Common Questions and Answers about Breast milk warmer

milk

435139 tn?1255460391 It will warm it up just enough. Also they say not to put breast milk in a microwave...I know a bottle warmer is a little differant. But warming breast milk up to much will break up the vitamins and stuff like that in it. Cold or warmed with water is all you will need.
1938385 tn?1332068714 hi mums id like some insight here im 20 weeks and im going to breast feed when the milk comes out its warm right? so once expressed and put in fridge can u warm up breast milk or do they have it cold and how do u go about doing this? sorry if u think i should know this its just this is my first child so i dont know what to expect.
9771234 tn?1405793808 I never warmed milk or formula. At most I would thaw frozen breast milk under hot running water and just use room temp water for formula. My reason for doing it like that is so baby doesn't get accustomed to only drinking warm milk.
Avatar f tn I hated it. I used the micro and was careful but I formula fed. You aren't supposed to microwave breast milk...but seriously a pan of hot water on the stove works better then bottle warmers...those things are a joke.
Avatar f tn If you are breastfeeding and baby will get some pumped milk when you are gone it can be warmed in a bowl of hot water. For formula if you give them room temperature from day one that will be all they know and will be fine with it.
9442948 tn?1406816451 Is it the same thing? Either way baby is getting breast milk right? I want to pump so my husband can feed baby also but i want the benefits from breast feeding also, For example will pumping still shrink my uterus size & help lose weight like breast feeding does? And will baby still get the vitamins from it?
9414151 tn?1406839268 I would think Each one varies.
Avatar f tn Thank you ladies! I heard the microwave takes away the nutrients if its breast milk so ill be putting it under warm water!
Avatar f tn Breast milk can be stored in the freezer for 6 months. When you take it out put it in a bottle in a pot of hot water, don't put it in the microwave. & no it shouldn't be watered down.
590110 tn?1367506741 i have a question on breast feeding,i just recently received a breast pump.. if i storesome milk in the fridge how do i heat it up for late night feedings? do i even have to place it in the fridge or do i leave it out??? i don't want it to spoil causing him you get sick..
Avatar f tn Everything Octobermomx2 said and a baby bath onesies, crib, fitted sheets for crib, nipple cream if your beast feeding, diapers, wipes, stroller, car seat, baby monitor, bottles and bags to put breast milk in maybe some alcohol strips if you plan on having some drinks after and want to check and see if there is alcohol in the milk. Sorry long list but just some ideas.
Avatar f tn yes i don't think he drinks enough he always falls asleep while in my boob.
Avatar f tn What do I do with the breast milk? I just pumped 4oz of it and my baby drank only 1oz.... I don't have the milk bags to put them in yet but what do I do with the 3oz I have now? Put it in the fridge then put it in the bottle warmer for later when he wants more?
229857 tn?1319029907 you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days just make sure you date the milk also it can go in the freezer i think for upto 6 months and it is good to use the breast milk storage bags so you can date them also and then you can take them straight from the freezer and put the bag in the baby bottle warmer. when you buy the breast pump there should be a little book about breast feeding and everything that comes with it.
Avatar f tn And if you want to give bottles so family members can feed too then pump! I gave breast milk to my son till he was 9 months and only stopped then bc i stopped producing bc getting off schedule so bad but hoping to give my daughter breast milk for atleast that long hoping longer.
Avatar f tn ever use the microwave that goes for formula and breast milk. It can take all the good stuff out of the milk. I work at a daycare and we use bottle warmers and when we have more then one baby that needs theirs warm we even heat up some water and put the bottle in there for a min or so.
1995033 tn?1334163103 The medicine you're on...it doesn't affect your breast milk? Wondering why you can't breastfeed but you can pump, no big deal just curious. Some ideas for the big stuff: Stroller, swing, car seats (infant carrier type and convertible for when the baby's a little bigger, playpen (pack n play), high chair, breast pump, swing, walker/jumper, baby monitor.
Avatar f tn Probably just a growth spurt. I'd stick with breastfeeding and try to wake her up at the breast to finish. It's all supply and demand. . Your body will make enough milk to meet her needs. . It's when you start supplementing with a bottle that supply gets messed up.
Avatar f tn Diaper genie, breast pump, breast milk storage containers *Medela makes awesome breastfeeding products (if you plan on breast feeding), microwave bottle sterilizer, hooded towels and washcloths, a swing! (It will help save your sanity), dryer balls (I bought some as a natural fabric softener alternative), mittens, socks, hats, baby book 0-5 years, swaddle blankets (they can also double as burp cloths.
Avatar f tn Agree just pump and baby will still get the breast milk. The more u pump the more milk u will produce.
