Lil, Before you can get any protection you have to register your complaint with the Department of health and human services, then you have to file a complaint with department of civil rights, then you file with D.O.L.equal employment opportunities, then you file with the D.O.L.under the heading of americans with disabilities act.At that point you can get a U.S. attorney that specializes in labor law that will take your case.
At Stanford where Steve was treated and at UCSF were I am being treated we have the longest wait times in the whole country. Right now at UCSF they are transplant blood type O patients at MELD 40 and higher. That is how desperate the situation is. A MELD of 40 is as high as it technically can get. When you reach 40 you are so ill there is a good chance you won't survive the transplant operation itself.
I've been through a lot and know how frustrating doctors can be sometimes - but like any job - there are personality types, and different levels of expertise. TRY not to take it personally (HARD), and listen to your own body. Just also keep living and being thankful for each day.

well i'm here for the same reason...im 43 and type 1 for 16 years (a late starter) quite simply my short term memory is deteriorating. I was renound for my recall both short and long term but even my daughters have noticed a difference its frustrating....I find myself standing in the kitchen or bedroom having forgot what I went there for in the first place I remain ther for a while hoping it will come to me but it doesnt so I leave only to think of what I wanted to do or get much later.
I would like to bring some pads, just in case I don't like the ones they give me. Is there a specific type that I need to buy? I have a ton left from before I got pg. They are the heavy flow thin Always. Are these ok, or do I need to get something else?
I recently landed a nice job with an excellent health insurance that will cover the surgery (but they want 6 months of doctor supervised diet/exercise recorded). At her first doctor's appointment yesterday her blood pressure was taken and was 150/110. Her doctor said that if some pills don't work she will have to be hospitalized. I'm terrified that she will have a stroke, heart-attack or anuerism, before we get her surgery aproved.
Have you looked up all the side effects of these drugs, and I beat that the Doctors never sent your child to have a EEG done on his brain to make sure that everything is Normal and checked his blood work. The child blood work should be checked every 6 months to make sure that all the drugs they are on is not damaging there Liver and Kidneys.
Jobs that involve invasive procedures and jobs that make it easy to transmit the virus should be avoided. But that is less than 0.1% of the jobs society offers.
at this point since you were only visually diagnosed with genital herpes, you and your partner both should seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to see who has what. it's a darn shame that the ball was dropped on you all those years ago and no one ever followed up to confirm infection and type :( it is cold and flu season. your bf would've had obvious lesions by now if this was due to herpes.
I had an Oral Sex (blow job from a one night stand) no condom was used i believe she is a hooker because in the end she just asked me for money. We had protected sex as well that night. It has been 30 hours and im freaking out can some one tell me if the herpes are spottable within a time limit or do i have to wait 13 days to go get my blood test. please tell me what i should do or check for.
not sure which one as i haven't been back to the doctor's yet. it was certainly a shock. i am guessing it's type 2. after the initial tests that discovered my condition my doctor sent me off for yet more tests something about lipids and something else plus a urine analysis. would these tests be to determine if it's 1 or 2? i've actually had symptons for many years which i never knew why they were happening but seem to be getting worse and more frequent. nausea when drinking juice.
1.1 Type specific testing: Type 1: 1.02 Type 2: .95 So those were not too useful either. Two years of off and and on penis pain is really getting old (as documented in the url listed above). Been to six doctors and no one seem to know what is going on. I guess Herpes is as good of a guess as any. .95 result really throws me off because I would have had to have contracted this a few years ago which would definately show up in a test now. 1.
I am so glad you liked the postings savanha :) I am just glad I am not the only one. DH has finally gotten better about the performance anxiety. WHen we first started a while ago - he would go on and on - it was too much pressure I guess. Wish I had that kinda pressure!! Whatever! UGH. DH has now decided he was an A S S last night (had a cramp from playing soccer - wah - boo hoo you big baby!!!) He yelled at me when I started to cry and asked what the hell was wrong.
thats bull I thought with type 1 you want to get treatment early for better chances of clearing the virus. what do you think ? I asked the nurse howmany hcv patients they treat and she said they have one that justed ended treatment and one on treatment. but the doctor seems very intelligent any advise I can get is greatly appriciated. thank you summer.....
If you find it is faster by 6 beats, you are allergic or have a sensitivity to it. If you have typeOblood, use 4 beats as the criteria instead of 6. It’s that simple. Underlying pathogenic Infections.
I am a 51 year old female type 1a...I will have my biopsy this week and then the gi says that we will begin treatment.I am terrified but this forum has been a godsend for me....these people here are terrific!!! There are alot of us just beginning and as you read posts you will laugh...cry and begin to realize that we are not alone. My typing skills have dimished - my typing speed accurate was 92 wpm - now I'm lucky to type a paragraph without mistakes. So, my motor skills of the hands are getting diminished. Good to see that there is a genetic test for this to rule out or diagnose. Mystenthia Gravis appears not to be what I am experiencing due to no muscle wasting. I may be incorrect, but I feel confident to rule that one out. The ALS I also feel is not likely.
Well since he doesn't know if he has hsv1 or hsv2, it's his job to go and get a type specific herpes igg blood test done to see what his status is. you two can't make educated decisions about precautions until you know which type(s) he has. You too also need testing to see what your own status is. Odds are that even if you've had proper std testing in the past, it hasn't included herpes testing. if you are concerned about contracting hsv2 orally, you can perform protected oral sex on him.
Jess, did they draw blood on the day of your LP? That would also have to be checked for O bands.
And give another push to totally exhale. If you're not asleep at that point, then repeat the s-l-o-w inhaling and s-l-o-w exhaling, concentrating upon doing it slowly and upon taking in as much air as you can, and slowly pushing it all out. Make this your night time ritual, and you'll get to sleep very quickly.
And I would never donate for the Red Cross again if the type of people they hire to do the blood draws were totally oblivious to the fact you were in trouble! It is THEIR JOB to make sure you are OK and they failed quite miserably in your case. Also consider writing a letter to the editor of every major newspaper you can. Hopefully some editor will deem your story newsworthy, which I think it is.
Maybe it was just a fly or a gnat anyway.
It was always assumed because of differences in tissue typing that MS and Type I Diabetes were not associated. But, last summer when I was looking up stuff for Jazzy Fizzle (Where IS she anyway???) I discovered a very good abstract of a study which shows a CLEAR association in females with Type I Diabetes and their first degree relatives, to developing MS.
I saw my new rheumy yesterday, had some blood drawn, and was already e-mailed most of the results. The ANA, ENA, and Hep C must take longer. The reference ranges are a little different than i'm used to, and it doesn't have the telltale H for high or L for low, or C for critical. The ones that are out of range are: Platelet count 425 150-400 Kcu mm Neutrophil % 79 50-70% Lymphocyte % 17 18-42% Neutrophil # 8.4 1.8-7.
needless to say i just got fired from my new job after working 6 shifts cause ididnt know how to peel a banana..sad i know. anyway,my dad keeps insisting that the neuros are correct, and this tumor isnt whats impairing my functioning. i would like to think this tumor is the source of all my pain so i can find a doctor to remove it..although thats easier said than done obviously. also what do you guys think about cyberknife?
I did OPK's and they got darker but not dark enough. Based on blood test results my RE could tell that I didn't o. My temps were really up and down too. You can still get your period and not o.
I'm guessing Karen is back in the Klink again, which is a good thing. If she needed a transfusion, it isn't exactly a quick "hang the bag and turn on the hose" proposition. It can take hours to type and cross, and longer if certain antibodies need to be matched. Then the blood bank has to "make" the blood for the individual patient. Depending on antibodies present, that process can take quite a while.
