4740177 tn?1358604985 Wondering if there is a way to change the tracking of water to glasses instead of volume - would be much better to add each time I drank a glass/bottle of water rather than in oz. So, I knew at the end of the day, that I drank 8 glasses of water...?
886699 tn?1270779744 I have been told by a Dr. that I might have low blood volume, Is there any tests to confirm this? I feel very tired and have lots of muscle pain, headaches and internal shakiness. He put me on Florinef and salt tablets and electrolites.]\, but now my blood pressure is going up.
Avatar n tn RBC count measures the number of red blood cells in a volume of blood and usually ranges from 4.2 to 5.9 million cells per cmm. RBC decreases with anemia; increased when too many are made and with fluid loss due to diarrhea, dehydration, burns. Hgb measures the amount of hemoglobin molecule in a volume of blood and usually measures 12 to 16grams per deciliter (one-hundredth of a liter) for women. Hgb mirrors RBC results.
Tbd Being dehydrated would make you have less blood (reduced circulatory volume). That would tend toward reduced blood pressure and might even make you feel dizzy when first standing up.
1178850 tn?1269534080 The loss of contractility of the heart caused blood received from the lungs to backup (more blood recieved than able to pump) and fluids leak into the lung tissues causing pulmonary edema. Also, fluids (water) is retained in the abnomen and peripheral extremities. I'm sure your brother's heart was involved because of the fluid buildup.
1591333 tn?1297733419 The body is about 75% water. There is water between the space of cells and water within the cell. On a short term basis the mechanism for a need for water is to provide water to cells from the space that contains water. Vital signs may include postural readings (blood pressure and pulse rate are taken lying down and standing). With dehydration, the pulse rate may increase and the blood pressure may drop because the intravascular space is depleted of fluid.
Avatar f tn The main constituent of blood is water, it makes up most of the plasma. Your body balances your blood volume by adding fluids into the blood stream and this makes it easier for the body to keep pressure normal. If you reduce fluid levels in your body too much, then your pressure will gradually drop as you dehydrate.
Avatar n tn After reading an article on postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, I discovered dehydration leads to low blood volume which causes low blood volume which lowers blood pressure and the heart increases rate significantly to supply blood to the entire body. BINGO! I immediately started drinking 2 liters water (distilled) in addition to my others liquids which were primarily limited to coffee, water with meds and exercise, and a few beers.
Avatar f tn As more sodium enters the bloodstream, water follows to maintain equilibrium in sodium concentration between the bloodstream and tissue cells. As a result, the volume of fluid contained by the blood stream is increased. Which in turn increases blood pressure!
Avatar f tn Remember that your blood volume doubles so you need a lot more fluids than usual to keep from getting lightheaded and dehydrated. Crystal light is okay but I'd ask your Dr. Mine told me to try to avoid artificial sweeteners, which crystal light is loaded with.
Avatar f tn I have the issues just a sort of constipation due to not being able to eliminate it all. We are absorbing lots of water due to increased blood volume. Eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water. I even bought some prunes to put in a smoothie to help make it more of a once a day thing not all day.
Avatar m tn What factors that influence ejaculate volume can be changed? As I get older, both the volume and the projection of my sperm has been decreasing. Can it be changed?
8594632 tn?1410183693 Dehydration can cause low blood pressure, and in general due to the increased blood volume, you can have low BP during pregnancy. Definitely drinking more fluids and resting with your feet elevated will help. Make sure to change position slowly to allow your body time to adjust.
Avatar f tn When I was 18-22 weeks I was having pretty bad dizzy spells, burning never passed out from them. I was told that your blood volume starts increasing at this time and can cause you to feel this way. Keep in touch with the doc. If they say it's elevated blood pressure they should keep an eye on ya. Also drink lots of water...I found that helped me with my dizziness.
Avatar n tn Prior to throwing up I drank maybe 12 ounces of water. The blood was, in my estimate, a few ounces in volume. It also came out of my nose which was fairly odd to me. Did I just tear something or does it indicate something more serious? I'm sure I drink more than some but less than most. It might be worth mentioning that I also drink alot of water - at least 64 ounces of water during the day. Any ideas?
1926656 tn?1334970201 t worry TOO Much because it can also be normal to be more thirsty - your body is trying to build up a higher blood volume by the way, after all!
Avatar m tn Total ejaculate volume is 98% water. Ejaculate volume will be reduced and thicker if dehydrated (not enough water circulating in the body). Avoid dehydrating substances (e.g., alcohol, coffee). Presently, there is no medically proven method to increase ejaculate volume.
Avatar f tn its cause of all the increase in blood volume.... do you have any pain or abnormal discharge.... the baseball feeling that you are feeling could just be pressure of the baby... but if you have any discomfort or discharge contact your dr on monday to get it checked out....
Avatar n tn I am further along than you but have dizzy spells alot. Your vein dilate for increased blood volume for baby. Sometime they dilate faster than the actual increase in your bloods volume causing the dizzy spells.
Avatar f tn 1.Ingesting more water than you need can increase your total blood volume. And since your blood volume exists within a closed system - your blood circulatory system - needlessly increasing your blood volume on a regular basis puts unnecessary burden on your heart and blood vessels. http://www.drbenkim.com/drink-too-much-water-dangerous.
Avatar f tn Its because your body is adding more blood volume and your blood pressure can fluctuate. Just drink lots of water and get up from sitting or laying really slowly. Congrats!!!
Avatar f tn The combination of your blood volume increasing and the sweat your putting out is gonna make you thitsty. Dont give up on the water. I too have days where I can't seem to get water. Just keep drinking..
Tbd When you get dehydrated, 66% of the lost water volume is from the area outside the cells - a water/salt mix. 26% of the lost water volume is from inside of the cells - fresh water. And the other 8% of lost water volume is from the blood. This 8% water loss from the blood thickens the blood and causes the vessels to tighten up to compensate for the water loss.
Avatar n tn Consequently if he is losing a lot of water via perspiration, then he is losing his fluid volume, which will lower his blood pressure, because low volume means low pressure. If he is not experiencing heart palpitations, which can be caused by low potassium, then I would just suggest drinking gatorade while playing golf. Also, is he on a low sodium diet? If so, then that would further put him at risk for hyponatermia. Is he on a diuretic?
