Broken leg untreated

Common Questions and Answers about Broken leg untreated

broken-leg

I would also try to straighten it out throughout the day by putting it in my left pant leg between my pants and my leg. Anyway... it still works fine now it just has a slight curvature to the left. My question is could there still be complications associated with the fracture or do you think I'm fine? Also do you think it's possible that my penis did not fully develop to it's full potential size due to the fracture?
) Another problem I have is that x-rays I got a few years ago showed that I had actually broken my talus in a fall 12 years ago. It was left untreated and is now pretty painful. Will chiro/ acu help there?
He is starting to lose feeling in various places in his body, the percentage of feeling is as follows; 70% feet, 50% left leg, 50% left leg, 40% butt and 60% groin. The loss of feeling is accompanied by a feeling of pins and needles. One of the most troubling things so far, is the fact the tops of his feet are starting to turn a reddish purple color, as well as being CONSIDERABLY colder than the rest of his foot/body.
What can happen if a bone is broken in your leg and it goes untreated because you have spina bifida and you cannot feel your legs.
I fell onto concrete nearly two weeks ago, and I'm certain that I've broken my knee cap. I can feel the gap between the large (unbroken) section of patella and the part that has broken off. When I put my finger in the gap and bend my knee, I can feel the joint moving. I have quite a bit of fluid on the knee as well. However, the pain is not too bad, and I'm mobile (walking and doing stairs). I can fully extend my leg.
The only thing that seems to alleviate it at all but is only temporary, is stretching my right hamstring by putting my right leg up on a high bench or table and bending forward towards my foot and touching my right foot with my hands and holding it for about 30seconds and repeating several times.
i recently broke my clavicle snowboarding and had the surgery to fix it into place, for my injury if left untreated would heal with deformity and limited range of movement. the procedure was done in 4 hours, Six screws and one titanium plate. this all happened over my winter break. Saturday i broke it snowboarding, went to er and got xrays and a sling. wednesday i had an appointment with a ostepedic who suggested surgery was the best choice.
For the past 2 days I have a very slight heat sensation in my lower left leg (no other problems). Is this some thing I should be concerned about now, or wait for my drs. appt in a few weeks?
The fracture was not open (the bone did not break the skin) however I had a small wound on my broken leg which caused a little bleeding. My leg was immobilized with a half-cast in the emergency 3 hours after the accident. The front part of my leg was merely covered with bandages and was not put on a cast. I had an open reduction internal fixation surgery on 27/08/2013. A cast and 11 screws were put on my tibia. After the surgery I had an above knee cast for 4 weeks.
Anyways, he had his seatbelt on incorrectly behind his back and was hit from behind, which resulted in a broken L5, S1 and S2. His pain has gotten progressively worse, but in the past month the pain has DOUBLED since his accident. He is experiencing pain on BOTH sides of his back vs just the one it started on, his back goes numb and he loses sensation (pain is still there though) where it is broken. He is also losing feeling throughout his body.
Shaking and unable to walk IS severe pain.....I agree w/Margot, the leg needs to be seen by a Vet....If the cut is indeed this bad, infection will set in quickly because it's impossible to keep an ankle clean..... If left untreated, this could lead to a bone infection which you DON"T want.....Very dangerous!!!! Get to the Vet ASAP and get the wound cleaned/Sutured if needed & him on antibiotics...I would also ask for some pain medication for a few days.......
And not just cats, but most animals (even us humans). When broken parts go untreated that is when muscle atrophy occurs. If it were a wide spread systematic disease, more than just 1 leg would be showing signs.
Both the steroid and non-steroid topical medications keep / kept it under control but I would have good days and bad. The rash, if left untreated has very persistent patterns. Starts with mild to severe itch of the sides of my face, inner corners of my nose, forehead and gets progressively worse until my forehead, cheeks and nose are severely red and itchy I'm convinced I have some type of medical condition...underlined disease.
Thank you for your comments. I have to say that using the term "Headache" is a not an accurate way to describe my pain. It would be like describeing the pain of a broken leg using the term "stiffness". The issue that seems to get overlooked by the doctors is the pressure buildup and the related sense of heavyness and fatiuge.
I ended up with 10-15 stress fractures in both feet, both ankles were broken, Stress fractures in both hips and a stress fracture in my leg. All my blood work and urine work was borderline hyperparathyroid. After having a scan done on my parathyroids it was plan to see that they were very much enlarged. After having the surgery everything was fine. Just a slight piece of parathyroid was left in. Now I am in trouble again!
got some of the same nice guys we had last night.. All said and done, Auntie is in the hospital with a fractured hip (and maybe broken arm). My husband and I have spent the majority of the past 24 hrs (2 trips) at the hospital. which is much worse than putting in a full day's work because there's so much waiting, but you're afraid to leave in case doctor comes in or something... it's exhausting... Last we heard, Auntie is to have a pin put into her hip, either tomorrow or Thurs.......
has ruined my judge of character, and I am furious because it seems as though I am crying out for help, and only getting jerked around from not only my Dr. but my workers comp insurance as well, I would give anything to not have a broken leg but I can't change it. Now I am stuck with this hardware in my leg, ugly scars, and not to mention by self being, depression, stress, and will never be able to do all of the things that I did before. I feel helpless, and just need some advice from any dr.
its not nice to live with and can be very depressing if left untreated. like a child with a broken leg at a swimming pool, you can see the fun just cant join in. if you have low pb ask for a tilt table test it could save a lot of time (10 yrs if you hve my luck) but the water alone should help most as it can also be simple de-hydration.
My dad sterilized his pocket knife (I know, shudder!), probed at it, and discovered that she had stepped on the broken off tip of a needle (big sewing family) some time before. It had gotten infected, and abscessed. So I agree with Lulu, have your doctor check it out and make sure it's nothing of major concern. Congratulations on your appointment at the MS Clinic; wow, a whole day appointment with several doctors; that's pretty awesome.
2 weeks ago, our puppy was run over by a truck. He suffered several broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a severly broken forearm. We are not able to take him to a vet. In nursing him 24 hours a day, he has pulled through nicely and is wanting to get back to being a puppy. My question lies with his forearm. the bone seems to be heeling well, it's got a nice calcium ball however it's still "crunches" if manipulated. It sort of hangs from the shoulder when he stands.
3 years ago, for 6 wks had swimmy headed feeling-happened many times ea day. Called OB/gyn who put me on Mircette to see if that could be cause-said no. I took sinus meds too. A few wks after this stopped I had numbness/tingling come into my right arm while driving down the road. Tongue started feeling same way. After 10 min went away & I got a horrible headache. Was all I could do to get in house, take Tylenol & get into bed w/ cold cloth on forehead. I didn't go to Dr then.
How crazy of me to think that a swollen, discolored, hot-to-touch ankle that was broken in multiple places and is full of metal could hurt, 3 1/2 months later. My PT thinks my situation is quite normal, considering what I've been through, and will keep on working at it. At least I've got him. Furthermore, the ortho-dufus asked me if I've heard of gabapentin (hah!) and suggested it was all neuropathic. Wrong! How come when I sit down and rest, or ice and elevate my leg, the pain lessens?
Aren't there just as many risks playing contactr sports for any other young man without this condition (i.e concussion, broken bones, etc)? And, while Decompression surgery is on the horizon, why would he be at any more risk than he was before? Again, I don't feel like I can ask my Dr. this because of the obviuos slant against ANY contact sport and get an honest assessment....any ideas, thoughts or help is greatly appreciated!!!!!
I was born with lumbar spondyleothesis now grade 2 almost 3, I have basicly no reflexes after the test was done on my left leg, no reflexes at my ankle and behind my knee, and a bit more reflexes on my right side.
The TSH test is a crime that's been inflicted on millions of people since 1973, keeping them sick while doctors give them really dangerous drugs for the many symptoms of hypO - like a bandaid on a broken leg. The TSH test is what has caused new diseases with names like "chronic fatigue" and "fibroyalgia" to be invented.
Polymorphic Light Sensitivity Eruption(sever allergy to the sun) 4. Nerve damage in right leg 5. RA 6.
No, CRPS cannot spread from the arms to the legs because they are not connected by the same nerves. It can spread from arm to arm or leg to leg, but only if left untreated. I assume that you are on medication for the CRPS. The most common medication for CRPS is gabapentin which can cause swelling of the feet and legs and should be reported to a doctor immediately. Fibromyalgia can cause pain in both calves of the legs, but will not cause swelling.
I was hit by a car on my bike last June which left me with a plate/screws in my leg/ankle and RSD, which is a chronic nerve condition that keeps me in severe pain 24/7. Ask your doctor about extended release pain medications like oxycontin, ms contin, opana, etc. I take opana and it's worked pretty well for me.
About six months ago I got this really pesky bump on my leg. Oh it hurt something awful. I went to my family md and she said it could be staph but it resembled a spider bite also. Well I don't have insurance and I couldn't afford a culture at the time. So we treated it like staph I took the antibiotics and kept it clean and it finally healed but it left behind a very very ugly dark scare.
