Avatar m tn I hope some doctor responds to your question. The thickening in ileum and small intestine could point towards Crohn's. Are you still on steroids and/or anti-inflamatory meds? How about your CRP &ESR. Mine would keep fluctuating I.e. High with a flare and going down after meds for a few days. It would be a breakthrough case if you have correctly been treated for Crohn's and now correctly downgraded to IBS...someone with medical training pls respond.
Avatar n tn He has been on budesonide for 4 weeks with no results. He also takes esomeprazole with no results. When she did the cameraoscopy she saw what she called white fuzz at the beginning of lower intestines. We did a round of fungal meds. No results. Can anyone help please.
Avatar f tn I am a 24 year old who just a few months ago, had my world turned upside down. I began with flu-like symptoms, trembling, cold sweats, instability/fast heart rate. Symptoms continued throughout the day. The next day I went to ER treated for dehydration. A day later symptoms continued and I went to a different Hospital where they treated me for anxiety- I have NEVER been an anxious person, quite the opposite.

48668 tn?1201543083 Both diseases are thought to be caused by an autoimmune system malfunction. Although this is just a theory in the study of Crohn's Disease, it would tend to indicate that a child whose autoimmune system attacks his or her pancreas cells may also be a candidate for the autoimmune system causing problems elsewhere. Also, some researchers in Crohn's Disease treatments tend to believe that bacterial overgrowth can be the cause of some of the inflammation.
Avatar n tn is it possible to have crohn's disease while having none of the symptoms and being on no medications for almost 10 years.
Avatar f tn Little is known about the long-term efficacy of inhaled corticosteroids in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We investigated the efficacy of inhaled budesonide on decline in lung function and respiratory symptoms in a 3-year placebo-controlled study of patients with COPD...... Inhaled budesonide was of no clinical benefit in COPD patients recruited from the general population by screening.
Avatar f tn For several years now I have been suffering from abdominal pain on my right side as well as acid reflux, nauseau, vomitting, constipation and diarhea. Since 2001 I have had several surgeries to try and fix the problem. They include: having my gall bladder removed, two surgeries for endometriosis, a total hysterectomy and my appendix removed. The doctors that I see have done several tests including a pill cam, several ct's, xrays and blood work.

Avatar f tn I've had the same problem and found a healthy protein drink named AbsorbPlus. It's expensive and from Canada, but unlike the ones I've found here in the US, it is good for you - no corn syrup, absorbable protein, etc.. The woman who developed it had Crohn's herself. I also found eating cheese, rice with sauteed vegetables in olive oil (the vegetables being mushy), mashed potatoes with butter and milk, etc.. helpful to maintaining/gaining weight.
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms for an Crohn's disease? Can it lead to any kinda complication like Arthritis? Anyone can explain it precisely?
3242115 tn?1447004766 I was told I may have Crohn's Disease due to my symptoms and am waiting to hear back from a specialist as to when I can have a scope done. I also have suffered with Bulimia and know of a few cases where the eating disorder has in fact caused the disease due to the unhealthy ways of eating and then regurgitating the food back up.
Avatar n tn You could be allergic to the budesonide/pulmicort! I was put on life support for an allergic reaction/anaphylaxis and they were giving me methylprednisolone as a steroid. Every time they would give It to me the leak in my cuff tightened back up. It was preventing me from having the ventilator removed. We told them to stop the methylprednisolone and after a week and a half I was able to get off life-support. A week ago my asthma Dr.
Avatar n tn My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage. Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?

Avatar f tn For the past 3 years, I have been getting recurrent canker sores. They would apprear twice a month. They disappeared only when I was in my secong and third trimester of pregnancy. I did various tests and a colonoscopy to rule out Crohn's disease. I also did the ASCA and ANCA blood tests. My colonsocopy was normal. ANCA was negative but ASCA was positive. I dont have the classic symptoms of Crohn's (diarrhea). is a positive ASCA an indicator of Crohn's?
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm a 31 year old male with Crohn's disease. I have a question regarding the appearance of my anus, and whether this is caused by Crohn's disease. For a while (probably years) I've noticed while cleaning that my anus felt as though it had flaps, or almost lips for a lack of a better term. Recently i decided to take a picture, and this was confirmed. And to my horror, was fairly unattractive. Almost as if my anus is loose or has developed hanging tags.
