Avatar n tn My health insurance ghi does not cover breast lift or reduction. I am currently a size 42dd and my breast are sagging. I cannot afford the procedure or do not know exactly what I need if its a breast lift or reduction. I suffer from shoulder pains almost everyday am my doctor only prescribe me motrin for the pain. I really need help and cannot afford it. Is there a list or some doctors that can help me for free in nyc?
Avatar f tn Hi! I had a breast lift done about 8 years ago and i'm currently 22 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I know a lift and reduction are different but I did ask my OBGYN and was told being able to breast feed would depend on if the doctor severed or removed any ducts. You'll find out when the time comes so don't waste your emotions worrying about it right now. Plan to breast feed if that's what you want and just be emotionally prepared for the alternative.
Avatar f tn Before I has my two children, I had c cup breasts. I breast fed for a year and now my breasts are back to a c cup but with d cup skin. My areolas are huge! My husband has admitted that they "aren't as nice as they used to be." I'm interested in a breast lift and areola reduction, and wanted to hear some of your experiences. How bad is the scarring and healing process? How much does this typically cost?
Avatar f tn With a reduction, both breast tissue and fat is removed along reshaping the breasts and elevation of nipple position. The decision as to which procedure to select depends on whether there is a need for volume reduction.
Avatar m tn Both breast reduction and Breast lift are about re-positioning the nipple areolar complex to a more appropriate level (above the Inframammary fold), tightening the breast tissue and removal of excess skin. In breast lift, only a small amount of tissue is removed for shaping purpose but in breast reduction, a more significant volume is removed to actually changed the cup size of the breast.
Avatar f tn I went to another consultation and the cosmetic doctor told me that in order to remove bra bulge you must lipo the axillary pad not breast lateral. Breast lateral usually is for a breast procedure such as lift or reduction. I did not have anything done to my breast. Can someone explain me the difference is what was suppose to be my symptoms and the purpose of these procedures?
Avatar n tn hey, i had a breast reduction 12 years ago. with my first i got colostrum five days before delivery. i wasn't well prepared and i gave up trying to breast feed after two days. i didn't know if i was producing any milk and my son was getting anxious to eat, so i gave in. i also have to say i did not have a great support system at the time. this time around though I am determined to try harder.
Avatar f tn breast lift, breast reduction, and breast enlargement (augmentation). Depending on your specific case, one or more of these techniques would be helpful to restore a youthful look to your bosom. Breasts are not stagnant organs, they are always changing throughout life. In a young women they grow and develop. They change each month with the menstrual cycle. Pregnancy affects the breasts as does nursing.
Avatar f tn I had a partial breast reduction done back in 2009, more like a lift than a reduction. I don't think my surgeon cut off my mammary ducts and I still do have some sensation on my nipples. I'm 23 weeks now and I really want to breastfeed when my baby gets here. I so regret doing that surgery now :( is there anyone out there who had success with breastfeeding after having breast surgery (not breast implants)?
Avatar n tn I had a breast reduction done and then implants put in 10 years later. I was unable to breastfeed either one of my kids which I was told would happen because the milk ducts don't always line up. you can always try you just never know.
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction surgery two month ago and my breast looks like rectangle than normal breast. Is there anything can be done or it reshape itself overtime. I heard that it will take 6 months to get the right shape . Please help.
Avatar n tn I cannot excercise because of them and I suffer from rashes and breakout underneath and in between them. I am in desperate need of a breast reduction but cannot afford it and my insurance will not cover the cost. I also suffer emotionally because of them and would like some help. Are their any surgeons who do pro bono reductions or the surgery at a reduced cost?
Avatar n tn My husband and I are thinking of getting pregnant. One thing I'm worried about are my breast. I know it maybe a chance that I can't breast feed. I have one breast that is really incredibly sore even after a year after the surgery. I haven't had a baby before and I know my breast will get larger. I'm afraid they will get bit like before, I was a 36G now I'm a 34D. Do your breast go back down after having the baby even if you don't breast feed? Any advice would be great.
Avatar n tn Dear dee, I have a feeling my reply is late. You sound just like me 8 years ago. I had painful, burning feeling breasts. OBGYN laughed at me, as no cysts, mammo fine, asked if I wanted male hormones....a moron....this went on for a year. Suddenly, my nipple, which was partially inverted (Yeah, Doc was REAL bad) and became blood red. No imaging tests showed this cancer. NONE.
Avatar f tn 6 yrs ago i had a lift/reduction so this really freaked me out. To make a long story short when i went for a mamogram it was actually that my left breast had shrunk. A LOT. i know your thinking how could i not notice but i was too focused on the larger breast. By the way it was the same size it had always been. My left breast is about the size and feel of a baseball. A cup size smaller than the other.
Avatar f tn I am not sure if this is helpful but i have a 10 year old and was a B before the pregnancy and moved up to a large C during and NEVER went back down..... I am now pregnant with my second (9 weeks) and have moved up to a D and kinda dont expect to go back down..... But I guess we will just have to wait and see.... I think it honestly differs from woman to woman depending on thier bodies.......Good Luck!
Avatar m tn If you have had the radiation, you might want to consider that over time the radiation will cause the treated breast tissue to harden and shrink. That may have an effect on size after the reduction. You might want to talk to the docs, including your rads onc.
Avatar m tn OMG I have the exact problem. I am 4 weeks out from bi lateral lift and reduction reconstruction surgery. I had phyllodes tumer cut out a year ago and just had reconstruction surgery. Right breast sore and tender but healing nicely. Under my left breast I have an open wound. Just came from the Dr yesterday and he has me doing wet to dry gauze. soaking 2x2 in saline and inserting in the wound and dry 4x4 over top. I have INTENSE pain, which I never anticipated this far out from surgery.
Avatar f tn For my procedure I chose the mastectomy on my left breast and reconstruct after the surgery and breast reduction on my right breast because I was getting a reduction anyway. I am so scared because the doctor said, they have to look at my lymph nodes and make sure it haven't spread and if so it will require chemo, but if not, I would be ok. He said, some patients may even require radiation after a mastectomy.
Avatar f tn Because I had robotic assisted surgery, the incision was done under the right breast and my surgeon even used the same incision lines that were there from the breast reduction. I am not a doctor but of course you will have antibiotics and if your doctor has ordered a pre-surgical cardiac work up and is satisfied, then I think you will do just fine. I found the breast reduction surgery to be quite easy, well tolerated, no pain, I was up and out the next day, and my recovery was very easy.
Avatar f tn You will get use to them. I went from a 36FF to a 36D. It is quite a shock at first. Just think you will be able to wear cute bras and not have the straps digging into your shoulders. If after a while your still not happy with them you can always have a small implant put in.
Avatar f tn I havd a lot of back pain and thought this would be the answer i was looking for . I was told that my breast were going to be perkey and that i would feel 21 again.. instead my "key hole' is about 3 inh wide with scaring. the left ones points to the left and the right one points right I can were a bra .. i need help please .. this is horrible i have no feeling on either sides .
Avatar m tn m 40, childless (which means ptosis was not due to breast feeding) and had a breast lift 4 weeks ago. Implants were out of the question for me. If you want perkiness a lift, whether the incisions will be concentric, lollipop or inverted T is for you to discuss AT LENGTH with a plastic surgeon. I received an inverted T, which I am not at all happy with because the P.S. that did my breasts did not specify that during my consultation.
