Common Questions and Answers about Broken leg untreated

broken-leg

Avatar m tn I would also try to straighten it out throughout the day by putting it in my left pant leg between my pants and my leg. Anyway... it still works fine now it just has a slight curvature to the left. My question is could there still be complications associated with the fracture or do you think I'm fine? Also do you think it's possible that my penis did not fully develop to it's full potential size due to the fracture?
Avatar n tn What can happen if a bone is broken in your leg and it goes untreated because you have spina bifida and you cannot feel your legs.
Avatar n tn Shaking and unable to walk IS severe pain.....I agree w/Margot, the leg needs to be seen by a Vet....If the cut is indeed this bad, infection will set in quickly because it's impossible to keep an ankle clean..... If left untreated, this could lead to a bone infection which you DON"T want.....Very dangerous!!!! Get to the Vet ASAP and get the wound cleaned/Sutured if needed & him on antibiotics...I would also ask for some pain medication for a few days.......
Avatar n tn Also if the penis is left untreated, are there things I need to look out for in the future, and by that I mean can a broken penis that is not treated lead to other problems? Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.

Avatar f tn Since being on medication I have put on about 15 pounds, have a bloated belly, had jaw and tooth pain for the first couple of weeks on the meds, severe leg cramps, muscle pain in my shoulders, abnormally heavy periods (more frequent), and have been on edge and agitated to the point of driving away my family and boyfriend. On New Year's Day I stopped taking my meds and on Jan 6th woke up feeling like a million bucks!

Avatar f tn Hi ..right leg broken severly after 7 months no improvement in bone..
1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.

Avatar f tn Has anyone broken their pelvis during pregnancy? I broke mine in a car accident years ago and never had any problems with my first baby. This baby dropped at 28wks and my dr says he is almost certain this baby has broken it again. I'm scheduled for csection next week, which is a huge relief with the pain, but he said it could take 6-12wks to heal. Was wondering what other peoples experience was? Did it get better after delivery?

Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Our feet are often taken for granted, aren't they? Then something goes wrong with them and we are reminded how important they are in our daily lives. If you are continuing to have pain and now 'walk with a limp' I would definitely recommend you go see your doctor to examine it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone broken their Tibia and fibia? I broke mine two years ago and am still having problems. I have a plate and eleven screws. I am thinking of having them taken out in the hopes that it will releive some of the discomfort. Any information from someone who has done this would be great.
Avatar n tn Tibia is the shin bone that bears most of the weight and the Fibula is the splint bone located on the outside of the lower leg. In the case of a closed fracture there may be swelling and discolouration due to the large amounts of blood that emanate from a fractured bone. The usual healing time for a mid-shaft Tibia and Fibula fracture treated with cast immobilisation is 12 to 16 weeks.
