Avatar n tn I've had asthma since I was 10 yrs old, I'm now 27. I've played soccer since I was a kid and never had any serious issues. About 2 yrs ago I had a real bad cold/sinus infection and ended up in the ER because of my asthma. Ever since then, I have not been able to get my asthma under control. I've been prescribed almost everything you can think of, steroids, albuterol, xopenex (inhaler and inhalation solution), budesonide, mucinex and that's just for my asthma.
Avatar n tn Hi i am having throat tightness everyday for 15 years. I am regularly using Ventloin, Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. The only problem is breathlessness arising from throat tightness. I never wheeze in the life. The throat tightness is getting reduced when i take Ventolin. The doctor say i don't have to take ventolin beacause Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. will prevent the difficulty. But only medicines which seems to be working is Ventolin and Motelukast+LC.
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
Avatar n tn Right now he is taking Flovent in an inhaler two puffs twice a day, fluticasone nasal spray (he has bad aeroallergens), metoclopramide before eating (it's an antiemetic too and helps with gastric emptying), plus, as my son has really bad GERD symptoms (acid reflux) he also takes omeprazole (either 20 or 40 mg depending how bad/good it is that day) in the morning before eating as well. At night he takes aciphex.
Avatar f tn Go over ingredients in your nasal inhaler with your dr. There may be things added that aren't safe for the baby. I had to change my face lotion because of an added ingredient that can cause birth defects.
Avatar f tn It may seem like a bother right now but so is carrying an oxygen tank.
Avatar n tn Hi, This type of sinusitis is also known as chronic hyperplastic eaosinophilic sinusitis with nasal polyposis (CHES/NP) as it is usually associated with small polyps/swellings in the nose. It is the prominent accumulation of eosinophils that is the diagnostic feature of this condition.
Avatar m tn I also take Singulair which keeps down the swelling in my bronchial tubes and lungs. The nasal sprays never worked for me nor the emergency inhalers. Budesonide keeps the polyps down and this med. has been a life saver! Also the allergy serum has been a life saver! With out these three meds my sinus's swell up so much that I can't talk and I get a severe head ache. I was suddenly allergic to dust mites, mold, yeast, dogs and pollen- two years after my polyps were removed.
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.

Having sinus issues as well, as I have severe headache on the right part of head. After X-ray the report said cyst/polyp in right maxillary sinus. I went to ENT with that report , he said it's not much of issue. But sometimes I have severe headache due to it.Doctor prescribed me nasal spray, inhaler, mondelsor, doxolin.
Avatar n tn I have had 5 back surgeries and have rods from L-2 to S-1, I am on alot of medicine because of this. For my lungs I take brovana, budesonide, and mucomyst in my nebulizer, spiriva, predisone, and pro air inhaler. The doctor had me start taking prilosec 2 x a day for a month to see if it helps with my acid problem which can effect the lungs. Thank You for any help you can give me!
Avatar m tn I took Primatene mist for asthma 2 months back but my doctor asked me to stop using it and prescribed PREDNISONE, ALBUTEROL inhaler and BUDESONIDE and I have been taking these for past two months. My tests came negative. My question are 1) Is test conclusive? 2) Does medications mentioned above cause false negative? 3) It was 8 panel test which includes Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HSV 1, HSV 2, HIV and syphilis. All except HSV 1 came negative.
Avatar n tn If vigorous therapy for asthma does not reduce your cough, especially when combined with nasal washes and the use of a nasal steroid inhaler, then you should see an ENT. A nasal steroid spray decreases inflammation in the nose and sinuses and mucus production. However it does not provide immediate relief of symptoms. It may need to be used every day for several weeks to months to notice improvement in your symptoms.
Avatar f tn The usual treatment plan is antibiotics, inhaler (with steroids), nasal spray (like Nasonex). I have been continuing the inhaler and nasal spray between episodes as well. The sinus/chest x-rays have come back with nothing that the doctor was concerned about. I like my doctor, but I think it's time for another opinion or a specialist. I'm not even sure where to start. ENT? Pulmonologist? Asthma specialist? Thanks for your help.
1596864 tn?1333485191 Many people will pretreat with their rescue inhaler before exercise. Since you will most likely be outside, you should talk to your doctor about other measures you can take as well. If you have allergies, they could trigger your asthma as well. You may need an antihistamine or various types of nasal spray. Take care.
Avatar f tn I haven't used that, but I do take a regular inhaler, steroid inhaler, and nasal spray daily. Maybe go to one you don't need to take so often? Mine is 2sprays in each nostril once a day. Or clairton was supposed to be ok too, it just didn't help me. Ask your primary doc if it's ok or if they wanna prescribe something new due to pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Took Hazel back to the vet today, she was so congested, and not eating. She either has a cold or sinus infection, but he also felt her breathing was affected by the asthma, too. He was a retired vet that was filling in, and had to look up in a book what to prescribe. That didn't thrill me, but I had no choice.
19890616 tn?1486067380 t figure it out - they put me on Antibiotics, steroids, gave me an inhaler and nasal spray. Nothing works. Any advice? I am a talker and a singer and I can't do either which is making me very depressed.
9263335 tn?1403463032 Does anyone know of any good medicines that work or any homemade remedies for a nasal congestion, coughing, & clogged ear? I've had this constantly for about two months now & nothing seems to work for me & I feel like I'm going death because my ear is fine one day & then it hurts the next & I can't hear.
Avatar f tn Your airways react to certain triggers like strong odors. Some people get nasal congestion with this and will pretreat with a nasal antihistamine before exposure. You should discus this with your doctor the next time you are in his/her office. It sounds like you have found a coping technique, but you may need more should your reactions become more severe or harder to get out of. An inhaler may be a good idea to carry. I hope that helps you some. Take care.
Avatar m tn ) Xrays were negative but oxygenation rate was 85% and they gave me oxygen and an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, discharged home with antibiotics and an inhaler. That nebulizer/inhaler treatment was a miracle. It (eventually) was like a lava eruption coming from my lungs. If you don't already have an inhaler, or do not use one regularly, it might help force a clear-out of what is still triggering your cough. They love to prescribe steroids-stay away from steroids!
1137036 tn?1263515995 Started on Prednisone 5mg 2 pills 2-3 times a day and Rhinocort budesonide nasal spray yesterday (2-64 mcg doses). Zyrtec during the day and Benedryl at night. No more PND, throat clearing or raw throat. Plus I got in an hour of exercise mall walking at the Emporium yesterday (best to stay indoors, avoid the smog). 5 days without a cigarette. I have 4 days more to go on the Levaquin. This has been a hell of an ordeal, starting a month ago Dec 15.
Avatar m tn Hi I have the same issue. esphagitis (just got another endoscopy). they say its from acid reflux. Ive tried ALL of the different reflux medications none work. My doc suggested flovent inhaler but my insurance doesn't cover name brands and its like $250. The nasal spray is $15 for me because it is generic and the pharmacy accidentally prescribed it to me. My doc has no opinion on it. Does anyone have any good experience with the nasal spray via the mouth for esophagis problems?
Avatar m tn It actually opens up my airways to the extent that it feels as though I don’t have any obstruction and helps my breathing more than the inhaler meds combined. I contacted a lung rehab hospital about this and they’ve informed me other patients report the same findings and it warrants further study. It does however also tend to obstruct the nasal passages as you’ve related, however that’s a small price to pay for the benefits I derive.
