Common Questions and Answers about Braxton hicks contractions at six months

contractions

Avatar f tn If your stomach gets hard all over, not just in one spot, it's a contraction. They don't have to hurt. In fact, Braxton hicks contractions typically don't. If they start getting noticeable when you're not touching your stomach, make note and time them if you've had more than four to six in an hour.
Avatar f tn Sounds like braxton hicks as they are not regular.
Avatar f tn Ookay thank you. Can the Braxton hicks jus be on one side of my stomach ?
Avatar f tn Well ive had braxton hicks for about 3 months it i know how it feels,, braxton hicks are more like my stomach tightening but this is tightening plus cramps
Avatar f tn Yes. Depending how far u are could be real or braxton hicks.
Avatar f tn No they will not cause labour. Braxton hicks started at 18 weeks with my son and I didn't go into labour until 40 weeks 5 days. They are completely normal and nothing to worry about.
9726884 tn?1405998315 s just Braxton hicks contractions. Real contractions are painful. BH contractions are normal.
Avatar f tn But mine is simply constipation because in a few days I finally go and I feel so much better, however, the Braxton Hicks (or contractions Im not sure yet) still continue on. Im not sure if the urge to use the restroom has anything to do with Braxton Hicks, but it never has for me with all 3 of mine. When I was in real labor I felt the urge to push and that may feel like the urge to use the restroom to some, but in the case of bh contractions, I don't think so.
Avatar f tn ve heard that Braxton hicks are not supposed to hurt. You may be having real contractions. Braxton hicks is tightening of the belly with no pain from what I remember. I get them all the time I'm 21 weeks. I would lay down and drink some water. If you are dehydrated it can send you into preterm labor. Relax, try not to stress about it. ♡ ♡ ♡ good luck.
Avatar f tn If your almost 38 weeks and labor starts, your doctor probably won't even try to stop it. Just try to relax. The baby might have just dropped and is putting pressure on you.
Avatar f tn Just keep an eye on them. Sometimes braxton hicks can be mistaken for true contractions. As long as they're not getting progressively worse you are ok. Definitely bring it up to your Dr.
Avatar f tn Time them, Braxton hicks contractions will not be consistent and will not get closer together and stronger as real contractions will. Braxton hicks are normal around 19-20 weeks, just your body practicing!
Avatar f tn Braxton Hicks for sure when you start getting the "real" ones you will know because they hurt and just get worse im over due now at 40 weeks and 4 days and i have gotten braxton hicks since 18 weeks and real contractions since 35 on and off but the real ones suck
Avatar f tn 28 weeks ftm...So I've had Braxton Hicks since I was 16 weeks and last Tuesday I was put on bed rest for a week because I had six of them in an hour...well they let me off bed rest this Tuesday even though the contractions were continuing because I wasn't dilated at all. Sent me back to work and every thing...okay so, TMI but me and my Bf had sex last night and it wasn't super rough or anything but afterwards I had AWFUL contractions every few minutes until almost 3am.
Avatar n tn Its just braxton hicks contractions. Totally normal and they will increase as you get closer to your due date.
3138931 tn?1350940318 I know the difference between braxton hicks and contractions so i dont want anyone telling me "its not contractions, its braxton hicks" this is my second child, and i went to the hospital 2 weeks ago for contractions.... anyway, why the heck am i having contractions so early?!?!?!?!?!?! im definitely NOT dehydrated! and all day today ive just been sitting on the couch crocheting halloween stuff with my bf's mom! so i havent done anything to irritate my baby.....
Avatar n tn If my Braxton Hicks contractions are 7 to 9 minutes apart is that cause for alarm? This is my second pregnancy but I only carried my first pregnancy for six and a half months so I do not know what is normal at this point.
Avatar f tn My doc thinks they are real contractions they haven't said anything about Braxton hicks. They have me on a channel blocker to hopefully help slow them down. They are very often about every 10_15 mins.
349463 tn?1333571576 You don't get braxton hick contractions until maybe at the earliest 7 months...usually you get them, if you get them, in the 8th month. What you are feeling is probably your uterus stretching.
Avatar n tn I'm 31 weeks today and I have been feeling the Braxton Hicks contractions for a few weeks now, but a few nights ago, I woke up in horrible pain with the tightening on a Braxton Hicks contraction. Was this a real contraction? Is it tooearly for me to have real cintractions? Could my due date be sooner than expected? Idk what to expect for the pain of a real contraction because this is my first pregnancy. Baby has also been moving around alot lately.
Avatar f tn At least that is what is sounds like. Braxton Hicks contractions are irregular. Well most are anyway I believe. I am sure they could be different for everyone though. Hopefully they are Braxton Hicks! It is still so early for your little baby. Keep us updated please?
Avatar f tn Monitor the contractions for the next hour. If they do decide to continue, I'd contact your health care provider or if easier stop into the hospital. If they do subside, chances are you're having Braxton hicks which is common practices your body will do throughout the 3rd trimester. Goodluck!
Avatar f tn And I've experienced Braxton hicks these were more painful though. Different I tell you.
