Breast milk eye infection

Common Questions and Answers about Breast milk eye infection

breast

Just wondering how you would know if you had an infection in your breast?! The last 2 days I've had a bit of pain in my left breast. It's more of a dull pain that's deeper in the tissue and when he feeds it hurts a little. Not sure what's going on or what it could be. My other breast is fine. My left one is always slightly larger too so I don't know if I'd be able to tell if it was swollen. I woke up this am and was quite full and it was definitely more painful then too! Any suggestions?
BABY 1 MONTH HAS AN EYE INFECTION HAD IT FOR A MONTH DOCTOR GAVE ME MEDS FOR HIM BUT WANTED TO WAIT AND SEE IF IT WILL GO AWAY ON ITS OWN AND WANT A NATURAL CURE FOR HIM. HIS EYE GETS THIS YELLOW DISCHARGE AND IT COMES WHEN HE CRYS OR SLEEP. SOMETIMES ITS NOT YELLOW IT CLEAR SOMETIMES. I JUST DONT WANT THE OITMENT TO BURN AND HURT HIS EYE. THATS THE ONLY PROBLEM IVE HAD HE WAS BORN WITH IT.
I have the same issue with my little one... she keeps getting an eye infection and I was doing breast milk in the eye a few times a day for a couple of days... it helps clear it up but it's a reoccurring thing... took her to the doctor and she has clogged tear ducts... they gave me antibiotic eye drops to use for a few days and it has a refill... He said it happens a lot with newborns since their tear ducts haven't opened all the way and arent able to drain properly...
If not I think you should go to the walk in clinic. I waited too long with pain in my breast and ended up with a full blown mastitis infection both breasts and a high fever. I was on antibiotics so then I had to pump and dump instead of just try to nurse to unclog the duct.
Sinus, ear, and eye infectionsIf you or your child has a sinus, ear, or eye infection, a few drops of breastmilk will work wonders in clearing it up. Breastmilk has natural antibodies which kill infection without the harmful side effects of synthetic antibiotics, and can be administered as often as necessary without risk of overdose.Makeup removalBreastmilk can be used in place of cold cream to remove makeup and soften skin. Simply rub onto skin and rinse clean.
If you are NOT pregnant--the source of your breast milk leakage/buildup is probably an imbalance of a certain hormone, I think prolactin? Anyway, a blood test could detect that immediately! You also sound as though you may be anemic (deficiency in iron) which is causing your low energy and fatigue. This could also be helped by taking iron supplements. You should get a complete physical and bloodwork.
Has anyone else ever had a blocked milk duct when breastfeeding? I am in agony. At first, I thought the sore boob might be an early pregnancy sign but nope, I am certain now it is not and it is a hard lump. I don't think it is mastitis because I am not red or feverish (and my DD is now 8 months old and is breastfeeding well).
She does need to be seen by a vet because if she develops an infection, it can affect her milk and make it impossible for her puppies to nurse, which is going to leave you hand-rearing two puppies with a bottle. Call a vet first thing in the morning and get her in there tomorrow.
My new born had that and I will put breast milk in a q-tip and I will clean his whole eye around it though not inside the eye and it when away breast milk does miracles
Did you have antibiotics prior to giving birth? You could have a yeast infection IN you milk ducts...I did and the breast pain was excrutiating! BUT it went undiagnosed for almost 2m because I didn't show any signs on my nipples... Your chills etc sound mastitis-ish though... Maybe a day of rest will help BUT if your breasts keep hurting, see a dr... read this and see if it seems like your symptoms...
Breast Milk, beast milk, breast milk, it's the best think for a baby's eye infection. I promise!
You really can't compare the two, there are so many nutrients in breast milk. Formula companies can't even come close to creating anything that can compare.
Even if I put a clean bra, in a few hours it will be smelling strong. Sometimes the smell reminds me of dry breast milk. Like the smell of your bra when you are breastfiding and some milk drips and you do not have a chance to change it within the next few hours. This smell started about 5 yearws ago, probably in the beginging of my pre-menopause.
Too many people who are having sex are coming here and thinking it it HIV or some other common std but tests prove otherwise. Scientists are finding it in all bodily fluids, semen, vainal fluids, breast milk, saliva etc.
I'm worried that if I leave the milk in there it will cause blocked ducts and I'll get some sort of infection, and I seriously can't afford to be ill again right now.
Its not itching around the nipple but the actual nipple where there breast milk is suppose to come out. Could i b pregnant?
It helps you bond with the baby and boosts their immune system. Also, breast milk has alot more vitamins the baby needs. It's all natural and really healthy! That's just my choice. Some women can't breastfeed so they don't have an option. I, personally, feel like it's the right thing to do for my baby. But everyone has a different opinion on it.
Husband complains that breast fluid tastes bad. What can cause this and how can I stop it? I know this sounds gross, but it really embarrasses me to have him think I taste bad. I am not nursing and I am sure it is normal breast fluid, but haven't ever heard of anybody else having this problem.
After reading Carmen42 comments above, I thought this bit of info would be of interest. As you have said her eye problems wouldn't be associated with the breast discharge. However after reading this I thought perhaps the two are connected. Lots of things going wrong with your brain can effect your eyes. Several disorders can cause an abnormal discharge. Abnormal discharges vary in appearance depending on the cause.

My question is this. Does the multiple site sampling change the odds that I have breast cancer?
I have similar problems, but the lump and the pain feels like it is just underneath my left breast. I went to the breast clinic, and they did a breast examination, and determined that I do not have breast cancer. For some reason, I don't believe the doctor. I have had this pain for many months now, and would really like to know what it is. My left breast has one spot, on the side under my armpit where it hurts.
I have muscle spasm in or around the ribs on both sides (in the front under the breast and sometimes in the back at the same horizontal position), it feels like a ball rolling, in that it switches sides. It occurs even at night during sleep, painful enough to wake me. I only know that when I relax and stretch (the side where the knot is) using several positions I have to wait till it goes away, in many cases to have it return in other places described above.
Hi, 9 weeks ago, I had a hand job by a sex worker of completely unknown HIV/IDU status who squirted a few mLs of breast secretions (milk?) directly onto my penis. This was my only risk factor. The next day, I had a sore throat which persisted for 20 days. It did not change in character over the time period. About 10 days after the episode, my appetite was severly reduced, mostly in the morning.
Hi. Since April I have had pain above my left breast. It's not constantly there, but it comes and goes. Sometimes it feels like a burning pain, other times it feels like a cramp. I've also felt it in my armpit at times and it will also creep up over my shoulder. Although I VERY RARELY feel it on the right side, it DOES happen once in awhile. But for the most part it's been my left side.
my four month old has been not eating that good for the past two days he has been refusing the breast he sucks for a like a minute and then starts to cry. i just got me bc change to Ogestrel a wk ago. i am wondering if maybe my milk supply has gone down, maybe thats the cause for him not wanting to eat. i have tryed giving him a bottle and he drinks a little bit but still isnt much he drinks under a ounce. i am worried that hes not getting enough. what do i do.
Actually it helps with acne, type of eye infection a drop or two will help, there are a few things breast milk can help with.
Your breast milk makes antibodies to protect baby. Its not going to hurt the baby to breast feed while sick.
