506791 tn?1439842983 Hi! I am hungry. My husband made a hummus dip last night, but it is allll gone. He likes to try those "gormet" foods....watches "Hell's kitchen" & all sorts of other Chef shows. He isn't bad at cooking. He is going to a Brewer's game with our youngest daughter's boyfriend. They will have brats, chips, etc. I am going to make a salad, I think. What receipes would you like to share?

So I've been Googling recipes and things but I'm not finding to many. Does any one has some advice about the diet or some amazing recipes? That would be amazing!!
Avatar m tn I would talk to your nephrologist about going to see a dietician. They can help you with meal planning. DaVita is a kidney website with a great recipe booklet and they list potassium in their foods. Even if you don't use the recipes it should give you ideas on what types of foods are okay to use. Like for example they use apples a lot so I imagine they are low potassium. Good luck.

Avatar n tn It is not hard to cook proper foods instead of relying on man-made junk foods. There are thousands of recipes on the iNet which one can follow. If weight conscious and diabetic start by lowering your carbohydrate intake. Eat organic whole grains, vegetables, fish and poultry, and fruits, and lean beef and pork. Avoid foods made with white flour; breads, crackers, pasta and white foods like rice and potatoes as these quickly turn into sugar after eating.

Also, avoid starchy foods like potatoes, rice, and any foods made with white flour - white bread, crackers, pasta/noodles - as these turn quickly into sugar after eating. Otherwise, just start surfing for recipes featuring those items; there are tons of them available. Figure out how many calories each of you requires/day and go from there. I might suggest that you have some blood work done, as well, if you haven't already.
467897 tn?1240251837 I am aware of low proteins, but need to know about dairy, pasta, fresh fruits & veggies - I really need some guidelines so I can feed this poor body as good as possible. I do cook for myself, but due to the fatigue meals often come frozen in a box (you know microwavable "healthier eats"). But please, anyone out there that can recommend foods, recipes, basics???? Maybe someone is aware of a site, or maybe an old forum topic, I am willing to listen to good suggestions.

I have been symptom free for 9 months before this, and then years before that. I am starting to wonder if the baby is putting too much pressure on my intestines thus causing the UC to be worst. Any healing ideas would be appreciated....

225036 tn?1294509400 I am so excited to find a place I can come and talk to others doing the WW diet also. I have started doing WW again and I am having such a hard time staying on track. I do really well during the day. I usually eat 1 point for breakfast (english muffin and peaches sweetened in Splenda). Then for lunch I eat a lean cuisine (points ranging from 6-8), broccoli and cheese (1point), and some kind of fruit. I also try to drink 3-20 ounce bottles of water (I usually put in crystal light).

This is followed by RED grapes. Take a look at the list and you will notice there are pretty common things to add to your diet but do remember to check with your doctor before starting any new diet. Avatar n tn I would suggest looking for whole food plant-based recipes online. There is a huge body of evidence pointing to the ability of the diet to reverse type 2 diabetes and lower cholesterol levels. Give it a shot for a couple weeks and check your blood scores! I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to go on the Miami Mediterranean Diet, to lower my levels. I bought the book, but too many of the recipes don't fit my taste or lifestyle. Exercise and weight loss can also help.
Avatar f tn I also found Hemp Milk at Whole Foods which is completely dairy, soy and salt free, in addition to salt free soups, chicken broth and other quick prep stuff. The diet is extremely restricted, but it's only for a limited time and for a very, very good reason.
