however this month i was expecting it to come in february, but instead i only got small portions of brown discharge. again i am not sexually active so i dont understand the cause of this. Is it my old lining coming out? or is there a problem? i am not experiencing any pain or side effects of diseases. Please help! i would really like to understand of this cause.

Brown vaginal discharge is most often associated with old endometrial tissues. In other words, if your period is late you might get a brown, rather than red, discharge. It could also mean that for whatever reason during your last menses the entire uterine lining failed to make a timely exit. In some cases however there is cause for concern like cervical cancer, pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), menopause, or sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and Chlamydia .
It could also be your uteran wall cleaning itself out (that happens alot after periods) any infection including brown discharge is Vaginitis. Which goes away quickly with propercare. The other possibility is cervical cancer which you might want to receive a Pap for. (Cervic check for cancer) if that case happens.. Not too likely. There is treatments and is one of the less stressing forms of cancer and can get taken care of easily.
I still have my ovaries. I am now 41 years old. Im having a brown discharge the past few days with no pain, I have not had intercourse in about 1 week. This also happened 1 year ago and an exam and pap smear were all normal. Could I be having menopause this early? Can lack of hormones make one sort of bleed? The only symptom of menopause I have is night sweats. Ive been on antidepressants for the past 15 years so the tired,depressed, symptoms arent new.

Brown discharge has happened to me before. When I have had a late period or when everything exits my body a little later than normal. But this time it feels like it's lasting longer. I have not been able to smell anything from it (though I haven't directly smelled it). I'm not having pain in my pelvic area, or any burning or itching. I read online that it could be ovulation and it will last a few days. I would say it's been going on at least 4-5 days.
I feel pelvic pain (like what used to be period pains), and have a watery discharge sometimes mixed with a very light brown discharge and even noticed a couple of times a small spot of bright red blood. I can only describe the feeling as like having a period but no period, and feels very 'watery wet' down below. I was diagnosed with fibroids and a small ovarian cyst on one of my ovaries 11 years ago so am wondering now if after all these years, they have 'woken up'.

ok heres the thing......i have been having a light brown discharge with a fishy odor to it. i do not have any pain during intercourse, urination, or pelvic pain. i do not have any itching, lumps, bumps, warts, or anything of the nature. i am not on birth control and am married. i have no idea what this is it has been present for almost a month now. i originally thought of BV how ever i have had BV before and the signs and symptoms are not present at all.
obviously since im in my twenties, married, have sex normally - yet no period and no babys and i have been married almost a year and a half. WELL A few months ago i had brown discharge, which made me thing i was going to menstruate - but that lasted 3 days and stopped. Well almost 2 weeks ago is started again. May 8th I had brown discharge, I thought it was implantation bleeding. It eventually turned red and lasted until about the 13th but by then it was back to brown again, but never got heavier than spotting. My periods are usually heavy. Oh, well, that's not good. I've heard of a forgotten tampon but never a lost bandaid. I am a victim of a forgotten tampon and it was not pretty by the time I found it. Do you still have the odor with the discharge? Any pain, fever? I think it would be a good idea to get checked. You may have BV or some other type of infection. My issues once the tampon was removed went away a few days later-- if your symptoms are persisting, see a doctor to get checked out.

My question is, my last period was the 18th of September so not long ago, I started having brown discharge on Tuesday and today is my 4th straight day having it with little cramping, my period is never normal it's always different every month but I have never had brown discharge for 4 days straight and I have no other symptoms..
It is a lot harder to get pregnant than people think, I always say I am using protection so really there is no way but always a chance.
