7656727 tn?1404157447 So I finally got a pump today to get all my milk out and now it looks like I wont be making as much milk. Is there anything I can take to increase my milk supply?? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
136689 tn?1419580447 Hey ladies just wondering if there is anyway to increase milk supply besides pumping, I'm not feeling that full feeling anymore and blayde seems to have to suck a bit more than usual to stimulate me to let down, and i usually can get 150mls out of both breast after feeding but today could only get 50mls.
Avatar f tn Can wearing a sports bra to bed hurt my milk supply?!!!! They are so comfy to wear to bed!!!
741877 tn?1265950200 t have enough milk supply for my little one as I would notice he would be hungry and want to feed every hour but only for about 10 min or so then he'd fall asleep and repeat this for a few hours in the afternoon. I literally feel like all I was doing is sitting down and feeding him. Now I have to supplement with formula so that he gets enough food and then he is much more content and won't fuss every hour.
Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
Avatar f tn Drink lots of water....water made my milk supply be alot!!!
Avatar f tn t the right forum but I feel more comfortable asking questions here...I had my daughter on the 9th and at first I had a really good milk supply where my breast would become engorged every two hours if I didn't pump or feed regularly....and I was pumping 2/3 ounces from each breast every time.....now I can hardly get an half an ounce :(....I try to have my daughter on my breast every two hours but it seems like she gets so irritated because nothing is coming out....
741877 tn?1265950200 this is also another reason why I thought my milk supply is dwindling... I did notice that after a nice warm shower my right breast is leaking milk.. I guess this is a good sign that there's still some milk there??
Avatar f tn i will be breast feeding, and pumping so my boyfriend can have thay bond with the baby. i will also be freezing breast milk, im going to try to have enough breast milk for 6 months, weather its directly from me or frozen.
5612058 tn?1373576034 Enough wet and poopy diapers and if the baby is thriving. Breastfeeding is a supply and demand thing so just let baby eat and you will produce enough. Make sure you drink water and stay hydrated.
Avatar f tn Google recipes for lactation cookies and also shakes. Water water water do not drink milk! Also fenugreek reeeeally helps!
Avatar f tn m pumping every 2hrs and drinking plenty of water. Does anyone have any suggestions to increase my milk?
Avatar f tn Putting the baby to breast as much as possible is one of the best ways. When you supplement it lowers your milk supply and shouldnt be advised.
Avatar f tn I pumped last time as well. At first I would get 4 ounces or so each time but towards the end I would barely get an ounce. I heard oatmeal helped too.
Avatar f tn You can also eat some foods such as oats, almonds and yogurt to increase your milk supply. Have a balanced diet and drink water to stay hydrated.
Avatar f tn Idk if its just the breast pump I purchased that ***** or if im not producing enough milk.. I bought an evenflo electric pump from Wal-Mart it was only $60 so I didnt expect it to be amazing but at least get the job done. My baby usually drinks about 3 oz of milk when I pump and I can barely get that from one breast.
6036387 tn?1395008183 Its their suckling that stimulates the milk supply. I found pumping milk very hard esp in first few weeks.
Avatar n tn Your body is probably adjusting to the amount of milk your baby needs. Mine never felt hard even in the beginning. But if you want to try and up your supply make some lactation cookies.. Just Google a recipe for them. I know sounds silly but they help with milk supply. Also drinking milk helps and lots of water!!
Avatar f tn Then she will continue to suck and get breast milk. Pumping helps to increase milk supply and you could pump and feed while you transition.
Avatar f tn I would suggest looking up some recipes for lactation cookies and drinking lots and lots of water there is also something called mothers milk tea that might encourage your body to make more breast milk.
Avatar f tn I only breast fed my daughter for two weeks due to a botched csection that landed me back in the hospital. However, I understand that spicy foods, dairy products, coffee, chocolate, cabbage, onions, green veggies, and tomatoes. It can take 2 weeks for something to leave your system (& breast milk). Keep a journal of what you eat so you can go back and what may have upset baby's belly. Some babies are very sensitive, some can live with a free for all in mom's diet.
Avatar f tn My first son was born 12 years ago and I never produced any milk. I want to breast feed for new baby that is coming. I am 32 weeks. Does anyone have ideas how to boost milk supply? We have bought a host grade pump this time.
9020620 tn?1409884412 Stressing about it can keep you from getting a good letdown once you get your milk, and can delay your full supply from coming in. Warm showers. Drink lots of water. Stay away from peppermint, strangely enough. But mostly just take it easy and keep on nursing! Your milk will come in soon enough. Baby's nutritional needs are really minimal right now, the first few days they barely need more than a few drops of colostrum. Don't give up. You're doing a wonderful thing for your baby.

1205562 tn?1554747006 Of course there are other ways to increase milk supply such as Mothers Milk tea, napping, double pumping, making sure you're drinking plenty of water, etc. Remember this: if you do chose to drink a beer, dark beer (Guiness for example) is the kind to drink, and you don't need more than 1.
