7473580 tn?1398228610 Oatmeal is awesome in helping produce more milk!! Also try Taking fenugreek capsules with another herb called blessed thisle. Both in capsules 3/5 times daily. There is also a great tea to add to those remedies, it's called Mother's Milk, it's awesome and very successful in helping increase milk supply (healthy lactation). You can find these online, in your local herb shop and some local grocery stores may carry them as well!! Congratulations mama!!
Avatar f tn Fennel essential oil around the breast will increase milk production. Fenugreek, mother's milk tea, brewers yeast, lactation cookies, maxi milk, plenty of water and frequent nursing or pumping.
8924846 tn?1410572901 So I'm kinda nervous. I know everyone is different, but I'm really worried that I won't produce any milk or produce enough to feed my son. I want to breast feed because I know it's what's best for him. I'm 26w 2d. The thought of not being able to do what's best for him really upsets me. Is there any tips anyone has on what I can do while pregnant that may help with breast milk production? Or things that may cause someone not to produce?
Avatar f tn Have you tried using a Breast pump? She'll still be getting breast milk, without the direct contact. The Manual pump is about $35 at Walmart Avent. Make sure you keep your nipples clean.
Avatar f tn When my little man was about 4 months old I had the pleasant experience of battling yeast on my breast. They itched and were sore almost the entire time I pumped for my little man. The yeast infection never went away with meds or creams. I was checked for diabetes because that is a sign of diabetes but the doctor told me that if anything my sugar was low and it wasn’t the cause of the yeast growing.
Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
Avatar f tn I drink a lot of milk a day because I'm going to be breast feeding and I heard drinking milk and eating cheese helps. How healthy is it to drink milk while pregnant? How much does the baby get from it and also I'm a huge coffee drinker lol I'm 37 weeks pregnant. Is it okay to drink coffee now or while breast feeding?

Avatar m tn As I stated before, suggest giving your child the daily amounts of food that I wrote in the previous answer. If you are giving him milk as breast milk, then give it in the amounts stated. Your child is underweight and needs to grow. Food is the only way he will grow. The problem with his eye maybe only a muscular issue not diet related.
Avatar f tn Beer has brewers yeast in it, which helps increase milk supply.
Avatar n tn Does having a c-section delay the formulation of breast milk. I know that colostrum is already in the breast. With first child I struggled with BF and am wondering if I just lacking good instruction or was my body not ready for the baby yet.
Avatar n tn Her weight is below the 5th percentile and her height is just below the 25th percentile for her age. Have you pumped to check your breast milk production? At 10 months old she does not need to be breast feeding every 3 hours. Guideline for a 9-12 month old child should eat the following: Breast-milk or Formula (6-8oz) 3-5 feedings a day, Dairy 1 serving a day – cheese (1/2 oz) or yogurt (1/2 cup).
Avatar n tn I made a recipe with flaxseed and Brewers yeast. Worked great and tasted good too. A little more expensive to make than regular cookies due to the Brewers yeast and other special ingredients, but they last a while. There are some really good resources include La Leche league which gives helpful articles on food and tricks to increasing supply. Pump when you can if baby doesn't take the other breast because it will stimulate milk production.
Avatar f tn My baby was in the nicu and got used to using bottles and gets too frustrated to wait for my milk when breast feeding so he pulls away so I just pump and feed him using bottles but throughout the day my output is low and my stock in the fridge is running low, what can I do to quickly boost my supply?
280369 tn?1316702041 Did you have antibiotics prior to giving birth? You could have a yeast infection IN you milk ducts...I did and the breast pain was excrutiating! BUT it went undiagnosed for almost 2m because I didn't show any signs on my nipples... Your chills etc sound mastitis-ish though... Maybe a day of rest will help BUT if your breasts keep hurting, see a dr... read this and see if it seems like your symptoms...
5722879 tn?1373082735 t think I even produced milk. My breast were a little swollen, but not severely. I never leaked, they never hurt. I breastfeed for 1 week, she continued to cry like she was hungry right after feeding, so I stopped, and went to formula. I REALLY WANT TO SUCCEED THIS TIME AROUND. Does anyone have any good advice to lead me down the right path. I have read several entries on breast feeding, but I'd like to know from someone who has also struggled, BUT OVERCOME this issue. Thank you.
Avatar f tn U can also try fenugreek supplements. Mothers milk tea. The more u feed baby the higher the production of milk. Its not suggested to pump in the first 4 weeks.
Avatar f tn But now I have this burning feeling in my breast and read that it could be a yeast infection. It just started yesterday and today I decided to stop feeding him by my breast and just pump. I'm boiling all bottle and pump supplies for 20min. Do I need to see a doctor or can I get rid of it on my own since it just started? Or is it something else and I'm just freaking out?
