535822 tn?1443976780 People with blood type O, for example, will get terribly sick if they are forced to be vegetarian because this blood type simply must have meat. As blood type O is extremely sensitive to high glycemic foods, then going very low on carbohydrates actually works for people with blood type O. This won't work so well with blood type A. They need more carbohydrates and can do alright with more of the high glycemic foods than people with blood type O.
Avatar f tn I have been looking into this blood type diet myself being a blood type O but recently I have become concerned if I suffer manic episodes or am bipolar. Certain periods in my life become notably amazing. Usually when Im relatively lean I find myself with too much energy than I know what to do with! My social life improves dramatically! I quit 2 different jobs during these periods of "high". I almost become contagious during these periods wishing I could feel like this forever!

1085545 tn?1284042254 I am also a vegetarian and found I had to make some drastic changes in my diet, but I am now able to eat a variety of foods and enjoy cooking again. What you need to reduce is your intake of carbs. If you are used to eating a large amount of rice (for me the problem was pasta) you will have to change that.
Avatar m tn I have recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, my fasting blood sugar was 175. I am sure that these are on the higher side of the scale. My doctor adviced me to go retest after 2 weeks of exercise and strict diet control. Hence i completely changed my diet, no sugar, substantial decrease of carbs, relying on vegetables and sprouts or protein contents with additon to the 5-6 KM of walking. After two weeks when i went on re test, it was 140 on fasting. I have not used any medicine.
Avatar m tn Was a very interesting book researched by 2 generations of naturopath doctors, father and son.I never did the diet for my blood type, but nevertheless it made a lot sense to me. Best wishes on your treatment.
Avatar m tn Hi all, I have finished 48 weeks of tx 30 days ago. During tx and for 5 years prior, my chol level has been between 140 and 170. Now, post tx, my cholestorol was 231 when taken yesterday. Here's the question, I am a vegetarian except for some occasional fish. Mid tx, my chol was 166. My diet hasn't changed. Does anyone have an opinion as to how it jumped up 65 points?
Avatar f tn They only give you O type blood if they have to because its a neutral blood type and your body wont reject it.
Avatar f tn ) ut im conserned on the fact that i have O- blood type and My OBGYN did say that on the 2nd time expecting it was more risking... Does any one know more info about this? I realldy didnt get much just the part that my body attacks the baby... So HELP!
Avatar f tn Reason why, the only reason why having o- blood type is a problem is if your baby has a different blood type then you and for some reason your blood is mixed during pregnancy then your body will not recognize it and try to fight it off like an infection. It will create antibodies but those antibodies only happen in second, third, or any other pregnancy in the future.Your body won't make them during your first.
Avatar m tn As a vegetarian you should be getting all your vitamins and minerals from the foods you ate except Vitamin B12 and maybe Calcium (if you have a history of bone disease in your family). Vitamin B12 supplementation you need to take because it comes from meat sources and it not available through vegetarian diet. Calcium supplementation may be needed if your intake is on the lower side depending on what you eat and your bone density.
Avatar f tn Soo my midwife informed me that I'm O-negative which means my blood can't pass thru to the babies blood because my cells will fight against it so at 28 weeks I have to have an injection to prevent this from happening in the mean time if I fall or bang my bump i have 48 hours to get this injection before it can cause harm?? Has any1 ever heard of this ??
6231275 tn?1379901818 I just started a vegetarian diet what would be the best diet for vegetarian to lose weight?
Avatar f tn I had it before and will need it again with this little one. I'm not gonna lie the shot hurt a lot lol. Other than that your baby will be fine.
Avatar f tn If your body senses babies blood and they have a positive blood type your body will try to get rid off the foreign body, the shot prevents this from happening. You and baby are fine now just be careful and they usually give the shot at 28 weeks. Luckily both my husband and I are positive. My mom was negative so she had to go through this with me.
Avatar f tn Want to transition to a vegetarian diet! I am a type1 diabetic for 36yrs and this disease degenerates. What supplementation should I embark to maintain a balance nutritious way to eat?
5889951 tn?1380316047 I was discussing with my sons father who is o negative blood type and I am o negative blood type would my son be o negative as well? If anyone has any info they could share with me I would be very appreciative.
Avatar f tn So I had been a vegetarian for 8 years before becoming pregnant. About five months into it my doctor said my iron levels were too low because I didn't absorb the iron from the vitamin correctly. So to make sure my baby was safe she recommended I eat at least one type of animal protein. She recommended fish since I would also lack omega vitamins without it. So I started eating fish, in moderation of course to avoid mercury.
Avatar f tn Okay so my blood type is o-negative , I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and everybody has been telling me that I'm suppose to get a shot twice so that my blood doesn't fight off the babies blood if he has a different type. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Should I call my Dr and ask?
Avatar n tn Dr. Anita, My dad is 79 years old and has been a diabetic for the last 30 years. Recently, in his blood sugar test, blood urea was 37 (limit 42) and creatinin was +1.0 (<1.2). Is this a positive sign for kidney function deterioration?. He has been on diet most often, however, he tends to eat out at times. He also takes 12ml of insulin both mornings and evenings. As a result, though blood sugar and urine sugar seem to be under control, the blood urea level and creatinin levels seem high.
