Broken leg x ray

Common Questions and Answers about Broken leg x ray

broken-leg

The dentist was shocked by this and said he would not have believed it possible with teeth like my daughters if he had not seen it on 2 different x-rays. Is it possible her cavity (which cannot be seen except on x-ray?) could be in any way linked to her bone strength etc. It seems unlikely to me that she could end up with a cavity when the tooth has only been in her mouth for a few months. I am obsessive about keeping her teeth healthy and clean. The shock from the dentist shows that.
Went back to my family doctor to get results of x-ray and ultrasound. Leg not broken, but I do have some blood clots in my leg. Dr. told me to try to stay off it as much as possible, use heat or ice (whatever feels better) for the swelling, and rotate between Tylenol and Motrin for pain. It still hurts really bad and is still very swollen and purple.
If they were doing that kind of X-ray, it's no different than if they X-rayed your chest where your heart is or X-rayed your leg. Now, if let's say you have a tooth problem right now, and that's how come you had that kind of panoramic X-ray done, THAT'S what is giving you a headache and making you dizzy, you got a tooth infection or cavity that is exposing the nerve. So, you'll probably have to go to the dentist to get a tooth filled or pulled or whatever.
She jumped off of a chair and broke her front leg. The vet said the cast would be enough and the surgery is not required. However the x-ray shows that the bones are not aligned perfectly. I understand that he is a professional but I have already had experience with some incompetent vets and cannot rule out this one to be another example. I will probably get an advise from another vet but also want to hear your opinions. Has anyone had the same kind of problem? Here are the x-ray shots.
(I had an ultrasound to rule out blood clots and an x-ray, and both were negative) Last night, I just got up from a chair and my right leg sort of crumbled, or deflated, and I fell from the weakness. I have since not been able to walk at all; I cannot put any weight on the leg, and it felt like it was broken/braking. (this is now better) pretty severe pain, and especially in the back of the knee. Some swelling.
You have not mentioned whether you had seen some doctor immediately after the injury, which is very important, ensure proper treatment and healing. An x-ray film may or may not be done to diagnose whether the toe is fractured or not. Do update us on your daughter’s follow-up Take care!
This nerve irritation or nerve impingement could be due to rod insertion or any fracture fragments impinging on nerve. I would like to get an imaging study like any X-ray to see for any evidence for rod displacement or fracture fragments’. A MRI study would be helpful to see for soft tissue study. Keep me informed if you have any queries. Bye.
It feels like iv done something more then just bruise or twist it because its gradually getting worse, iv broken my leg before and it kinda feels like that. Im a lifeguard and am worried that this is affecting my work, also soeone at work suggested i might have injured my 'scaphoid bone' (spelt wrong) does this sound possible?
Even if the pain and limp would resolve, there is no certainty that the bones in your foot have healed adequately until an X-ray is done. This also goes for wearing heels. I would suggest that you consult your orthopedist who can do an X-ray and evaluate your condition to determine if the foot is healing properly. He/she will also be able to determine when you would most likely be able to do those things you mentioned based on the clinical evaluation. Hope this answers your queries.
I am so sorry you are in pain honey. Do you have anyone who can hold the pills for you?
You should also consult your orthopaedician, and if required, should take a check X-ray to see how much healing has happened. Hope you get well soon and keep me posted about your latest condition.
Yesterday I fell while hiking and broke my finger (right hand ring finger) Went to the ER got an x-ray that showed the break in-between the knuckle and the last joint on the finger. They gave me a referal to an ortho but he is out of town for a couple of weeks, so they said to call my Dr to get a referal for an ortho as soon as possible. The finger is severally swollen, bruising bad and I can't move it up or down.
After 12 days in the hospital without having the surgery on my leg I was told by the doctors that it wouldn't matter the long waiting. When I finally got the surgery and after seeing an X-ray of my leg I had some questions from my own. I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken. The response was that the fibula was already healing and there was no reason to attach pins or screws to it.
Ok so, when I finally got the surgery and after seeing an X-ray of my leg I had some questions from my own. I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray. The response was that the fibula was already healing and there was no reason to attach pins or screws to it and also they said that fibula bone does not support the body weight at all.
But otehr form repairing the bone , you can try to put soem stainless steel support on the replace of the broken bone.It is a safe teqniqie as my uncle had this operation at 1992 on his broken leg femur and he is still ok andno one even knows he had a surgery.
Actually, you will need an X-Ray and an MRI. It is possible that there is a fracture as well as ruptured ligaments and tendons. If there are ruptured ligaments or tendons and they are not repaired you will have ankle instability that can cause some more serious problems. Even if they are partially torn your ankle needs to be in a cast. I realize you don't have insurance so it is going to be tough but it should be addressed properly. Good Luck.
I hurt my knee running and within a few weeks it got worse. I had a X-ray and they found nothing. I had a MRI and they found a contusion in my bone marrow. I woke up one morning and stretched my leg and my femur bone broke. They put a 8 in plate in it. Dr.'s don't know how it could just break. What kind of tests do I need done? Will I be able to run again?
After 6 weeks from 17th after starting some mobility you can go for another X-ray. If everything is fine start weight bearing in a progressive way and after 4-6 weeks you will built up the required strength. Take care!
Went to my Family Doctor for my leg, he ordered an x-ray and untrasound. Got x-ray... leg not broken... ultrasound showed some blood clots.
he seems to have messed up the knuckle above his pinky finger. what can i do to help. do i need to take him to get an x ray. what can a doctor do for him if anything.
If you have started having pain after an injury or fall then fracture should be suspected and you should go for X-ray scans. Osteoarthritis pain can be suspected with previous injuries to your leg or a chronic developing pain. This can be severe with movements and weight bearing. Start taking NSAIDs, ice the area and go for X-ray scans. Follow up with an orthopedician for correlating and diagnosing your condition. Take care!
I deal with foot pain and it does cause a difference in the way we walk. you might want to have a x-ray of your foot arthritis forms where there have been breaks.. I also dealt with leg pain for awhile. I walked around a ball fiend with my dogs everyday for about 6 weeks and they would be sore when I started but I would just walk it off and it would help so much with the rest of the day.. Hope it eases for you soon and Congratulations On 12 days !!
After couple of weeks your pain will decrease and also go for a follow up visit and an X-ray to know if your tibia fracture is healing properly and based on the results you can proceed. Complete recovery with no pain and proper gait will take at least 6 months from now if your bone heals. Take care!
I also feel that this the right time to do an imaging study i.e. X-ray as much would depend on how does the x-ray looks. I think if you feel comfortable, then you should be doing weight bearing otherwise not. Keep me informed if you have any queries. Bye.
I can walk fine but I have an autoimmune condition that can predispose me to loss of bone density. Am I likely to need an x ray? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
My old doctor wouldn't prescribe me pain meds since i was going through some depression at the time and told me that I would become 'hooked' real easy. He sent me for an X-ray and said it looked like a 'healing fracture'. I am currently looking for a new doctor as my insurance has changed. I am no longer taking depression meds but my physical pain remains everyday and I am hoping to get some relief after seeing my new doctor and explaining my situation.
hi, all your thoughts are just imaginative. this is a case of non-union if consider your statements. If it is only seeing an x-ray, then to say a fracture radiologically united would take a longer time about 3-4 months though clinically united.
I broke my fibula 7 weeks before and i am on cast for 7 weeks. Yesterday i took a X-ray and found the same way it was before 7 weeks, Doctor told 50% healing was done and put me a new cast to wait 4 more weeks. Is this normal healing time for fibula fracture at the end ?
Hello brint561, It is possible that you might be developing some kind of edema in the leg over the period of time. I suggest that you get an X ray done to access the status of the rods. Also take some anti inflammatory like ibuprofen etc for the management of inflammation and pain.
But the treatment he got for the Dr covering his butt by saying he fell on top of it was the icing on the cake along with the drug comments. If his primary had read the x-ray report which stated exactly what it was (dead femur and ball joint) then we wouldn't have had to go through all this. That being said, that's why I admire your strength after witnessing first hand how our medical system treats people.
