8464451 tn?1409883976 I have big breast to from befor. And went up to a DD when I gave birth but thank God I didnt have problem breastfeeding. U just have to get in to a good position with the baby to. I used breastfeeding pillow which help aallooot(recomend) then I just focused on to make her suckle. I mostly use the technick that, I had my nipple between my pointy finger and middlefinger. It wil make only the nipplepart to pop out instead of the whole brown circle and that help my baby to latch on.
Avatar f tn I had my baby boy 5 days ago n i made the decision to bottle feed but my breast came in yesterday and my breasts really hurt. Is there anything i can do to dry up my breast milk? Ive tried cabbage leaves, ice packs n tylenol to relieve pain n swelling. Any other ideas?
Avatar n tn I used - of all things - breast milk.... soothed it right away and it was gone in 48 hours or so. Amazing.
1124862 tn?1303850973 i spoke to a lactation consultant, had the peds nurse help, used nipple shields, tried when she was really hungry, when she wasnt hungry, when she had eaten just a bit, in the morning afternoon evening and in the middle of the night, the cradle, cross cradle, and football positions, all in hope something would work, and nothing is... SHE WILL NOT LATCH.... I had been exclusively pumping till a few days ago when she got colic...
Avatar n tn she sleeps well, but the mucus gathers at the nose, it is not air borne since other members of our family do not contracr it. she starts pre-school september this year. can anybody share some light on this issue, i need some advice.
Avatar f tn Try mixing the formula with breast milk and slowly increase the milk and lower the amount of formula. You don't have to wean if you don't want to. It will just take time.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure why your wife thinks breast milk up the nose would help an infant with the flu. I can't imagine a doctor would think that would do anything. Glad you told her to stop. In general, hiv transmission to newborns takes place IN utero (before born). However, typically an HIV positive woman is not recommended to breast feed. I would say risk is very low if any. Call your baby's doctor to be sure but again, would think any risk is negligible. Is your wife considering Prep?
4182046 tn?1355820039 But I was a ftm. Youre milk will come in and my breast became engorged, do the warm compresses and express the milk by hand before feeding.. mine went away 3 days later. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn As above stated it doesn't matter if you get larger breasts or not. You can produce milk. If your planning to breastfeed a few suggestions are latch your baby ASAP. A lot of children get nipple confusion so wait 4 to 6 weeks before introducing any bottles or pacis the same rules apply with formula. Do not supplement until you have a good supply going. Your baby will go through growth spurts and will make you feel like you aren't producing.
Avatar f tn My lactation consultant showed me a new position because I was having the same problem. If you put baby's legs around one of yours like they're strattling it and breastfeed that way so they're sitting up it will help baby digest the milk better, and also keep baby upright for 10-15 minutes after feeding.
Avatar f tn Hats, socks maybe a breast pump ? & milk storage things. Crib & carseat, thermometer & baby bath tub.
Avatar f tn Youd be surprised how much milk you may or may not have! After i gave birth the brought me a hospital breast pump because my son was in the nicu and i couldnt see him right away and i filled up 4 8oz bottles all the nurse kept saying was you did a great job!
Avatar f tn Yes my sister in law did it and it work. She cut them in half and I think heated them up it was 6yrs ago.
Avatar f tn I found a YouTube video if ap pediatrician that recommended massaging the tear duct at the corner of the eye and bridge of the nose. He also said for breast feeding moms to drip breast milk in the eye. I thought I would give it a try before bed, and by morning the eye goop didn't come back and it was all better. Boob milk is magic!
Avatar f tn Breast milk contains the right balance of nutrients for your baby and formula doesn't do that..
590110 tn?1367506741 i have a question on breast feeding,i just recently received a breast pump.. if i storesome milk in the fridge how do i heat it up for late night feedings? do i even have to place it in the fridge or do i leave it out??? i don't want it to spoil causing him you get sick..
10380106 tn?1410962725 Please help! My baby had been latched on for over an hour (a little time for each breast) but still seems hungry. She nursed for over an hour going back & forth between breasts, &feel asleep on the breast as she usually does. But tonight, she won't go back to sleep. She keeps making the sucking nose add if she's still hungry. I gave her 25ml of milk I pumped earlier & she fell straight to sleep. But once I put her back in her bassinet, she's back up.
Avatar n tn by now your milk should have been dried up only usually takes a couple of weeks for it to dry up after stop feeding was you on your cycle when you noticed it sometimes you have milk then too. If your in pain or breasts are hard and hurt i would contact your gyn they can give you a pill to dry up faster.

3588173 tn?1357317184 Alright looks like I will be setting a couple alarms during the night to pump.
9038886 tn?1402125726 Thanks for the reassurance. She does feed, but it hurts me so much. It takes her a little while to latch i was thinking about just giving the bottle, it is so much easier. I love when she's getting the breast milk and she's full. Lol but its so much work.
Avatar f tn It will dry up in around 10 days,if you buy a cabbage now and put it in the freezer and use the cabbage leaves in your bra after it will help..
Avatar f tn Medela has an excellent chart that says 3-8 days in the fridge and 6-12 months in the freezer. If you defrost the frozen milk in the fridge though use it within 24 hours. All of the research I did basically said the same!
446156 tn?1275859576 The more he tries the better he will get at it. He gets a belly ache because the difference between breast milk and formula. Kroger makes a great brand Comforts, which is so much like breast milk.... also use the liquid. It gives them less gas than the power formula.
