tiny pimples you would get anywhere that are to small to pop yet i can squeeze like crazy and nothing but oil secretions from the skin comes out nothing more,
They're probably folliculitis (blocked pores.) These come and go and don't amount to much. They get redder if your body heats up, because that makes more blood flow to the skin. Unless they change character or spread, I'd ignore 'em. Best. Dr.
I'm going through the same thing...little bumps that resemble pimples, but aren't - and they come primarily in pairs. It's getting worse for me, and I've been to my PCP twice, the Dermatologist once, and been prescribed lotions and creams that don't work. (Not only did they not work, I had an EXTREME allergic reaction to two of the creams, that almost landed me at the ER!!!) I'm beyond frustrated by all of this. I've had "sensitive skin" my whole life, but this bump bit is new.
what cause this problem/how can i treat it. the bumps are small, and are mostly on my elbows and hand top. some has water inside them and are flat looking.
Was this your family Dr you saw? If so, I recommend you see a dermatologist.
I have had itchy bumps on my skin for the past five months. They started with just one bump and have continued to spread. They are mostly confined to my back and chest, however I have some on my arms and legs. The bumps are not red and are not noticable when they start itching. The bumps will eventually go away. I have seen four doctors and none have helped my problem. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.

About two weeks ago I started getting small red bumps on my back and upper arms (and a couple on my chest). Some look like tiny pimples and some are just small bumps (some days just a few some days about a dozen). I put Neosporin on them and they seem to go away in 1-2 days...but more appear. I went to my dermatologist and he laughed and wondered why I was there at all (not the response I was hoping for). He said he did not think it was anything serious and ruled-out shingles.
okay about 2 months ago i stated to notice i had some bumps in between my vagina and my anus and a skin tag on my inner thigh about two inches away from my vagina and the bumps are very little and you cant see them you can only feel them and none of it hurts and i thought it was maybe herpes but ive been perfectly fine and it say that they will pop and a scab will come but the skin tag jsut stays there and i have no clue what it is or the bumps and im scared that it could be herpes..
So, recently I've noticed random red bumps on my skin. The first cluster was below one of my breasts, and then I started noticing more around my stomach (except these weren't clusters) and on my chest. Today, I've noticed about three clusters of raised bumps on my arms. It looks like a bug bite, but after looking more closely I can tell that these are clusters of bumps on my arms. I tried popping one to see what would happen, and a water substance came out.
My daughter has a significant amount of bumps under her skin on her head and down her jaw. When you run your knuckle on them they move. When they are big or there are a lot of them she gets a really bad headache. Her Chiari surgeon does not have anyone else with them so I am asking if any of you do. He thinks they may be blood vessels. She had surgery in Oct 09 and has been feeling much better but the "head poppies" as we call them seem to be getting worse.
hi, i have had this rash where my buttocks & my labia majora meet. its been over a month & a half, it itches pretty bad & these bumps rise. i put on anti itch cream & that seems to help, they go away for a day then they come back. i have been tested for HSV & the test results have come back negative. the bumps rise with no blisters, they go away but the very next day when ever i scratch them they rise again. there are no blisters, scabbing.
I seem to get a rash which occurs only in the morning last for at least 30 to 40 minutes then goes down when it goes down its interesting because I have white rings on the legs not that prominant on legs but I get these sort or irregular bumps in no particular pattern on my lower legs and thighs dotted around they seem to be under the skin and the only thing I have had over a while is thrush that didn't seem to go away because I was treated with about 8 courses of antibiotics if anyone could s
skin absorbs water on prolonged exposure, which can make minor variations in skin texture more prominent than otherwise -- the same reason the skin of your fingers wrinkles when wet for a long time. Warts do not come and go, and almost always are obvious on direct examination. As for herpes, that there was a sense of "irritation" is consistent with that -- but the lack of blistering or open sores, and the rapid return to normal, are against it.
plus the bumps are starting to apper towards the middle of the bottom part of my shaft thay are the same color as my skin. (they dont go away and come back), the bumps are constantly there but become real noticable and start to itch after I've tampered with them (like after i masterbate). and i have been noticing the bottom part of my penis shaft is starting to stick to my scrotem all the time, even when im not sweaty or hot.
Hi my name is Jenny, i have bumps thats been on my skin for years now on my vaginal area.. It looks like its under the skin so they wont go away... Its so many of them, they sometimes get big then back small again, then i get active ones that bleed with puss.. But the ones thats been there for years i would like gone.. Is there any help or advice?!
It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs. Permethrin and oral ivermectin are the treatment options of scabies. Sometimes there may be recurrent and chronic cases which may require oral treatment of ivermectin.
It is contagious as the name implies and can last up to about 2 years if not treated. bumps are usually on the buttocks and inner thigh in adults and children can get it and transmit it too. I hope this helps. I would head for the dermatologist!
On the other hand my son had a yeast infection on his skin that caused bumps on his shoulders once. It was treated with a prescribed ointment and went away. Most likely the skin colored bumps are nothing to worry about but it's always best to consult a doctor if you're concerned.
I don't know if this is related, but I've also had some little bumps on my face that actually start off as pimples and do pop, but remain a small bump for several weeks before it goes away. What could this be? A cyst of some sort? Thank you in advance for your response.
I have red streaks, bumps, and rash that burn, sting and itch and go away in 20-60 minutes. Some times there is a tiny dark spot by the area and when I wipe it away the sensation subsides seemingly faster. I had one scabies Test early on which was negative. This has been going on for four months now. I tried borax and tea tree oil bath and washed bedding daily. These area area all over my body, they seem worse in the am and later afternoon evening. I am miserable and don't know what to do.
I now have the red itchy bumps all over my body excluding my genital area and face but they are starting to appear on my neck and I worry they will soon be on my face. The bumps do not go away, they turn into scabs or dry flakey spots and itch/burn now. I've changed nearly everything I use soap wise, which did not help. I've noticed that scratching only make's them worse and they swell up like a mosquito bite, but they itch so bad it's hard not to, and after showering is the absolute worst.
not blisters, just tiny bumps that come and go as they please..and they itch like crazy..they are on my back, my hands, my fingers just any place. Its not a group of them, it can be only 1 bump. It is just making my skin itch like crazy especially on my back...Not sure what is it. It has been over a week with this symptom.
