Avatar n tn I've had my left ankle broken on sept 29, it was a fibula frature with a tibia dislocation, was on splint for a week, had surgery on oct 7th,plate + screws + a very long screw to place my tibia on the right place, splint for another week, then my orthopedist put me on aircast Air Stirrup Universe since then. He told me to start physical therapy a week after surgery, but I waited until 2 weeks. Now my foot hurts on an area that has nothing to do with the fracture.
Avatar n tn my 11year old son fell the side of his foot is a little swollen and bruised and says he has shooting pains
3763041 tn?1354906251 Smashed my foot on the door frame like a dummy and totally broke my poor baby toe:-( its like smashed up into my foot at my mil is going to set it for me :-( i'm so dumb, i'm not going to the doc, it should have no effect on my pregnancy or baby right? I figure its just a toe and I don't need a doc, just gotta take care of it so it heals right?
Avatar f tn I did the same thing, but dropped a food processor blade on my foot. I have the same symptoms as you report. Did you get an answer from this forum?
1308443 tn?1302693321 Last night I did a front flip on the trampoline and when I landed on my back my right heel came down hard on my left foot. I thought it was fine and kept jumping. When I jumped it felt like someone stabbed my foot. I went inside and looked at it. It was swollen and bruised. So I iced it. I got up this morning and I can't move the toe next to my pinky and whenever I put any weight on that part of my foot it hurts really bad. The top and bottom of my foot are swollen.
Avatar f tn m surprised a foot doctor wants to biopsy for a fibula fracture, which is located above the foot. Does he specialize in ankles as well, if that's what part of the fibula he found the the break in? What diagnostic tests did he order that he is able to charactarize as cyst-like calcifications? Did he explain why he felt biopsy was warranted? If you are not comfortable with this surgery, I recommend you cancel until you can get a second opinion from perhaps an orthopedic surgeon.
Avatar m tn X-Rays have shown that it is not broken, and physical exam has shown that it is not sprained. The pain is on the outward side of my right ankle. It is a sharp pain whenever I put weight on it, but it also hurts to try to lift my foot up off the floor. Often times it hurts when I am just sitting and not moving. I cannot bend my foot up or down, and have difficulty moving my toes. The Dr. suggested that it could be some type of nerve damage, but I am unsure of what the symptoms are.
Avatar n tn I fell off of a platform, which is about 6 feet high. Landed on my left foot and right heel. It hurt immediately and has hurt since (it's now the third day after the injury). It's getting slightly better every day - meaning that I am able to put more and more weight on it. There is slight bruising on the outside / right side of my right foot. No bruising on the back of the heel, the bottom, or the left. There was very little bruising around the ankle, but there is none now.
Avatar f tn I can also put weight on the foot without the boot with no issue, as the strength is now back in that leg/foot. I can also walk on it without the boot with no issues but stiffness and inability to bend the front ball of my foot yet. I take vitamin C+D and I do not smoke. I am 24, in good health as I have no problems. Is it strange for it to take 10 weeks before I start physio? Everywhere I read it says 6 weeks for this type of fracture to heal, even with surgery.
Avatar m tn 2 days ago I woke up with a rash on the palm of one of my hands that resembled athlete's foot. The symptoms were also the same, with a burning and itching sensation. Red, semi-raised bumps can be seen on the tops of my palms and around the finger joints, but only on the bottom of my hand. On the tops of my hand are smaller, less reddened blistery bumps.
Avatar f tn It may be a blood clot or a broken foot!

Avatar f tn I presume that a piece of the toothpick has broken and some of it is stuck in your foot. It needs to get removed and if there is no one at home to help you to get it out (depending on which part of your foot it has gotten into), you may need to make an appointment to see the nurse so that she can get that piece out for you. Sometimes the body has a way of getting rid of small things like splints and an infection with pus may occur and then the piece will be pushed out with the rubbish.
Avatar f tn My left foot has been swollen for two weeks. I havent done anything to it or have i got bitten. I have tried ice pack , heating pad, proping it up. Nothing has worked. what could be the problem?
Avatar f tn suffered broken ankle in May 2010. Had surgery with plate and screws to fix. 2 weeks no weight bareing, 8 + weeks in camwalker boot - weight bearing as tolerated. Then moved to right ankle element brace and cane. Have completed 2 sessions of PT. Have chronic pain i ... [More] n foot/ankle with every step I take. Both my foot/leg are still swollen and discolored. Taking pain meds daily. Recently returned to work (4 hours per day sitting).
Avatar f tn I had surgery that night with the ortho plating the bone and securing with 8 screws. I had some swelling issues with the first cast and was unable to have my foot unelevated at all. If I did, my toes turned blue and I felt an intense swelling in the area of my ankle. I saw the ortho yesterday and had my cast replaced. The surgeon did not spend much time with me and wouldn't let me ask any question.
Avatar n tn Im still not walking, or putting any pressure on it, and the doctor said that it is healing very slowly.. when i take off my boot brace, my foot is very crooked when it is flat on the ground. the doctor doesnt seem to know what is wrong. he said that the ex-ray looks straight, and everything looks good. it looks like my foot is just flopping over to the side.. i am concered that this will always be like this.. does anyone know if this is normal? please get back.
Avatar f tn A few months back I fell down the stairs and injured my foot. I was told there was no point in having an x-ray and it will heal on it's own. They never really told me anything. Every so often it flares up causing a great deal of pain. My foot is really stiff in the morning my toes are quite stiff and it really hurts.I've got a constant pain down the outer side of my foot and across the top.
1196614 tn?1265075773 I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray. The response was that the fibula was already healing and there was no reason to attach pins or screws to it and also they said that fibula bone does not support the body weight at all. I just wanted to have an opinion to make sure that I will not have problems in the future with my leg because of the fibula bone is now on that position.
Avatar m tn my second toes on both feet swelled, which they never have done before... my right foot is finally healing from a broken toe from 5 months ago... have osteopenia...poor circulation? neuropathy? blood clot? can't see my dr. for 3 more weeks! seems like something is really wrong...
Avatar f tn s broken, but how could that happen in bed? I had a broken foot as a child and it felt this same way. You might need to know that I am diabetic. I take medicine for it, not insulin. Like I said, this is March. The reason I tell you this is because just about a year ago at about this same time, this exact same thing happened to me while I was visiting at my daughter's house. Woke up, RIGHT foot was swollen, red, painful, no bugbite, and for 4 days I had to have help walking.
