Common Questions and Answers about Breast milk supply boosters

milk

Avatar f tn Fennel or basil essential oil around the breast can boost supply. Mother's milk tea, fenugreek, and maxi milk are other boosters.
Avatar f tn I breast fed my daughter and I always had extra to put in the fridge. I just had to pump at the time she usually had to feed and I kept producing alot of milk.
Avatar f tn t the right forum but I feel more comfortable asking questions here...I had my daughter on the 9th and at first I had a really good milk supply where my breast would become engorged every two hours if I didn't pump or feed regularly....and I was pumping 2/3 ounces from each breast every time.....now I can hardly get an half an ounce :(....I try to have my daughter on my breast every two hours but it seems like she gets so irritated because nothing is coming out....
741877 tn?1265950200 this is also another reason why I thought my milk supply is dwindling... I did notice that after a nice warm shower my right breast is leaking milk.. I guess this is a good sign that there's still some milk there??
Avatar f tn Then she will continue to suck and get breast milk. Pumping helps to increase milk supply and you could pump and feed while you transition.
7656727 tn?1404157447 So I finally got a pump today to get all my milk out and now it looks like I wont be making as much milk. Is there anything I can take to increase my milk supply?? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
3588173 tn?1357317184 Im getting about 2 oz from each side every pump is that average? @ktowne hes doin ok. Hes not eating too great. So they hooked him up to a feeding tube hopefully he doesn't need it long.
Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
2121625 tn?1350484749 def dont suppliment, it will be a growth spurt, just put him to breast as often as he wants and your milk supply will increase to his demands, also you shouldnt feel engorged anymore as your milk supply will be regulated by how much your bub is having :)
136689 tn?1419580447 Hey ladies just wondering if there is anyway to increase milk supply besides pumping, I'm not feeling that full feeling anymore and blayde seems to have to suck a bit more than usual to stimulate me to let down, and i usually can get 150mls out of both breast after feeding but today could only get 50mls.
Avatar f tn Can wearing a sports bra to bed hurt my milk supply?!!!! They are so comfy to wear to bed!!!
Avatar n tn Yup thats it!! Some woman leak quite alot while others don't. Whether you do or you don't, won't determine your milk supply. Keep putting baby on the breast to help stimulate the flow. Yehh I'm sure you'll be fine!
741877 tn?1265950200 t have enough milk supply for my little one as I would notice he would be hungry and want to feed every hour but only for about 10 min or so then he'd fall asleep and repeat this for a few hours in the afternoon. I literally feel like all I was doing is sitting down and feeding him. Now I have to supplement with formula so that he gets enough food and then he is much more content and won't fuss every hour.
Avatar f tn I have been pumping and storing breast milk for my princess and it seams like the amount is slowing down what can I do to get it back up I do not want to give her formula at all!
Avatar f tn It may cause you supply to decrease but any breast milk isngood! :) Have you tried pumping? If your already breastfeeding it would be much cheep er a deep your supply up..
Avatar f tn You'll produce milk after birth and then 10 days you should get your full supply in. Baby's can only hold a tablespoon of milk in their tummy until 6 days old so dont worry and they also make vitamins and teas for moms to help boost the supply.
Avatar f tn MY friend just had her daughter she's two months she was breastfeeding but stopped said she wasn't producing enough milk I want to breast feed also work so I'm planning to pump I really don't want to formula feed my son how can I make sure I have that milk supply coming in besides I heard it had lots of benefits for me and my son like low risk of SIDS and my sons dads oldest son died from SIDS and also I know it will help me loss weight so I don't want to give up on breastfee
Avatar f tn I would not recommend pumping before your milk supply comes after the baby is born it could cause you to go into preterm labor. I'm having my second and after my first I never stopped lactating even when I stopped breastfeeding. I still would leak collosum (don't know if that is spelled right) especially when he would cry.
Avatar f tn s worth it and your babies health will benefit even 50 years into future due to breastmilk. Pump more try nursing more and there are some herbal mothers milk teas to promote milk supply. You can do it!
1454858 tn?1306784378 I agree it shouldn't hurt if the baby has a proper latch. it can be a bit uncomfortable when your breasts are full and the baby first begins to suck, but as soon as milk begins to let down the discomfort should ease. I honestly believe that smaller breasts are an advantage while breastfeeding. I have (now)36EE's and while BFing I had FF's...so trying to maneuver the nipple was difficult and it was almost easy to move baby around to fit the nipple instead of vice versa...
5612058 tn?1373576034 Enough wet and poopy diapers and if the baby is thriving. Breastfeeding is a supply and demand thing so just let baby eat and you will produce enough. Make sure you drink water and stay hydrated.
Avatar f tn i will be breast feeding, and pumping so my boyfriend can have thay bond with the baby. i will also be freezing breast milk, im going to try to have enough breast milk for 6 months, weather its directly from me or frozen.
278664 tn?1319840159 Ok so a week ago I got really sick, throwing up and diareaha. I lost alot fluids that night and I'm breastfeeding. Well since then my milk has been very low. I have been trying to pump after each feeding to make sure I empty the breast to stimulate more milk, but it's not. I have been drinking alot of fluids, eating well. I've had to supplement almost every night with formula or with pumped milk.
