Common Questions and Answers about Breast cancer lymphoma

breast

Avatar m tn An association between lymphoma and breast cancer usually occurs among women with lymphoma receiving radiation to the chest having an increased risk of subsequent breast cancer. This would be more often seen in Hodgkin’s lymphoma not in Burkitt lymphoma. Based on the size of the nodule and your smoking status, the lung finding is probably benign. Proof of its status however, is usually through stability observed with subsequent monitoring intervals. Keep your spirits up.
Avatar f tn Is there a "typical" presentation of Breast Cancer in Hodgkins Lymphoma patients who have received mantle & axillary radiation? Is DCIS in such a patient more likely to become invasive than in the general population?
Avatar n tn Is it normal for the CA 15-3 to be elevated even when the lymphoma is not secondary to the breast cancer? I understand there are non-cancerous conditions that can elevate CA 15-3 levels, but can the presence of lymphoma elevate the level as well, or is it possible her cancer is secondary to breast cancer? Thank you for your opinion.
907672 tn?1381025723 He also said he was basically stumped because this is not breast cancer but it is presenting on the breast. He said he has never seen this before. Has anyone heard of lymphoma presenting on the breast? From what I have read lymphoma is not easy to diagnose. If this does come back as lymphoma, how certain can they be that the diagnoses is right? Is there a lot of room for error? Should I get a second opinion?

463982 tn?1242663639 I also have Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. What are the rates or odds of getting breast cancer and having NHL? Or are there Lymphnodes in my breasts that could be affected? I have looked up the lymphnode chart but having trouble being able to tell if the nodes are in the breast or not. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. Since you do not have any other symptoms, and since you do not have a lump in your breast (in males it almost always is taken as cancer), chances of cancer are less. Hence other possibilities should be considered.
463982 tn?1242663639 The lump in your breast may or may not be related to lymphoma. Lymphomas can also involve the breast and will present as a breast lump. Both benign and malignant conditions can present with lump in the breast. Biopsy may be needed in order to have a definite diagnosis. I agree with your decision to seek consult with your doctor for further evaluation and management. Please do post your updates. Good luck to you.
158939 tn?1274915197 Therefore, much of her body had to be protected from excessive heat exposure. But, if the Cancer is isolated... say, like if one is dealing with Breast Cancer... then, of course, the breast(s) would be the primary areas to protect from direct heat contact. Anyway, I hope that I've been able to give you a few helpful insights. Take care and good luck with your upcoming biopsy. I hope that your pathology report returns with favorable results.
1768944 tn?1313907883 You asked me about whether I actually have breast cancer or lymphoma. I have lymphoma that was presenting in the breast, if that makes sense. Different kinds of cancers look different under the microscope. They found lymphoma cells in my breast, and later a tumor that sits near my throat and possibly one on my liver (although this is debatable between doctors).
Avatar f tn Had breast cancer - lumpectomy on right breast. Found out I had non Hodgkin’s lymphoma after sentinel nodal biopsy at same time ( right side) this was 2013. Feeling smal nodule infer right nipple. Don’t know if is normal tissue or reoccurrence. I have appointment on Monday , 10/25, but anxious. Any input appreciated.
1644310 tn?1301071071 Now i still have the swollen nodes in my neck and my arm pit and the one in breast feels a little larger and have no other symptoms. Is a breast specialist who i need to see? I am only 28, Breast cancer and lymphoma are both in my family and I feel confused and disregarded. Avatar n tn Ruled out Familial type of hypercalcemia, ruled out multiple myeloma as well as pancreatic cancer, thyroid and parathyroid cancer, bone cancer, chest cancer. His spleen is enlarged. There is a small kidney stone and a small cyst on his kidney they weren't worried about. Not of Jewish descent. Feels ok, gets tired quickly but he's working hard still. He has appt to see hemo/onco doc soon. Docs seem stumped. Any insights folks?
Avatar f tn the lump is still there. i have family history of cancer but not breast cancer. my father has follicular lymphoma. do i need to worry? how accurate are mammograms for women with dense breasts?
Avatar m tn Although I never suspected Lymphoma during those 3 years, I suspected breast cancer actually as the nodes swelled in my breast). I am not as young as you, but I was 36 when diagnosed. First off, why hasn't a biopsy been done on any of your lymph nodes? I'm suprised the doctors haven't done one by now. This really is the only definitive way to diagnose lymphoma. Have you had any kind of CAT or PET scans?
Avatar n tn If you do have cancer, there are still a lot of chemotherapy options for you even if you have heart disease. One of the drugs frequently used for breast cancer - Doxorubicin - can aggravate an existing heart problem, but this drug can be replaced by similar drugs (e.g. Epirubicin) with less adverse effects on the heart. Another option would be to use classes of drugs which are entirely different from Doxorubicin and which are relatively safe for the heart.
505677 tn?1263948093 t found a mutation for our cancer gene or b) we have hereditary cancer and were unfortunate to get it. We have ovarian, breast, lymphoma, non hodgkins lymphoma and melanoma cancers in our family. We also tested for our children, cousins and extended family. Best wishes and negative results!
Avatar m tn There is a family history of cancer (Grandmother had breast and colorectal and my mother had ovarian and colorectal), but I have had no cause for concern up until about 6 months ago. I got my first ever cold sore and one submental lymph node and my submandibular lymph node blew up. Now the submandibular lymph node shrunk back down, but the submental one did not. I was concerned with lymphoma because lumps just dont show up out of no where.
Avatar f tn And finally, my mother is a 29 year breast cancer survivor and a 25 year lymphoma survivor. We WILL survive. And ladies, it is springtime. May all of you have a beautiful spring.
1529301 tn?1326506785 These generally suggest a cancer of or an infection in the region close by. Examples of these may include lung infection, lung cancer, lymphoma in the chest cavity, or breast cancer. Occasionally more distant cancers may seed these lymph nodes, such as genital cancers or colon cancer. Some benign causes of the swollen lymph nodes above the collar bone (clavicle) can include tuberculosis or sarcoidosis.
Avatar f tn I cannot answer questions for Cervical Cancer,Breast Cancer, or even Prostate or Colon. I try to help where I can. I am still battling post Cancer problems, and if others have these I can relate to it also. Maybe try a forum where there are Doctors are located. Best of luck and my prayers go out to you.
1503643 tn?1311518238 The doctors think I have lymphoma. I have small masses and swollen lymph nodes in my neck, left hip and left breast. but I am also noticing pain and inflammation in joint areas. Some areas have small hot dog shaped fibroids(for lack of a better word) that are painful. I just found very small but painful ones on the anterior of my elbows on the ulnar side. I have had thyroid cancer, stage three. This doesn't seem to be the same.
Avatar f tn Hi, If you haven’t noticed any abnormal features on breast self-examination like a breast lump, nipple discharge or skin changes, I would doubt that the pain you are describing is associated to breast cancer. The pain in your breast could be due to many benign causes like injury to the breast tissue, a pulled muscle, a pinched nerve, Costochondritis which is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone and it could also be caused by an improper posture.
Avatar n tn had mammo and ultrasound. radiologist said not breast or lung cancer. he did find also enlarged lymph nodes under left armpit. then saw surgeon and she also found enlarged lymph nodes by groin. I have zero symptoms of lymphoma. all drs are thinking it can be that. what do you think. all enlarged lymph nodes are on my left side. I have zero history of cancer in my family. had needle biopsy on friday and am awaiting test results. also what causes this?
Avatar f tn My family has a terrible history. My grandmother died at 67 (lymphoma, breast cancer and brain cancer). My mother had a double mastectomy because she was pre-cancerous, and my grandfather on the other side died from lymphoma at 72, I believe. The other complication is that I finally started a subscription for Adderall (20 mg per day) about two weeks ago (a month after the swelling started), so I haven't been eating much.
