As I draw nearer to my period date, the discharge seem to get heaver color-wise. It would be light brown discharge one day, then red-ish the next, then back to brown and so on, sometimes red. I'm due in about a day or 2 and just today it started to look more like period blood when I use the bathroom. I thought I would start today, but after a few times on and off through the day, it seem to disappear and has resume back to light brown discharge.
There have been a lot of questions about this but I want to find out what brown discharge before a period means for me.
I am 21, NOT sexually active - in fact, I've never had sex. I took pills awhile back to control my acne breakout but stopped after 3-4 months of use.(I became really moody) The last time i took them was about less than 2 years ago. Then around November last year, I noticed brown discharge before my period and it has continued ever since. There's no odor.
Ok so i haven't had any signs of my regular period just brown discharge in a small amount n now I'm spotting pinkish blood in discharge but its only there when i wipe.
My Boobs are very sensitive now I'm gettin more frequent headaches n my veins are popping out a lot n are blue in color. I took a HPT last week n it came out negative, is there a possibility i can b pregnant but my hcg levels are just low still?
I feel pregnant n also i woke up today sunday n my stomach is sore.
It does sound like the early starts of your periods coming on. Brown discharge is menstrual fluid that has stayed in the uterus for a little while before coming out. A lot of women who have regular periods have brown on their first day and then red after that, but a lot of girls just beginning their periods have couple of months of just some light discharge that is brown, only. You're on track.
Your body may be preparing to start your period. The brown discharge is called old blood. The first couple of times you may have this discharge but you will eventually have the red blood. I would not worry unless it has an unusual smell, last for over a week or if you start having bad pains before discharge. If that happens go get it checked, until then just relax and see what will happen. Best wishes.
I would wait another week, and is still no period then re test with first morning urine just to be double sure. If it;s negative then I would speak to your doctor. Have you been experiencing any strange coloured/odour discharge or anything? Sometimes brown discharge can be a sign of a bacterial infection which can delay a period. It can also be a sign of PCOS. But many other things delay a period so it could just be nothing.

Brown discharge is usually the result of old blood. An irregular period or delayed (late) period can often shed older tissue that will begin with a darker burgundy or brown appearance because of the older cells being expelled during the start of your period. Bleeding during or after masturbation shouldn't be considered normal; you either need to use a water based lubricant, or be more gentle during masturbation.

Hi all. I'm 17 years old and I've been on birth control for a little more than a year and a half. I've had brown discharge before but not the week before my period, but during my ovulation. I'm a little confused as to what this means because it's never happened to me before and if I should go see a doctor about it. I had brown discharge for 5 days before my last period...I had a normal period. It came when it was souppose to and lasted the usual length. The brown discharge was kinda heavy and very dark. My next period is due in 15 days. I had protected sex a few weeks before this happened,and had protected sex 2 nights prior to the brown discharge starting. After the last time I had sex I took 2 of my birth control pills that I had missed,I didn't know if that could have messed up my hormonal balances?
Hi ladies I gave birth 4 months ago to a beautiful baby girl and since then my period is wacked up. I was very regular before I got pregnant and since then he birth it's been crazy last month I didn't get any period at all (and no im noy pregnant) just a little brown discharge. Ok, so i know that having brown and red discharge before and after your period is Okay; It just means that its old blood. But here is my story and after you can get the question. & please help. I really am concerned and i dont want to see a doctor because i dont want my mother to find out. So here i go; My boyfriend and i have been together for 2 years. We just started to have sex; the first time was unprotected but we had the day and after pill and we lost it to each other. Ok so anyway.
