( I had it exactly a week after having protected sex. I had brown discharge for about 2 days. Then a day where nothing happened. Then I had very little brown discharge. It was really dark brown. Then I had dark red blood with blood clots then the next day brown discharge and the following day red blood like a period with more blood clots followed by brown discharge and the next day it all stopped. Not sure if it was spotting, period, or implantation bleeding. Please help!
I am 53 and gone through menopause. In 2005 (11 years ago) after a scan I was told I had fibroids and a small cyst on one ovary, I was told not to worry about it. Now I am experiencing strange symptoms 'down below', ie I get what feels like period pains, lower back pain and recently some brown discharge and a couple of very small spots of red blood. I am due to have a scan soon. Could it be the fibroids playing up and the cyst from 11 years ago?

Well usually the brown discharge comes right before or after a period, usually not 2 weeks after although it's not that uncommon. Has your periods been changing in any other ways? I just turned 38 and have been noticing some changes and am concerned about pre-menopause so I'm scheduling a doctor appointment to see it that could be happening already. You mentioned you are 43 so I just wondered if there are any changes you may be having and if they are related to menopause.

I'm not sure about it being your period or not- it's probably just discharge, but I have proof the pull-out method doesn't work.. Please be careful. then I noticed a little blood and brown discharge again. then nothing. no period, no discharge. It is now January 7th and I have started my period last night./ Very light so far.

You just started your period eventhough it is brown discharge it is a sign. The pain in your getting are menstral cramps. Time for bed wear an over night pad right away just incase of over flow and put a towel fold it in half lay on it so you dont stain your sheets. Wash out the stain with hot water and soap by hand. The reason why your discharge is brown is because your body is so warm that it heated and it stayed in your system for a while. hope this info helps.

May 8th I had brown discharge, I thought it was implantation bleeding. Brown discharge has happened to me before. When I have had a late period or when everything exits my body a little later than normal. But this time it feels like it's lasting longer. I have not been able to smell anything from it (though I haven't directly smelled it). I'm not having pain in my pelvic area, or any burning or itching. I read online that it could be ovulation and it will last a few days. I would say it's been going on at least 4-5 days.
I sometimes have brown disharge after my period. Sometimes I don't have it at all and sometimes I will only have it for half a day and sometime 2 full days. I have been prone to bacterial infections in the past and when I have one of those it looks like the same brown disharge after my period. I jam 53 and recently had postmenopausal bleeding after 2 years of no periods. I had spotting on 10/24 and got dr appt on 10/30 which was just an overall exam of vagina and pelvis. Got blood drawn the same day and TVUS the next day. Had EMB on 11/2/12. Just got all results on 11/9/12 - all was normal except some estrogen on biopsy. Doc wants me on a one time progesterone to shed lining of any remaining tissue that might still be in uterus.
