Avatar f tn m wondering if this is because I still need to build up strength in my leg or a combination of the strength and maybe the metal hitting tendons and causing pain. Is this normal a little over a year after?
1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.
Avatar f tn (let me apologize in advance if this msg is jumbled, confusing, and my grammar is poor... some of my family members think the TV should be loud enough so the people in the house beside us can hear it) Hi everyone. I'm new to the website but thought it may be a great place to ask my question. Okay, so here's the situation. 8 years ago while crossing the street I was struck by a car driven by a drunk driver.
Avatar m tn however that does sound like thats whats going on...if she had broken a hip or leg she would be in tremendous pain when you touched the area....try and have a good look at her paw, is there a tear or something embedded in her pad? a torn nail? if thats the case you will need to keep a watch on incase of infections.. Keep a close watch on her today perhaps that will give you more clues. An xray would be needed if you start to suspect a break. best to kitty, please keep us posted.
Avatar f tn For the first 10 days following surgery I had no leg pain at all - it was like a miracle! However, over the last few days, the leg pain has begun to return. It is mainly when I lie down and although it is not as severe as before surgery, it is enough to keep me awake at night and i have had to begin taking pain medication again. I am terrified that the operation has failed.
Avatar m tn As a result, I required nearly 10 hours of surgery to repair two badly broken legs and L forearm. During my recovery, my L femur was the most painful of my broken bones. However, since it healed, it has been the injury that has never caused any further issues/pain. Well, that is up until about 6 months ago when my femur started aching. Over the past few months, it has progressed to aching pretty much constantly.
Avatar f tn Have a broken leg, pain is exceuciating at night. Is there any pain medicine I can take that would be okay for baby? Or just Tylenol...
Avatar n tn I was given the choice to do a cast or metal rod with pins through my leg for a speedy recovery in witch i choose. It was put through the lower part of my leg down to my ankle Big mistake! I can't even walk a mile without my leg killing me. Hurts from my Knee down to where there is a small bump (feels like bone) on top of my ankle. I need to know if the rod and pins can be removed? If so how fast is the recovery and will the pain go away?
Avatar n tn And I have noticed that it is extremely hard to raise my pinky finger off the table, and once I get it off about a mm, I feel a sharp pain. Is there a way I can fix this pain, or some expercised that I can use to strengthen my finger? I also have terrible grip now.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, having trouble with a broken neck and also wondering what comes next, finding it hard to find information online. Hoping anyone who's been through the same or anyone with some medical knowledge won't mind sharing with me. First let me get you up to date quickly. Big car crash, lucky to be alive, numerous broken bones, c1 vertebrae smashed to pieces, c2 broken. Its been about 4 1/4 months now, the other bones are healed, I've been out of my neck brace nearly a month.
Avatar f tn In one, someone ran the red light (mine was green). Left me with broken spleen and a broken kidney and a bunch of cracked ribs. I made a full recovery with no medical intervention. In the other, I was on a motorcycle. A car coming down this mountain road, with sharp and twisting turns, could not negotiate the turn-too much speed- and cut me off completely. I actually had an N.D.E. then. From the scene that I "observed " from up above, my lifeless body was a real mess.

Avatar m tn After undergoing 2 more surgeries to move muscle and fix blood flow issues and another surgery to do a minor bone graft and bone marrow aspiration, there has still been no bone growth. The pain on the outer most side of her right leg has gotten worse since the Plastics dog removed 2 inches of skin to decrease the necrotised skin (this action put more pressure on the still un-fixated broken fib). Another appointment has been setup for the 23rd to determine what path we take next.
1282316 tn?1279565682 I have been recently having severe lower leg pain in my right leg, feels like the bone is broken but I know its not. My question is does Osteoarthritis cause this much pain?
Avatar m tn about a day ago some light bruising in my leg with some pain in the groin and leg area. But no swelling, pus or redness in the operation site. Is this normal or of any concern??
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago I had surgery that removed my right ovary and tube due to a large complex ovarian cyst and several small ones. When I woke up, I experienced pressure and a numbing pain in my right leg. Now, I'm starting to feel like my hips are closed in and especially on the right side, I feel like there is a tennis ball in my hip bone that's causing pressure and that same numb pain. Anyone else had a similar situation? I'm really starting to freak out. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I am going to have surgery quite soon for my herniated/broken disc. I wondered how long if anyone has had this, how long is recovery? I mean how long for pain? WIll I feel great right away and be able to do normal things? Now, a relative who thinks they are the only one with pain and mostly lies, so I don't know whether to believe them or not said our grandfather had the surgery and was up literally dancing right after surgery that day.
