Last night we opened our backdoor to find a stray kitty (adolescent male). I noticed he was malnourished and gave him some milk and chicken (all I had for an animal). Then I noticed he was favoring one leg. I think it might be broken! I've called a few places and no one wants to deal with him, of course. They're just going to want to euthanize him instead of help him.
So my question is this--- what do I do?!?!?!?!
We had sex -intercourse and oral with condom and and the end he ejaculated on my skin (vaginal area but not inside) and thigh. I had some four day old tiny scabbed over cat scracthes on my leg and had shaved my vagina earlier that night although there were no cuts of sores. Is there a risk from this outside the body contact . Sorry my question mark key is broken.
I wanted him seen ASAP because of the broken rear leg. The x-rays showed that the injury was about a month old and that it was already healed. It wasn't just a little break but the femur was actually snapped off. In order to fix it, they'd have to do a surgery that costs over $1500. Or... amputation (around $450- including pain meds).
My question is--- do we HAVE to do anything? When we found him he wouldn't walk on the leg and I thought it was a new injury.
So my kitten and my sisters puppy were playin about an hr ago, this is normal, but i did not see what happend, but my cat schreeched and the puppy ran from him, but he would not put weight on the leg, he let me pick him up and pet him and he started purring, and he laid down for a few and he is still hesitant to walk on it, but i felt all up and down the leg and he didnt meow or pull away, he just seemed unsure to let me touch it. I am just wondering if he is ok or should i take him to a vet?
a month ago, my 6yr old house cat was Dx with bladder stones. He was placed on antibiotics and we buy special food as well. Tonight the cat started moaning and favouring his back leg like it was broken. Is there any way the 2 could be related, or do you think it is an entirely different stiuation. Thanks in advance, Ryan.
My 6 yr old female cat jumped from a tree branch about 5 ft high. She is always jumping up onto ledges or down from them, she jumps very high, always climbing trees, etc. Anyway, her front paw is now swollen and she will not walk on it, she limps all around. She does not seem to be in pain, she still goes up and down the steps and jumps on and off the furniture and beds, going to the food dish etc.
I, too, found a stray with a problem. My cat's leg was broken and the vet recommended amputation. They could either surgically create a hip for the cat or amputate it's leg so that the cat could jump and run around!
heh heh I got my cat a cat tree also. I got it on special. Don't get it at any pet stores. Those blood sucking insects. You can get them online, like I did, for a lot less money. Also, see if he likes catnip. The majority of cats respond well to catnip. They look so funny. I spread it in the bathtub (not in my bathtub, the cat's) and there he goes, rolling around acting all crazy about his catnip.
I'm glad you're keeping him inside. Don't let him get out even if he begs.
We found Beckett a few months ago as a 9-month-old stray that was malnourished with a broken leg. I took pity on him, while my husband ranted about not wanting a pet behind me, and he's been with us ever since. He's even won over the heart of my husband (in just a few hours, actually, LOL!). He's a blue-point Siamese and is gorgeous!
I hope you have already taken her to the vet, since this could be serious. Loss of leg functioning could be caused by a stroke or blood clots...that happened to one of my cats when she was only 2 years old. The emergency vet thought she had broken a leg, but couldn't find any fractures (this was in the middle of the night over the weekend), the next morning, when she lost functioning of two more legs, she had to be put to sleep. It still makes me cry just thinking about it...
I found her below with only a limp on her back right leg. She had pain in the leg and for a day or two just slept in the bed. After observing her for a couple of day I noticed that she continued to use the litter box (although in pain) continued to eat well and play. Now she even runs around and seems to have her same attitude as before, but she doesn't use her back right leg. It seems that the problem is in her hip.
It might indicate a strained tendon. If it were a broken bone, she would not walk on the leg at all. When you are looking at her foot, also look at her leg for any possible bites, and also feel her shoulder. So far, it doesn't sound bad. But if you happen to find a bite, get her in to see the vet as soon as possible.
Is a broken leg (3 places) and Pneumothorax an automatic death sentence if they removed the air once and i filled up again The x-ray showed about l1/2 ins of space between the stomach wall and lung.
Binx was hit by a car and they put him to sleep It wasn't because it would cost to much to Fix him either, it wasn't brought up.
Just wondering if we did the right thing by fully trusting the Vet.
He has a broken leg (possibly two broken legs) and may be paralyzed, a broken tail that has to be amputated, a gash on his backside, a gash in his face and possibly a broken pelvis along with possible internal injuries. The vet couldn't tell how bad his injuries are right away because they are waiting on him to come out of shock.
My usually active 13 wk old kitten was fine this morning, but tonight is wanting to sleep without eating and is limping on the right front leg. I presume he and our older cat who normally romp throughout the day and night either got rough or the kitten attempted to jump down from too high.
He is refusing to eat tonight so I've been giving him liquidized canned food via an eye dropper every hour...two to three eye droppers. To much complaining I might add.
He has no fever...
and I think that they broke his foot/leg. I talked to a friend, and she said that she could feel popping in her heel when she moved it around, and everytime he jumps off of the counter or bed, he starts moaning really loud. I don't really know exactly what it is that's hurting him, it's been like a month or less since he got it. Do you know what it is? And if so, what's an estimate of how much it would cost to fix it?
