Avatar n tn Abdominal pain, back pain, dizziness, fatigue, gas, headache, indigestion, nausea, pain, respiratory infection, vomiting Grapefruit juice can increase the amount of Entocort EC in your blood stream. Do not drink grapefruit juice during your course of therapy with Entocort EC.
Avatar f tn Or is anyone taking a different medication and getting good results? (Steroids did not work on this, I was on entocort for a long time for eosiniphillic esophagitis). Thank you very much!
Avatar m tn She put me on Asacol for about a month, no change, then finally we got to the Entocort EC. It has changed my life! I am normal again. The medicine took effect within 2 weeks, a drastic change in everything. I have been on it for 6 weeks now and today is my first taper off day. I am going to go down to 2 pills a day (6 mg) from the original dose of 9 mg. I will work towards 1 pill and then off.
Avatar f tn Budesonide is the generic name, i am on Entocort with contains budesonide, because budesonide is not sold generically in the state of new jersey. I have been on it for about 3 months now, but I was also on it for quite awhile a few years ago. I have never had anything but success with it. there are no side effects. I will be on it for another 2 months and my dr plans to take me off of it.

Avatar n tn I am regularly using Ventloin, Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. The only problem is breathlessness arising from throat tightness. I never wheeze in the life. The throat tightness is getting reduced when i take Ventolin. The doctor say i don't have to take ventolin beacause Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. will prevent the difficulty. But only medicines which seems to be working is Ventolin and Motelukast+LC.
456090 tn?1259694837 t know if this helps or not but my Gastro doc prescribed Entocort and Nexium to me. I also took Flagyl the first few weeks. That was an antibiotic. The Entocort is a steroid to help with the inflamation and ulcers and obviously the Nexium is for excess stomach acid. I guess it's working. I've been taking them for a few months now. They are still trying to figure out if I really have Crohns or not. If so, I guess I have a fairly mild form of it.
Avatar n tn While there isn't any concrete evidence that EC is hereditary, there is some speculation that a predisposition to Barret's might have a hereditary component. (It is also believed by some that while not everyone who gets Barrett's gets EC, everyone who gets EC had Barrett's.) As Ayri said, for peace of mind, having an EGD every two or three years is a prudent move. Also, following a GERD diet would be a very good idea.
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
1330108 tn?1333677304 I am doing EC with Ellie (elimination control Aka similar to potty training). I was wondering if anyone else has done it or is doing it.
Avatar n tn Can I ask you if you know anything about Entocort? My doctor told me to take this 3x day for 1 wk, 2x day for 1wk & 1x day for 1wk. Then I should see him again for another xray to see if the pill has passed. I am afraid of the affects of this steriod as I also have a stomach ulcer. Anyway, I have two little boys and I can't afford to have to side affects of this medicine on top of the panic I'm feeling over the certainty of another surgery.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and was prescribed Entocort. I have been on the drug for a week and a half and I am still having symptoms. Has anyone else tried this drug? How do you control the diarrhea? I keep taking Immodium but I still keep having issues and I still keep losing weight. I am having a hard time staying about 100 ibs and I'm 35 yrs old! All foods in the grocery stores are designed to help people lose weight.
Avatar n tn Over that period I have tried different combinations of Prednisolone, Budesonide, Salazopyrin, Singulair and Colpermin, all with limited success. Presently, I am taking Budesonide (9mg daily) and Salazopyrin (150mg daily). Whilst this allows me to function normally (i.e. normal bowel movements) I have discomfort, bloating and cramping all day, every day. Has anybody ever come through this disease to lead a normal life, or has anyone treated a patient that has done so?
Avatar f tn It means you had discharge. White discharge is common in women pregnant or not, and the amount will vary depending on the female and where she is in her cycle. In regards to your other question, it can feel like your cycle will start but it doesn't mean it will. Watch and see what happens and if it does, more than likely it is due to the EC. Overall, you're still looking way too much into this. Most of all these are just everyday usual bodily functions.
17080824 tn?1453552185 t take any form of drugs. and do not smoke, do not drink and I am a vegetarian. Yes I am inhaling Budesonide Powder to tackle with chronic cough issue. Is it the reason then ? Thank you doctor for your reply and suggestion.
Avatar f tn I am unsure if I may be pregnant, I had sex and contraception failed, so got emergency contraception within 14 hours. I had a short period 5 days after taking EC (therefor 3 weeks early) and my next period is now due and I have only had brown discharge and slight bleeding. However, I had the contraceptive implant fitted 6 days after taking the EC (7 days after sex) and am unsure whether the irregular periods are due to that or to the fact I may be pregnant.
Avatar f tn Little is known about the long-term efficacy of inhaled corticosteroids in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We investigated the efficacy of inhaled budesonide on decline in lung function and respiratory symptoms in a 3-year placebo-controlled study of patients with COPD...... Inhaled budesonide was of no clinical benefit in COPD patients recruited from the general population by screening.
Avatar n tn About 13 years ago I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and took Entocort for about 4 years and am still taking Cell Cept. I did have an ultrasound on my thyroid in 2018 and no changes. I moved in 2019 and no longer have an endocrinologist. So, all the changes probably started around 2019. I I do have bloodwork. Everything was in normal range. I can attach a copy of the report tomorrow.
Avatar n tn I had sex a day after my period ended. I took EC a day after sex but was 30 mins late to take the other. I only had unprotected sex because I heard of that day being my safe day.
Avatar n tn For the immunosuppressant drugs to affect hiv testing it has to be taken in large dozes. I took Entocort (a sort of cortiosteroids) 2mg evey other day for 60 days shortly before my test and doctors say it's not interfering with hiv tests.
874116 tn?1240368959 I am a regular user of the ovral L birth control pill but was on a break for teh last 3-4 months to give my body a rest. Since then I was used the EC about four times. I used it in February twice in teh same cycle. The name is Ipill with the levonorgestrel hormone. I used it once mid cycle after my period last month and got pregnant. I really want to know if teh hormone can cause any potential harm to the baby. I am in a fix and would really appreciate some advice....
