Breast milk storage glass bottles

Common Questions and Answers about Breast milk storage glass bottles

milk

Avatar f tn Personally I liked the playtex drop in bottles. I used the air vent ( I found they leak) and glass bottles (heavy to lug around) and Dr Brown's are a pain in the rear to clean. It's trial and error for you. I breast fed and the drop in bottles worked best for my milk storage containers. You can always try 1 or 2 of each and see what you like best.
Avatar n tn Glass bottles are great &; they do have some of them wrapped in like a 'decorative' rubber for when babyy is holding them his/her self to prevent dropping &; breaking but Medela, Tomme Tippie, Dr. Browns &; I can't think of the other one but they're also great for breast feeding &; storing milk. I'm also breast feeding nd going with Tomme Tippie because I loove how realistic the nipples are!
Avatar f tn I'm going to get the gerber bottles from walmart. My sister has them & they work fine so i thought I'd try them, but if I'm pumping what bottles would I store the milk in? Or should I just get storage bags?? & if i get storage bags do i just pour the milk in the bottle when im ready to feed? Ugh. So confused lol help!
9889855 tn?1412479178 html This is a good site on storage, and you can buy breast milk storage bags. You can freeze milk in them as well.
Avatar f tn Usually breast pumps come with one or two bottles (depending on whether you got a single or double pump). Once you have pumped dump the milk into breast milk storage bags, or you can pour the milk into what ever type of bottles you and your baby prefer to use.
7923170 tn?1412999504 Soo were on a very short budget and I want to breast feed to help with costs n not to mention its healthy for baby and me... My biggest concern is how to store the breast milk. I have an idea to use jelly jars my gram uses to freeze her strawberry jelly she makes... But I don't know if they would bust... I don't plan on filling them to the very tippie top.
Avatar f tn I still get plastic because they are cheap but the main ones I use is glass. And glass is better for breastmilk. Plus you run hot water on glass bottles and it warms milk up just right in like 2 minutes.
Avatar f tn Since you dont want to stick breast milk in microwave you have to boil the water and thaw out the milk that way and having the glass bottle is so wonderful as it wont melt. If you are breastfeeding i would suggest glass bottles, if you are just using formula than its not gonna matter.
Avatar f tn I am breast feeding. I need to know which bottles to buy for breast fed babies. And which storage is better the bag or bottle? I know there's a million out there I would like youre opinions because i don't know which to choose. I also like glass better then plastic.
229857 tn?1319029907 you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days just make sure you date the milk also it can go in the freezer i think for upto 6 months and it is good to use the breast milk storage bags so you can date them also and then you can take them straight from the freezer and put the bag in the baby bottle warmer. when you buy the breast pump there should be a little book about breast feeding and everything that comes with it.
621803 tn?1302888341 I posted this in the Breastfeeding community as well, but I figured I'd post her as well, since this community tends to get more visitors. I pump twice a day at work, and usually get around 14-15 oz out of those two sessions, so I bring 2 8 oz storage bottles with me and that's always been enough. But my breasts are apparently on overdrive today, and I just got 14 oz (!!) out of just the first session.
Avatar f tn Can you use different brands for breast feeding accessories for example if you have a medela pump can you use regular bottles and milk storage bags? or does everything have to be medela? thanks in advance foe your responses!
9842459 tn?1411688168 My bottles won't fit and I was wondering what did you use to store your breast milk in? I've looked at Walmart and the first years website. Can you use any milk storage bag? I have two bottles that came with the pump can I use them and just pour the milk in the storage bag? Or will that mess up with me pumping?

11294269 tn?1422402907 d add a bopping pillow, breast pump, breast milk storage bags. If not try to go with glass bottles...nothing wrong with trying to start with the best and healthiest way possible for your little gift from God. Also find out if your able to get WIC. Blessings!
Avatar f tn U actually freeze breast milk in special bags made for storage
7062489 tn?1388194102 For breastfeeding, I personally suggest a pump and storage (like bottles and/or freezer bags) for the milk.
Avatar n tn I have a question for all the moms out there. I am 39 weeks tomorrow it will be my second daughter my 1st is now 7 years old. With my 1st I did not breastfeed at all not in the hospital or out of the hospital she was on formula from day one. My question is now with my second I still do not plan on breastfeeding from my breasts it not something thats gonna ever be on my agenda, but I do want to pump and bottle feed.
Avatar f tn Our hospital hands out flyers with breast feeding and milk storage tips when you leave the hospital. I breastfeed but my little one didnt take a bottle so i cant help you with the tips! There are lots of guidelines though like how long in the fridge and or freezer and how long at room temp!
Avatar f tn Baby on breast will save you time pumping, cleaning supplies, buying expensive supplies such as bottles, breast pump, sterilizer bags, breast milk storage, dish detergent, cleaning racks, cleaning baskets, etc. (even though if you don't plan on using a pump, I still recommend a manual one just in case you need to leave your baby and a few bottles.) Whereas breast feeding from the breast gives you a special bond with your child. There is a lot of research out there about it.
Avatar f tn I'm trying to choose the best breast pump and milk storage system I can find. I travel extensively for work and I'll even be pumping in the car. I found the Kiinde system; which looks awesome. But, I'm not sure what I will be able to express from each breast at each pumping session. Ideally, I would like to pump directly into the storage bag, freeze it, thaw it, and feed directly from the bag. That is how the Kiinde system is intended to be used.
Avatar f tn I'm doing research about storage for breast milk. I want something that's cost effective and will work. I'm not looking to create a huge stash of frozen milk because I don't have the space in my freezer nor do I have a deep freeze (yay apartment living). I have looked into the disposable bags. What a money sink. Plus the reviews I read do not put much faith into me using them. I came across a mom's blog about using mason jars.
7409776 tn?1408929189 If breast feeding you will need a breast pump, breast pads, nursing bra, storage bags for milk, also some onesies and sleepers for baby. You will need alot more diapers than you have right now. Maybe a sling to carry baby? It's optional but it makes it easier for you to do stuff around the house. Lots of socks and mittens.
435139 tn?1255460391 I used it mostly to take the chill off of my expressed breast milk that had been in the freezer and thawed in the fridge. When we switched to formula, I made each bottle fresh at room temp and it was good enough. My best friend's daughter wanted her bottles warm though so she wound up having to buy a travel warmer for her car.
4194487 tn?1370046144 If i wanna go out one night how can i store all my milk? I only have like 4 bottles.. Can i pump it all into a litre bottle or something and then my mum can pour small amounts into baby bottles? I tried ringing a breastfeeding hotline but of course its too busy -.
4835896 tn?1369369421 I decided to put doctor Brown on my registry. I plan on alternating breast milk & formula . I have a friend who had twins & she tried Tommee tippee. She said that it was hard for both her babies to drink because the nipples were so big. Also Tommee tippee doesn't come in glass bottles , which are better for freezing milk... Even though Dr Brown's has all the extra parts I think its the best bet.
