Avatar n tn Luckily, my pharmacist caught my allergy to methylprednisolone and told me it was the steroid used in budesonide. I wish you good health and I hoped this information helped.
Avatar n tn Does Symbicort 80/4.5 (budesonide 80 mcg and formoterol fumarate dihydrate 4.5 mcg) Inhalation Aerosol effect the eyes? Does it raise the interocular pressure if used with known glaucoma? Avatar n tn I have a dog with IBD and he takes a compounded steroid called Budesonide everyday plus an enzyme supplement called Prozyme and stays on a strict diet of a fish and pot dry kibble. He still flares up every few months with bloody diarrhea which then we start up sulfasalazine 3 times a day which usually calms things down within a few days and after a week or 2 he's back on track.
17080824 tn?1453552185 t take any form of drugs. and do not smoke, do not drink and I am a vegetarian. Yes I am inhaling Budesonide Powder to tackle with chronic cough issue. Is it the reason then ? Thank you doctor for your reply and suggestion.
Avatar f tn I am concerned about taking mtx and budesonide concurrently as I had steroid induced psychosis when dx with breast cancer Jan 2003. He said I have some serious decisions to make about resection of strictures but need to put on some weight beforehand. Do you think this treatment plan is correct? Was dx with Crohn's 1970, now PanCrohn's Colitis. I am also taking Aromasin for bc.
Avatar m tn I am 65 years old and suffer from hereditary bronchial asthma. I take an oral steroid - 8.5 mg per day - supplemented by ceretide(similar to advair) 500 - 2 puffs in the morn and 1 at night - and budesonide 160 micrograms - 2 puffs once a day. The thing with oral steroids is that the get absorbed in the body and have been adversely affecting me. I need to get off it, but every time I try to reduce the dosage my asthma tends to get worse. Can anyone offer me any advice regarding this matter?
Avatar f tn I had a month or so on Entecort (budesonide here in England) but had a severe rectal haemorrhage and was hospitalised on IV steroids and needed blood transfusions. I don't think my gastro in England, who prescribed it, at the time realised that Entecort only works in the small intestine, and I had Pan Crohn's Colitis. As I had stopped prednisone to go onto budesonide, I had no protection in the colon, hence the flare.
Avatar m tn I have had an ongoing sinus infection for over 5 years. Under the care of different doctors, I have been prescribed different antibiotics which have had limited success. The infection always returns once the prescription ended. My symptoms start with front and post nasal drip which is a reddish color, and sinus pressure.
Avatar f tn My husband just got diagnosed with emphysema and sent home with steroid inhalers and no instructions on what to do with them. Or even which one to use when. All he knows is not to take both at the same time. And he is already skipping doses because he doesn't know if there is a need. Its Advair and Symbicort. I am hoping they will send him to a pulmonologist who might be more forth coming with info. He probably just has a mild case and I'd like to keep it that way.
Avatar f tn Montelukast (a so called anti-leukotriene drug), Budesonide an inhaled steroid, Formoterol as you state, a long acting beta agonist –bronchodilator drug. Any qualified/certified pharmacist should be able to associate the preceding drug names with the local commercial name of the drug.
Avatar n tn As you know the clinical trials of Pulmicort Flexhaler® (budesonide inhalation powder) were performed on children age 6 and above. Since we know the medicine is safe for use in very young children from Pulmicort Respules™ (budesonide inhalation suspension) the most likely reason they chose 6 and above was because many children less than age 6 would not be able to use this delivery device effectively.
Avatar m tn I finally gace in to Budesonide (a artificial steroid) because nothing was working--This has been the answer for my Mia. I know I may be causing her an early death from steroid complications, but she will go out having a pain-free happy playful life. She was just miserable before this.
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar f tn Budesonide is the generic name, i am on Entocort with contains budesonide, because budesonide is not sold generically in the state of new jersey. I have been on it for about 3 months now, but I was also on it for quite awhile a few years ago. I have never had anything but success with it. there are no side effects. I will be on it for another 2 months and my dr plans to take me off of it.
Avatar n tn A similar drug, Formoterol (Combined with the inhaled steroid, Budesonide, in the drug Symbicort) while in the same class, might not have the same properties and perhaps might not exhibit the same cardiac stimulatory effect as Serevent. You might want to discuss this with your doctor. Another approach might be to avoid these two combination drugs, Advair and Symbicort, and substitute individual inhalert for each of the two drugs (the inhaled steroid and the beta-agonist).
Avatar n tn You and he/she will have to resort to other preparations, to include a different inhaled steroid, such as Flovent® HFA Inhalation Aerosol (fluticasone propionate), either alone or in combination with a long-acting bronchodilator, like Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) or Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder), such a combination being either Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol or Symbicort® (budesonide/formoterol fumarat
Avatar n tn Have the docs suggested the use of a steroid such as budesonide for awhile to see if it can tamp down the symptoms? You also need to worry about taking things such as vitamins and any other pills, so you may want to discontinue them until you can tamp down her digestive response. EE can be very difficult to treat. I'm sorry to hear your daughter is experiencing the problem.
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
Avatar n tn Over that period I have tried different combinations of Prednisolone, Budesonide, Salazopyrin, Singulair and Colpermin, all with limited success. Presently, I am taking Budesonide (9mg daily) and Salazopyrin (150mg daily). Whilst this allows me to function normally (i.e. normal bowel movements) I have discomfort, bloating and cramping all day, every day. Has anybody ever come through this disease to lead a normal life, or has anyone treated a patient that has done so?
Avatar m tn Topical zinc oxide cream like Sudocrem, Desitin are very helpful(apply with a paper towel and not directly with hands).Application of mild steroid cream like dermacort also helps. For the itching pls take some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then antifungals may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case. I hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar m tn Formonide is a combination drug – an inhaled steroid anti-inflammatory drug plus a long-acting bronchodilator: Budesonide and Formoteral Your spirometry results demonstrate reversible obstruction of air flow. That is improvement of airflow on the post-bronchodilator exam and decided improvement after two weeks of therapy. At age 22, the most likely diagnoses are asthma and (smoking induced) bronchitis, the two diagnoses not unrelated.
Avatar n tn He has been on budesonide for 4 weeks with no results. He also takes esomeprazole with no results. When she did the cameraoscopy she saw what she called white fuzz at the beginning of lower intestines. We did a round of fungal meds. No results. Can anyone help please.
Avatar m tn Hi granma, Your cat may also need some medication for her IBS. My cat takes Budesonide in liquid form everyday. She has the other problem of constipation, but I give her miralax. Ask your vet if the Budesonide would be indicated for this condition...I think she sounds like it is pancreatitis or Irritable Bowel. Fairly common in cats. My cat is also on Hills Z/D food only. I know some do not favor this food but it works for my cat along with the Busesonide....so I am a believer.
Avatar f tn He or she may recommend over-the-counter medications such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Claritin (loratadine), or prescription medicines such as a daily nasal steroid, such as Flonase (fluticasone), Rhinocort AQ (budesonide), Nasonex (mometasone furoate), or Beconase (beclomethasone), or a leukotriene inhibitor, such as Singulair (montelukast sodium).
1137036 tn?1263515995 What do you think, is it likely the sinus infection moved to my ear tubes, should I try prednisone or steroid nose spray or both? Any ideas, other thoughts? It is difficult to explain all this to the Thai doctor with the language differences, but I will tell him for sure about the throat clearing that started 3 months ago and ear pain now.
