broken-leg

Avatar m tn She jumped off of a chair and broke her front leg. The vet said the cast would be enough and the surgery is not required. However the x-ray shows that the bones are not aligned perfectly. I understand that he is a professional but I have already had experience with some incompetent vets and cannot rule out this one to be another example. I will probably get an advise from another vet but also want to hear your opinions. Has anyone had the same kind of problem? Here are the x-ray shots.
Avatar f tn When I was 31 y.o. I had an accident that left me w/ a broken femur ... leading up to days later a “ titanium rod “ being inserted into the broken femur . The initial days , etc. obvious moments of pain happened , over the years since then w/ the break eventually being healed = very ..,... minimal pain . In getting older = 64 y.o. now within the past couple of years thereabouts pain is reaccuring more & more , causing pain also in my hips and other leg .
Avatar n tn s probably not a problem, but it could be some clicking tendon between the two shin bones (tibia and fibula). Might be a good idea to go get an x-ray to see if either of those bones has a bone spur (due to some past injury, broken leg? are you a runner or other type of athlete?). It is possible that you have broken your fibula. That bone is not weight bearing and is the smaller of the two, so breaking it and being able to still walk is possible. Better go get an x-ray.
Avatar f tn I can walk fine but I have an autoimmune condition that can predispose me to loss of bone density. Am I likely to need an x ray? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I had X-ray and nothing is broken, But from my understand that X-ray can't show herinated disc or any other problems that have to do with the spine. That why I ask for an MRI the first time and the doctor sent for any X-ray, I hated Medicaid cause you got wait for everything. Thanks for the advice.
1196614 tn?1265075773 Ok so, when I finally got the surgery and after seeing an X-ray of my leg I had some questions from my own. I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray. The response was that the fibula was already healing and there was no reason to attach pins or screws to it and also they said that fibula bone does not support the body weight at all.
Avatar m tn First thing you need to do is get an X-Ray to make sure you haven't broken any bones. Once that is done, a determination can be done as to the treatment course.
Avatar f tn I had x-rays due to periodic pain in my rt. hip and lower leg. The results(impression)of the hip/pelvis x-ray are: {{Mild degenerative arthritic changes of the SI joints and pubic symphysis. Tiny benign appearing cyst of the left inferior pubic ramus. Radiographically normal bilateral hips.}} The "benign appearing cyst" concerns me. When my primary care physician's office called with the results of the x-rays, no mention was made of the cyst.
Avatar n tn But otehr form repairing the bone , you can try to put soem stainless steel support on the replace of the broken bone.It is a safe teqniqie as my uncle had this operation at 1992 on his broken leg femur and he is still ok andno one even knows he had a surgery.
Avatar f tn Go to the doctor or emergency room you may have broken it or it may be just a small fracture. An x-ray couldn't hurt. An ice pack will help with the swelling and pain meds for pain ( Advil is best over the counter med 400-800 mg or 2-4 tablets) if you are not going for treatment just observe it and buy a hand splint from a pharmacy and wrap it with gauze. If you notice that the pain and/or swelling is getting worse or if your fingers turn cold GO TO THE E.R.
Avatar n tn My 10 week check x ray had the rod broken where a month prior the rod was ok.I was off my leg with a boot on and put no pressure on my leg. What type of force could cause such a thing?I have no pain and did not fall or was not in a accident .Please explain any causes.Thank you.
Avatar f tn Did Buddy taping / thick boots . In my follow up X-ray it shows no sign of healing ,very frustrated and sad . I have an appt with podiatrist next week . I appreciate any input . Tia.
Avatar f tn It feels like iv done something more then just bruise or twist it because its gradually getting worse, iv broken my leg before and it kinda feels like that. Im a lifeguard and am worried that this is affecting my work, also soeone at work suggested i might have injured my 'scaphoid bone' (spelt wrong) does this sound possible?
Avatar m tn Four weeks after surgery I went to the doctors for a check-up and when x-rays were taken, the x-ray showed that the plate and screws lifted from the shoulder side of my collar bone. The doctor asked me if I was lifting anything or doing anything that would have caused this? I can't move my arm because of the pain and told him all I did was start to try and lift my arm up as he wanted me to. Has anyone had this problem with the plate and screws lifting? Is this normal or the doctors fault?
Avatar n tn Actually, you will need an X-Ray and an MRI. It is possible that there is a fracture as well as ruptured ligaments and tendons. If there are ruptured ligaments or tendons and they are not repaired you will have ankle instability that can cause some more serious problems. Even if they are partially torn your ankle needs to be in a cast. I realize you don't have insurance so it is going to be tough but it should be addressed properly. Good Luck.
Avatar m tn Yes, an MRI can produce images radio waves and unlike conventional x-ray examinations and computed tomography (CT) scans, MRI does not depend on ionizing radiation. It seems, generally, the differentiation of abnormal tissue from normal tissue is often better with MRI then x-ray, CT and echo. But the state-of-art CT scan, slice 64 and higher has reduced radiation. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn It is not a ring, its a clip and it is harmless, very safe and inert. However if you dont want it be used you can ask your doctor to apply sutures.
Avatar f tn Everything seemed okay for the most part; still having some pains in that area where my gallbladder was; however, during an x-ray for a fertility test, the radiologist saw that a surgical clip was in my lower abdomen where it shouldn't be. She thought it may have dislodged. I've read other people have had issues because of this and my doctor is being unresponsive to my questions. I'm considering to pursue legal action. Has anyone else had this issue?
1924388 tn?1322818328 i've recently had a lot of pain in my left abdomen .... i went to the doctor for a x ray and to my suprise my right clip was off and lingering around .... i went to my doctor who refered me to the emergency room at my local hospital .. after a HUGE amount of test .. they were baffled as to why i was in so much PAIN !! .... So i ask the doctor could the clip be causing all the pain he was unsure but said that i should be very careful as i am at a risk of pregnancy again ....
Avatar n tn Hi guys, quick question can anyone please look at my X-ray and advise if i need surgery, I dont want problems in the future.
Avatar m tn They didn't X-ray, just did a physical exam. He said it's hard to get a good X-ray, and even if they were confirmed broken by the X-ray, they are treated the same way. But no, no shortness of breath, or sweating, or that, have been checking temperature regularity, I figure if something was really wrong, it would have come up by no. Just feel constipated though, most likely from the Advil.
