I am regularly using Ventloin, Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. The only problem is breathlessness arising from throat tightness. I never wheeze in the life. The throat tightness is getting reduced when i take Ventolin. The doctor say i don't have to take ventolin beacause Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. will prevent the difficulty. But only medicines which seems to be working is Ventolin and Motelukast+LC.
A similar drug, Formoterol (Combined with the inhaled steroid, Budesonide, in the drug Symbicort) while in the same class, might not have the same properties and perhaps might not exhibit the same cardiac stimulatory effect as Serevent. You might want to discuss this with your doctor.
Another approach might be to avoid these two combination drugs, Advair and Symbicort, and substitute individual inhalert for each of the two drugs (the inhaled steroid and the beta-agonist).
t really make a diagnosis and prescribed me with some sort of nasal spray, insisted that I take anti-histamine to rule out allergies, and also prescribed me Symbicort, Budesonide/formoterol. After 10 days treatment, the breathing issues became agitated.
The last doctor suggested referral to a specialist, I'm not entirely sure of which one, something to do with throat and breathing.

You should have another follow-up x-ray, now. The prescription of Symbicort® (budesonide/formoterol fumarate dehydrate) Inhalation Aerosol does not mean you have asthma. It only means that your doctor suspects that you might have it.

I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
It's nice to say "I'm not giving up diving", but you may have to choose between diving and death. In death, for the next billion years you can dream about diving.
The bright side is, I am not convinced you have to make that choice.

You are experiencing sudden onset shortness of breath, which grows worse (you haven't experienced where it may go) and it is relieved by albuterol sulfate.
I've had asthma since I was 10 yrs old, I'm now 27. I've played soccer since I was a kid and never had any serious issues. About 2 yrs ago I had a real bad cold/sinus infection and ended up in the ER because of my asthma. Ever since then, I have not been able to get my asthma under control. I've been prescribed almost everything you can think of, steroids, albuterol, xopenex (inhaler and inhalation solution), budesonide, mucinex and that's just for my asthma.
Some medications have both a steroid plus formoterol. My feeling is to try the formoterol fumarate alone, and see if that solves the problem before going to the dual-medication formulas.
I am 70 years old and recently used Dulera (steriod) and an antibiotic for brochitis. While using Dulera, I had the weight gain side effects, but mainly I was falling down during that time and one day fell 3 times - 7 times in 2 weeks! I discontinued use when unnecessary. Needless to say, I won't use it again. I called my pharmacist, and according to him, Dulera could cause falling indirectly, meaning Dulera suppresses histamines and makes the person drowsy causing falling.
What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
I have had 5 back surgeries and have rods from L-2 to S-1, I am on alot of medicine because of this. For my lungs I take brovana, budesonide, and mucomyst in my nebulizer, spiriva, predisone, and pro air inhaler. The doctor had me start taking prilosec 2 x a day for a month to see if it helps with my acid problem which can effect the lungs.

I live in TX and I'm having lots of problems here and it's really a drag. I lived and AZ for a while and it was really bad there, too. I was miserable. I don't know the best places to live...it probably depends on each person's triggers. I have allergies, which trigger my asthma (exercise is also triggers it). I take both allergy and asthma medication down here, which makes for a much happier choo_choo.
I took Primatene mist for asthma 2 months back but my doctor asked me to stop using it and prescribed PREDNISONE, ALBUTEROL inhaler and BUDESONIDE and I have been taking these for past two months. My tests came negative. My question are 1) Is test conclusive? 2) Does medications mentioned above cause false negative?
3) It was 8 panel test which includes Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HSV 1, HSV 2, HIV and syphilis. All except HSV 1 came negative.
There are many philosophies, but one protocol suggests albuterol should be used first and ipratropium five minutes later. Try the foradil (formoterol fumarate inhalation power). It too is expensive, but the company provides free samples.
s a little better now....Last year he did take budesonide mixed with splenda and a tiny bit of water orally for several months (on top of the Flovent), but it didn't appear to do much, and he would gag on it every time. Maybe it did help, but as every dose was a battle we just didn't last with it for very long.
I had a month or so on Entecort (budesonide here in England) but had a severe rectal haemorrhage and was hospitalised on IV steroids and needed blood transfusions. I don't think my gastro in England, who prescribed it, at the time realised that Entecort only works in the small intestine, and I had Pan Crohn's Colitis. As I had stopped prednisone to go onto budesonide, I had no protection in the colon, hence the flare.
