Most breast-feed infants do not like infant formula and need it mixed with breast milk to accept it. If the bottle of infant formula tastes like breast milk she will accept the bottle more. Try mixing ¾ breast milk and ¼ infant formula at first. If she does accept it, then after a week or so, try doing a bottle mix of ½ breast milk, and ½ formula. If you wish, you can gradually go to a bottle mix of ¼ breast milk and ¾ formulas, then totally to all formula depending on how she accepts it.
My baby girl ha just turne 4 months.On her last check up she lossed .9 kg. She was on breast milk only bu ther mom went back to work when she was 3 months and so she had to be intoduced to other milk sources an she was sleeping a bit longer to so her feeding space also increased . however since her mom started expressing more milk she seems to be getting her weight up.
Start with ¾ breast milk and ¼ Pedisure or Milk, go to half and half, then ¼ breast milk and ¾ Pedisure or Milk, and finally to all Pedisure or Milk. You can do each mix every 3-4 days as long as she is accepting the mixture. She will get used to the Pedisure or Milk taste gradually. Suggest trying other dairy sources, such as yogurt and cheese, too once she accepts milk and or Pediasure. Hoped this helped you.
I Had the same problem,I'm a ftm. You need to stimulate your breast try using a breast pump if you have one or ask your partner to suck them that also helps a lot. Hope This helps and drink plenty of fluids. You will be fine. Good luck dear.

I have been exclusively breast feeding on demand. We went to the week check up on her for low birth weight and she weighed 4 pounds 8 ounces. The doctor said that was normal and to continue to breastfeed. She is having latching and sucking problems so she gets really frustrated after 10 minutes and eventually gives up but I keep trying to get her to feed. The doctor told me to come back 3 days after that visit for another weight check and she lost 3 more ounces!

If a women doesn't wear the proper bra this type of thing will happen. The suggestion I can make is to take your girl to a store where they do proper bra fittings (like Dillard's) and get her measured and find a proper bra that will hold her breast tissue in place.
Hello everyone I'm a second time mommy. I had my son yesterday morning. He's a premature baby boy. (35 weeks) I don't have no breast milk. I been pumping milk for 10 minutes each one. And all I get is little drops of milk. I feel bad I want to breastfeed my premature baby. To help him gain some weight and give him the vitimins he needs.I don't want to leave him at the hospital I want to take him with me.
When do you know you are producing milk? My mom wasn't able to produce with me and I am wondering if you can know that before the baby comes? Or if my doctor can tell.
