symbicort

Avatar f tn In patients with mild COPD who continue smoking, the use of inhaled budesonide is associated with a small one-time improvement in lung function but does not appreciably affect the long-term progressive decline." As you probably known Symbicort contain budesonide. If you dig up some additional info or come to some conclusion, please let me know and I'll do the same.
Avatar f tn So we will see how that goes. She was tested earlier in the year for the basic allergies like to cats, dogs, eggs etc and they all came back negative. Maybe I will have her tested again.
Avatar n tn My confusion is even if i use these 3 medicines (Ventloin, Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC) why my throat tightness remains to some degree. Does throat tightness(without wheezing)happens from asthma . When having throat tightness a small amount of white mucus always comes. Why steroid inhaler is not working as expected(But Ventolin is working to a great extent).
Avatar m tn It has helped immersely for my allergies and greatly reduces the time it takes for me to get through a sinus cold. I use the neli-med system that is available in co-op and walmart. It also has convientate packs for the saline rinse so you don't have to measure out the proper concentrations. Also have you tried any nasal steroid sprays? They are suppose to have less side effects.
Avatar f tn Allergies to medications should be limitated to certain drugs or ones that work very similarly. There should be other inhaled steroids (same use as budesonide) that you should be able to safely use. Another possibility is singulair if the asthma is allergy based. I would get a different doctor or request a referral to a respiralogist. Asthma is a combination of muscle spasms (the attacks) and chronic inflammation in the lungs.
Avatar f tn Budesonide is the generic name, i am on Entocort with contains budesonide, because budesonide is not sold generically in the state of new jersey. I have been on it for about 3 months now, but I was also on it for quite awhile a few years ago. I have never had anything but success with it. there are no side effects. I will be on it for another 2 months and my dr plans to take me off of it.
17080824 tn?1453552185 If your symptoms began after your started Budesonide, is worse after you use it then that may be a cause as its a steroid and some people have strange reactions to steroids. However if you had the symptoms before you started the medication its not likely a cause.
Avatar f tn s losing weight, but this morning there was poop in his crate as usual. I have 8 dogs in my beautiful kennel which has radiant heating in the floor, ceiling fans...They are let out into a LARGE fence in area usually every 4 hrs, no more than 6. They are fed and let out at 5:30 in the morning and final turnout is usually 10-11 PM. All the others have no problem whatsoever. I want to feed him twice a day, to maintain his weight, is there another food I could try for less volume?
Avatar f tn I had a month or so on Entecort (budesonide here in England) but had a severe rectal haemorrhage and was hospitalised on IV steroids and needed blood transfusions. I don't think my gastro in England, who prescribed it, at the time realised that Entecort only works in the small intestine, and I had Pan Crohn's Colitis. As I had stopped prednisone to go onto budesonide, I had no protection in the colon, hence the flare.
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar m tn Hi granma, Your cat may also need some medication for her IBS. My cat takes Budesonide in liquid form everyday. She has the other problem of constipation, but I give her miralax. Ask your vet if the Budesonide would be indicated for this condition...I think she sounds like it is pancreatitis or Irritable Bowel. Fairly common in cats. My cat is also on Hills Z/D food only. I know some do not favor this food but it works for my cat along with the Busesonide....so I am a believer.
Avatar n tn The leaking does occur when hemorrhoids are acting up sometimes. Use a panty liner positioned farther back and also you can stuff a cotton ball in the crack to catch fluid. Remove them rather than flushing them. Neem soap may help the skin recover from this. Use antifungal cream if the skin gets thick and dark from staying moist, but apply it to freshly cleansed and dry skin. Pat to dry rather than rough wiping of the irritated skin. Try Sitz baths. Avoid sitting for long if possible.
Avatar n tn Over that period I have tried different combinations of Prednisolone, Budesonide, Salazopyrin, Singulair and Colpermin, all with limited success. Presently, I am taking Budesonide (9mg daily) and Salazopyrin (150mg daily). Whilst this allows me to function normally (i.e. normal bowel movements) I have discomfort, bloating and cramping all day, every day. Has anybody ever come through this disease to lead a normal life, or has anyone treated a patient that has done so?
Avatar m tn Hi, I have a daughter with EE, she was diagnosed 3 years ago, she is 9 now and she been on Singluar for the last 3 years which has helped a lot and there are no side effects (especially no agression). We are just starting to have problems again now and we are off to the Gastro again in a couple of weeks, but the Singluar was a great drug for her.
Avatar f tn s flare, severe nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss of 18 lbs in last 6 weeks, steatorrhea, pain in mid chest and right upper quadrant. Had CT scan 2 weeks ago which showed significant inflammation in terminal ileum and old pancreatitis with calcification. Gastroscopy last week showed oesphagitis.Biopsies taken. MRI scan Nov 2007 showed two strictures in small intestine. Gastro has advised following until I see him in clinic 23 July: Double my mtx injections to 25 mg weekly.
1831920 tn?1320857757 I suggest you look up some articles on crate training and have your husband read them. We are not talking in humane crating here. He probably has visions if puppy mill dogs. Many of us here are experienced and "humane" dog people. Dogs are basically den animals. All my dogs have usually gone in their crates on their own to nap, my little one is in her crate now. I leave the door open. If your dog is ill or injured, the crate comes in handy.
Avatar n tn As you know the clinical trials of Pulmicort Flexhaler® (budesonide inhalation powder) were performed on children age 6 and above. Since we know the medicine is safe for use in very young children from Pulmicort Respules™ (budesonide inhalation suspension) the most likely reason they chose 6 and above was because many children less than age 6 would not be able to use this delivery device effectively.
Avatar n tn Have the docs suggested the use of a steroid such as budesonide for awhile to see if it can tamp down the symptoms? You also need to worry about taking things such as vitamins and any other pills, so you may want to discontinue them until you can tamp down her digestive response. EE can be very difficult to treat. I'm sorry to hear your daughter is experiencing the problem.
612551 tn?1450022175 like myself who is also a (human) medical technician (nurse) said that he has had success with Benadryl Topical liquid on his dogs. I know the fact that it is safe/recommended for human use is not proof it is safe or effective on dogs. Still I'd like to give it a try. On the ears there is no way he can lick/ingest the stuff, on the feet he may get some ingested and perhaps that is a different issue.
Avatar m tn t be coming from the phenobarbital. The usual side effects in canines from phenobarbital use are lethargy, polydipsia (increased thirst), polyuria (increased urination), polyphagia (increased appetite), anxiety and weight gain. From the symptoms I think your vet is probably right on the money with the diagnosis of a mass in the brain, but I doubt that the tremors signify pain because you said they are of short duration.
