1196614 tn?1265075773 Greetings, So here's what happened to me and my current concerns: I had a auto accident and I broke the tibia and fibula bones. After 12 days in the hospital without having the surgery on my leg I was told by the doctors that it wouldn't matter the long waiting...Ok so, when I finally got the surgery and after seeing an X-ray of my leg I had some questions from my own. I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray.
Avatar m tn On December 5, 2013, i broke my tib fib playing soccer. The bones both broke in half and were displaced. The orthopedic surgeon said i didn't need surgery and my bone was repositioned and i was put in a cast. I had my sixteenth birthday with a cast on my right leg and i have had to cancel my driving test as i can't drive with a cast on. I will be with a full walking cast for another 2 weeks (its been 5) and then i will have a short walking cast for another 3 weeks.

Avatar f tn 2 weeks ago I was hit by a car and had my leg broken, the knee socket crushed and my shoulder broken. They performed surgery on the knee about 12 days ago and are about to do surgery on the shoulder. Both are on the left side. Is there any set up I can use that will allow me to walk in any way? As I understand it I will not be able to use a crutch on my left side. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Last Sunday I came home to find my wife sat behind the front door, she said Brian I have broken my leg, She had been putting seed in the bird feeders and fell from the ladder , then crawled all the way up the garden ,through the house to unlock the door so I could get in. SHE was blue lighted to the hospital she has broken her TIBIA below the knee and another bone .
Avatar n tn I was given the choice to do a cast or metal rod with pins through my leg for a speedy recovery in witch i choose. It was put through the lower part of my leg down to my ankle Big mistake! I can't even walk a mile without my leg killing me. Hurts from my Knee down to where there is a small bump (feels like bone) on top of my ankle. I need to know if the rod and pins can be removed? If so how fast is the recovery and will the pain go away?
Avatar f tn The surgery was L4-5 and the surgeon reported that the prolapse was severe ans that there were multiple fragments of disc material which had broken away. For the first 10 days following surgery I had no leg pain at all - it was like a miracle! However, over the last few days, the leg pain has begun to return. It is mainly when I lie down and although it is not as severe as before surgery, it is enough to keep me awake at night and i have had to begin taking pain medication again.
Avatar f tn Hii. Two weeks ago I had surgery that removed my right ovary and tube due to a large complex ovarian cyst and several small ones. When I woke up, I experienced pressure and a numbing pain in my right leg. Now, I'm starting to feel like my hips are closed in and especially on the right side, I feel like there is a tennis ball in my hip bone that's causing pressure and that same numb pain. Anyone else had a similar situation? I'm really starting to freak out. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I am going to have surgery quite soon for my herniated/broken disc. I wondered how long if anyone has had this, how long is recovery? I mean how long for pain? WIll I feel great right away and be able to do normal things? Now, a relative who thinks they are the only one with pain and mostly lies, so I don't know whether to believe them or not said our grandfather had the surgery and was up literally dancing right after surgery that day.
Avatar n tn On 8/03/10 i also have had a tlif l4-s1 with a complete laminectomy due to l4 and l5 disk herniating and really bad lightning bolts of pain shooting down my rear and left leg. Today is 9/03/10 one month sence i had the surgery. I fell while walking/light grocery shopping 2 weeks ago. So my dr. had me an appontment on 9/01/10 to make sure i didnt screw up anything in my back. I went and had some xrays taken before the dr. appontment.
Avatar n tn I just had spinal fusion surgery, but less extensive than yours was. I am not having any leg weakness or difficulty walking at all. I am 7 weeks post op. I think you should call your surgeons office and run this by them, just to be on the safe side. As Tuck says, these symptoms *can* happen, but as always, if it seems severe and is occuring 12 weeks post op, I personally would want my surgeon to be aware and to have it documented in my medical records.
Avatar m tn As a result, I required nearly 10 hours of surgery to repair two badly broken legs and L forearm. During my recovery, my L femur was the most painful of my broken bones. However, since it healed, it has been the injury that has never caused any further issues/pain. Well, that is up until about 6 months ago when my femur started aching. Over the past few months, it has progressed to aching pretty much constantly.
Avatar n tn corrective surgery may have irratated the nerves causing these symtoms and will dEcrease the problems in a few weeks

Avatar f tn I had open back fusion surgery feb 22nd of this year. Been doin ok slowly improving til bout 2 weeks ago or so. This is what I am now experiencing. It hurts fiercely to log roll out of bed, stand up, sit, or walk. I hear and feel a "popping noise and sensation" and then feel this shooting, piercing, sharp agony pain. When lying down, its more painful and difficult to roll to the right then the left, I get that popping feeling in my fusion site accompanied with this horrific pain.
Avatar n tn My question is are these infections due to my knee surgery, can they effect my recovery of my knee surgery or are they just different problems although? I know they said infections can be very dangerous.
Avatar f tn 2 months ago while roller skating I broke my leg. I was fine with that even though I broke it good enough that I needed surgery and would not be allowed to walk for 6 months. A week after I broke it I was in the hospital when suprise they told me I was also pregnant. They had no choice they needed to do surgery so they did a spinal tap which they felt would be safest for the baby After a few visits to thw dr now it looks like this is a viable pregnancy and I'm almost 10 weeks.
Avatar n tn Clean break all the way through, no displaced. I had surgery to lock the bones in place to accelerate healing. The doctor noticed my ankle was loose and said my deltoid ligament was stretched, but not completely torn. I am going for a post-op appointment on 6/30. I broke my ankle 6/10, and had surgery 6/17. Basically, they are saying that I'll need to go in a cast for 6 more weeks. That means before I can walk it will be 9 weeks from the injury date.
1139165 tn?1261202079 I had a lot of fear around the surgery the results and the recovery of the surgery. Several times I also caught myself thinking about the sanctioned high I may get from the pills I would need for pain. I came up with a safety plan. First I told people in my support system about the situation. Second I keep a log of all the medication I took on a note pad dedicated solely for that purpose. Third I encouraged my bf,counselor, doctor, sponsor etc.. To count my pills and verify my medicine log.
