Common Questions and Answers about Breast milk help

milk

Avatar n tn Try someone else offering the bottle to him, because you smell like breast milk. Also taste the milk if you offering formula, because breast milk is sweet, a lot of formulas taste horrid! Mostly I found it was just perseverance. If you dr has no problems with his poo-ing patern the don't force a change. It could cause problems where once there wasn't any. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Pump or hand express your milk from that breast until the sore clears. Pumping will help keep up your milk supply and prevent your breast from getting engorged or overly full. You can store your milk to give to your baby in a bottle for another feeding. But if parts of your breast pump that contact the milk also touch the sore(s) while pumping, you should throw the milk away.
Avatar f tn I'm breastfeeding my son and for about the past 24 hrs my left breast has not been producing much milk at all. I've noticed my breast has been smaller after long periods so I pumped to see and within a four hour period I will pump about 1 ounce. I don't just strictly have him on my breast. I pump as well. And store. My left breast has always produced less but now I feel as if I'm losing my milk supply. He's only 5 wks old and I do NOT want to stop breastfeeding.
Avatar f tn Never thought of this till now, what are you suppose to do with breast milk if you don't breast feed??? Does it go away on it's own?

7062489 tn?1388194102 Oh okay that makes sense :) I agree with the ladies above, breast pump, freezer bags for milk are great!, you'll probably want a nursing bra to, they make it so much easier!
5612058 tn?1373576034 Enough wet and poopy diapers and if the baby is thriving. Breastfeeding is a supply and demand thing so just let baby eat and you will produce enough. Make sure you drink water and stay hydrated.
Avatar f tn I really salute the women that breast feed because it is a huge commitment and a full time job. Not me, I never wanted to. Tried for like a week and wasn't ok with it. Formula is perfectly healthy, of course your own milk is best but babies grow just as strong and healthy and have for many years. This is my second and I couldn't imagine trying to breastfeed with a toddler running around. Do what makes you comfortable and what fits your lifestyle!
Avatar f tn they can give you something to help dry up your milk , I know along time ago they use to bind your breast (not recommended) home remedies include Cabbage leaves (cool) , Drink sage tea, Take vitamin B6. Avoid nipple stimulation, as this will trigger milk production. Other ideas: start wearing the tightest sports bra you can , When you shower, face away from the stream: hot water will induce milk supply.
Avatar f tn Is this normal and is anyone else experiencing such? I need reply asap cos google search claimed it might be a breast inflammation a form of breast cancer. Please I need answers... my nurse claimed it was milk forming but I really don't know what and whom to believe.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am hoping you may be able to help me, I went with a woman a one night stand and I swallowed a couple of drops of breast milk, I remember my gums had been bleeding that day, would I be at any risk for hiv from this exposure
Avatar f tn you need to try and get him to latch on properly, easier said than done I know, but keep trying, also by putting him to breast as often as he wants, that will increase your milk, each time you put him to your breast for a feed, also have at least one glass of water
Avatar f tn How early did you ladies start developing milk? Im 18wks 2d pregnant an already have milk is that normal? I haven't had my ultra sound yet but getting it on Thursday, I was also told I may be 2 weeks further than expected because of my cervix measuring a different size. Could this be why I have milk developing?

Avatar f tn My sister in law ate certain foods thug help breast milk grow and she breast her son till he was almost one
Avatar f tn Breast milk is milk. Not like the one we buy From the shop and have on cereal or in our tea. Our bodies produce milk when we are pregnant its the most natural way of feeding our little ones. Of course its up to you weather or not you decide to breastfeed me personally I am going to breastfeed if I can do. Its not as easy as it looks. Our bodies produce enough milk supply for our babies to have a full feed and when they are full they come away from the breast.
Avatar f tn The more the baby nurses the more milk you will produce. If your supplementing her after you you nurse you should pump both sides for 10-15 minutes after - even if you are not getting any milk when you pump. The stimulation of pumping will eventually increase your milk supply. If you don't then you will maintain the same milk supply that you have. Or just let her nurse for 15-20 mins each side, even if you think she isn't getting enough that too will increase the milk supply.
