Common Questions and Answers about Blood type o the hunter

blood

Avatar f tn They only give you O type blood if they have to because its a neutral blood type and your body wont reject it.
1204700 tn?1271948852 I'm also 0-, it ***** as you can only get 0- blood, yet you can donate your blood to anyone. As for the pregnancy thing, if you have any spotting before you get your Rogam shot you need to see the dr with in 72 hours and get a shot (I learned this with my miscarriage last pregnancy). They give you a shot at the 23 weeks to help so there are no issues with birth, then when you deliver if your baby has positive blood you need another shot with in 72 hours of labor.
Avatar f tn ) ut im conserned on the fact that i have O- blood type and My OBGYN did say that on the 2nd time expecting it was more risking... Does any one know more info about this? I realldy didnt get much just the part that my body attacks the baby... So HELP!
Avatar f tn Reason why, the only reason why having o- blood type is a problem is if your baby has a different blood type then you and for some reason your blood is mixed during pregnancy then your body will not recognize it and try to fight it off like an infection. It will create antibodies but those antibodies only happen in second, third, or any other pregnancy in the future.Your body won't make them during your first.
Avatar f tn it's just a shot. You'll get one if you start to bleed at all, or at 28wks or so, and then after birthing your baby. essentially, it stops the baby's blood from mixing with yours. Because if that happens and the baby's blood type is different, your body will think it's a foreign object, and fight off the baby as if it is an infection and you'll miscarry. The shot stops it, and makes your body think that any blood it detects, is the same type as you.
Avatar f tn Does the baby's father have an RH+ blood type? Then you would need the concern over the shot. But if not, then you would be fine. Here, I am A- and my husband tested as O- so we are all good...
Avatar f tn I had it before and will need it again with this little one. I'm not gonna lie the shot hurt a lot lol. Other than that your baby will be fine.
Avatar f tn If your body senses babies blood and they have a positive blood type your body will try to get rid off the foreign body, the shot prevents this from happening. You and baby are fine now just be careful and they usually give the shot at 28 weeks. Luckily both my husband and I are positive. My mom was negative so she had to go through this with me.
5889951 tn?1380316047 I'm o negative an my be is a negative our daughter is o positive
Avatar f tn Okay so my blood type is o-negative , I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and everybody has been telling me that I'm suppose to get a shot twice so that my blood doesn't fight off the babies blood if he has a different type. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Should I call my Dr and ask?
Avatar f tn There has to have been a crossover of a positive blood group baby into your system before your body starts to attack a positive baby this can be a miscarriage, birth or abortion that wasnt treated with the anti d.
7458937 tn?1391882099 I Was Told I Get A Shot After Delivery And If The Baby Has A Positive Blood Type, She Will Get A Shot. If Babys Blood Type Is Negative, They Dont Need The Shot.
Avatar f tn i have a neg blood type to...an if its the same shot my mom told me about its used bcuz ur body will fight off the baby like it would a cold No worries tho....
Avatar n tn So the only way you or your husband can show type A blood is if you have the genotypes A,A or A,O. And the only way for someone to show type B blood is B,B or B,O. For your son to be B -one of you would have had to have a B to give him. Which means one of you would have to be either B or AB blood type. Either your son isn't yours- switch at the hospital or (not wanting to infer anything) a different father than your husband. OR they messed up on the blood test.
Avatar n tn I have negative blood type and had several pregnancies that I was fine with- one miscarriage and then one other pregnancy after that- he's four months old now. When you have RH negative you will need to get a shot for each pregnancy and after a baby is born, they test their blood type, if they are positive, they give you another shot.
Avatar f tn m Ab-. Lucky me. The rarest in the whole world. About 1% of the world share my blood type. If Ur desensitized(sp) then Im not sure the shot helps. U only get the shot if u bleed in pregnancy, then the 28 week shot and the after delivery. I don't think it prevents miscarriages tho. And my blood never caused me to miscarry.
538330 tn?1232023960 My friend aiza is positive O and her husband is negative O what is the posible blood types of the baby?
Avatar f tn hi all mummies to be, I'm concerned for my blood type and others with the same. This is my second pregnancy but unfortunately my first ended in miscarriage and my gp stated something to do with my blood type fighting against the baby's blood cells because my partners blood is positive. I'm scared it's going to end the same way does anyone else know anything about o neg blood in pregnancy a bit concerned !!
Avatar f tn My blood type is O- and I've heard that this may cause problems for my baby. Are any of you mommies O- as well? What did you have to do in order to keep you and baby safe? And was everything okay? Is your baby healthy now? I just want to know what I need to expect. I am almost 13 weeks pregnant. Thanks.
Avatar f tn im 24 weeks and just wondering how many of you ladies have a nagtive blood type while your babies father has a positive blood type.. im A- and my bf is B+.. and what does the Anti D shot do??
Avatar f tn Ask your Dr :) it's super important for you and your partner to know your blood type of something should happen. It's good to be at the hospital and be able to tell them right then in an emergency.
8274643 tn?1406141596 Well the father is O+ so would it affect the baby that much if we're both an O blood type?
Avatar f tn From what I've read, the baby has to have one of the parents letter type, but the - or + can vary, or cross. It was interesting to study.
3198629 tn?1367038423 Yeah I know that, but the blood type is determined but the mother and fathers blood type.. I just wanna know if I'm gunna need a needle?
1422615 tn?1334064234 Type A carries anti-B antibodies, and Type B carries anti-A antibodies. Only Type AB carries no anti-blood type antibodies, which is why Type AB individuals can receive blood transfusions from anybody." I at first thought that this only applied to o- but several say both o-+ so which is it. My dh is o- , I AM O+. i ASSUMED that we would be fine but now i have had two m/c. firstone my water broke after i broke out in a bad rash 2 days before.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure even if it's true that it has any practical impact on you, however. Type O is the most common blood type, and it's impossible that with the vast number of cases out there that a ton of them aren't Type O, so even if it's less that what would have been expected compared to other blood types, it doesn't mean you are freer to move about the room, so to speak.
Avatar f tn The mother will only start making antibodies if the blood of the two meet (during delivery, or during a trauma in the pregnancy). But since it's a risk for the second baby on, you are encourage to take the shot in every pregnancy - even the first one if the baby is Rh+ and you are Rh-.
