breast milk wanted

Does anyone have advice on how i can keep my milk coming in? I would like to BF her as long as I can! I bought a breast pump (manual) to bring to the hospital so that i can start pumping to get it to come in a little quicker after she is born...but after it does come in, i want her solely to be on breastmilk. Any advice on how i can keep my milk coming in?!

Enough wet and poopy diapers and if the baby is thriving. Breastfeeding is a supply and demand thing so just let baby eat and you will produce enough. Make sure you drink water and stay hydrated.

Breastfeeding is very difficult and the less I fed and supplimented with formula, the less my son wanted my breast becaue the less milk I was producing. My son eventually weaned himself off of my breast by 2 months. My advice, keep trying to feed him only breast and make sure to pump if you do decide to suppliment. You want your body to think that you are nursing.

I wear a 40 G and with my last child I made so much milk I couldn't take it anymore and actually gave up nursing before I really wanted to. So no, not true for me.

Infant formula has the same nutrients for brain development as breast milk. The question why he stopped drinking the breast milk in the first place is an important one to ask. Did you wean him off, or you stopped producing breast milk, or he on his own stopped drinking it? These are questions needing to be answered before you decide to try to refeed him breast milk.

Ok so I'm having a hard time with my new born breastfeeding he won't attach to me no matter what so I had to be pumping because I really wanted him to drink breast milk.But I'm having trouble I'm drying out because I was out of town and forgot my pump! Usually breast pumps come with one or two bottles (depending on whether you got a single or double pump). Once you have pumped dump the milk into breast milk storage bags, or you can pour the milk into what ever type of bottles you and your baby prefer to use.

I have been planning on breast feeding my son. Is it possible that my milk could never come? You are supposed to pump every 2 hours for 10-15 minutes per breast. That is what your baby would typically be doing if they were to latch on because breast milk digest quicker and baby eats more often. I really salute the women that breast feed because it is a huge commitment and a full time job. Not me, I never wanted to. Tried for like a week and wasn't ok with it. Formula is perfectly healthy, of course your own milk is best but babies grow just as strong and healthy and have for many years. This is my second and I couldn't imagine trying to breastfeed with a toddler running around. Do what makes you comfortable and what fits your lifestyle!

They can live off breast milk for quite a while. It depends on if they latch/your milk production. If you have a good supply they dont need formula! It can also be frustrating if they dont latch, my niece never did and my sister got tired of pumping and having to keep track of all the milk so she only breast fed a few weeks.

I really want my baby to have breast milk for the first month or so, but really can't imagine actually breast feeding, so I was thinking about just pumping it.. I don't know the first thing about it. I had the milk ducts removed from my right breast a few years ago because of nipple discharge. Can you still get cancer in that breast with the milk ducts removed.
