Avatar f tn lol yeah it's kind of a brain teaser sometimes.. Some people count the month they're in instead of the actual completed month. Like say you've completed the 7month last week so you're now 7 months & 1week instead saying you're 8months..
Avatar f tn At 16 weeks I'm going home to Australia it's a 20 hpur flight. I'm worried about it too so made an appointment to speak to midwife about it. From what I've read it's quite safe & the aspirin is to prevent blood clots which are a low risk even when you're not pregnant.

On the other hand there are many cases (especially in warm water) where there are severe brain damage after only a few minutes under water.

Avatar f tn Yesterday I was feeling great! It was 4 pm and I wasn't feeling like I needed my afternoon nap. "Great! " , I thought, "after four weeks I think I'm finally adjusting to this thing. Maybe the rest of the treatment will be better from here on out". Even my head seemed to be clearing up. Brain Fog? Not this evening. So I had my 7 pm mean and opened my little pill case and that's when Wednesday morning's pills had a little conversation with me.
Avatar m tn Yes, but like i said, my lymphocytes, that protect your from such bacterial/viral/fungal etc invaders, are very low. My blood brain barrier is totally exposed. But my White blood cell count was normal, just my lymphocytes are low.

Avatar f tn Because our brain and spinal column is separately by this "blood brain barrier". Keeps critters 'n stuff (that's a scientific term, where I come from) present in our bodies from entering the brain and spinal column. I don't know the answer to that question, though.
Avatar n tn Haha I was told to relax, sit down, drink water and eat if I could. Apparently with our increased blood flow to the uterus, less blood and oxygen goes to our brain, making us feel dizzy, weak, etc. I have days where I'm so weak I can't move and now I finally know what it's from.
Avatar m tn Lately, I've been feeling extremely lightheaded and nausiated. I wake up every morning short of breath and all day it feels like I just can't get enough oxygen. Throughout, the day I'll have heart palpitations and fluttering in my chest (out of nowhere, not caused or worsened by anything like exercise). I'll get these sharp stabbing pains under my arm pits and sharp weird pains in my upper-middle back and chest. It feels like someone is lightly choking me.
Avatar f tn SSRIs work by preventing serotonin from being reabsorbed back into the nerve cells in the brain. This helps prolong the mood lightening effect of any released serotonin. In this way, Cipralex helps relieve depression, panic and fear. In clinical trials, cipralex has been found to be an effective SSRI in the treatment of depression and also in relieving some of the symptoms of fear and panic. It, however, has side effects, as do all medications and will react differently with each individual.
Avatar m tn Hi, How are you? Naegleria fowleri, also known as "the brain-eating amoeba" is a free-living protist typically found in warm bodies of fresh water, such as ponds, lakes, rivers, and hot springs. It is also found in soil, near warm water discharges of industrial plants, and minimally chlorinated swimming pools. It can invade and attack the human nervous system but this occurs rarely. Tap water usually undergoes processing that lessens the risk of acquiring the amoeba.
