As I draw nearer to my period date, the discharge seem to get heaver color-wise. It would be light brown discharge one day, then red-ish the next, then back to brown and so on, sometimes red. I'm due in about a day or 2 and just today it started to look more like period blood when I use the bathroom. I thought I would start today, but after a few times on and off through the day, it seem to disappear and has resume back to light brown discharge.
There have been a lot of questions about this but I want to find out what brown discharge before a period means for me.
I am 21, NOT sexually active - in fact, I've never had sex. I took pills awhile back to control my acne breakout but stopped after 3-4 months of use.(I became really moody) The last time i took them was about less than 2 years ago. Then around November last year, I noticed brown discharge before my period and it has continued ever since. There's no odor.
Then pink blood( discharge) never seen that before... the next day and it was light. Then my period started and was with dark brown blood and then red flow for two days and my period stopped for a whole day and then 2 days of brown spotting. ( never had brown spotting in my life. The period was lighter but still had a flow for 2 days of red blood.
My next period started with a bit of dark brown blood and a normal flow but not as heavy as my periods before and I'm 30.

Brown discharge is usually the result of old blood. An irregular period or delayed (late) period can often shed older tissue that will begin with a darker burgundy or brown appearance because of the older cells being expelled during the start of your period. Bleeding during or after masturbation shouldn't be considered normal; you either need to use a water based lubricant, or be more gentle during masturbation.
I'm on birth control and i suddenly have brown discharge 2 weeks before my period. I had sex a little over 2 weeks ago w/ a condom and he did not finish in me. when i saw the discharge, took a test and confirmed i am not pregnant. I started getting the discharge on Sunday. I got my cartilage pierced 1 week before that and it didn't hurt until sunday as well. i also developed a cyst behind my ear (still on head and not on ear) .

It does sound like the early starts of your periods coming on. Brown discharge is menstrual fluid that has stayed in the uterus for a little while before coming out. A lot of women who have regular periods have brown on their first day and then red after that, but a lot of girls just beginning their periods have couple of months of just some light discharge that is brown, only. You're on track.
I am having brown discharge that started four days ago before my period which is scheduled to start tomorrow. On the first day I noticed brown discharge, it was on and off throughout the day and it was only when I wiped. The second day was bright red, went back to brown, and was only when I wiped but definitely heavier. The third day, I had to wear a tampon and it was dark brown. Today it is dark brown like yesterday and I am wearing a tampon.

I usually get brown discharge on the last day of my period but never before and my period isn't due for another week. I have never had it this much of it either, plus my boobs are very full and tender and I'm having light cramps. I NEVER spot before my period so I was convinced it had to be implantation bleeding when I started spotting scant amounts of light brown discharge 3 days before my period. I took Plan B after a condom broke during sex on my peak ovulation day. Pregnancy test was negative, but I thought it was too early.
My period came on time, exactly 28 days after the last one. I guess the spotting was either due to Plan B, or it was something new that I can expect to happen now.
for the past few months Ive been spotting 3-6 days before my period...Like a brown, orange, and light pink discharge...It will be on and off for those days some days ill spot in my underwear and some days I wont...but If i take a q-tip and place it in my vaginal area it will always have discharge I guess up there...What does that mean...It has never active when it happened and Im not that active when it comes to sex....can someone help!!!
It's most likely the onset of your period coming on. I would say, if you miss your period then take a test. Also, you should be using protection if you are not trying to get pregnant so you would not need to worry then. But to me, it sounds like your period is coming on soon.

In mid-July I found out that I was pregnant. It was the first month that my husband and I tried to conceive. Soon after, I had a miscarriage. The Dr. said we could start trying as soon as we wanted. We tried again this past month. I was waiting to test on Labor Day to ensure I was definitely late. Since I've been off the pill in May, my period is not as predictible. I think I am longer than 28 days.. more like 35 days. I wasn't expecting my period until next week.
