Avatar n tn Has anyone had experience with NATURAL diet pill type supplements like Leptitox (bit.ly/leptitoxinfo)? I've previously tried many things including the Keto diet which didn't do much for me. I have read rave reviews and heard from friends who also didn't have results from Keto and other diets that Leptitox helped them immensely. They have a pretty convincing brief on their site. Wanted to ask if anyone has had experience as I'm very cautious trying new things. Thanks in advance!
Avatar m tn My face is red, hot and itchy - could this be due to Diabetes or the medication I am taking? Two years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. My cholesterol and blood pressure are both high (blood pressure has improved this week since my GP increased the Ramipril to 10mg and added Amlodipine 5mg). Does anyone else get a red face?
Avatar n tn Since my MD told me I was prediabetic (109 fasting) I have cut out all sugar but I do eat fruit and use Xylitol and NutraSweet. However my blood sugar is now 116 fasting. Why and what can I do? I do not eat bread very often but I do eat oatmeal in the morning as I have to for IBS. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I dont see many talking about it on here, but have found several positive reviews of the best bet diet. only found 1 that said it had no effect.
Avatar m tn It just went away and i am talking Sulfasalazine daily. Now two years later i am told out of the blue i am type 2 diabetic. Never in my family history. Also thyroid gland not producing enough. Then i was asked about Atorvastatin and these issues especially typ 2 diabetes. Its all over the internet but my doctors don't seem to know much about the possible connection. What can i be told about this and further how does one investigate and gain knowledge to make a good decision.
Avatar f tn I have been looking into this blood type diet myself being a blood type O but recently I have become concerned if I suffer manic episodes or am bipolar. Certain periods in my life become notably amazing. Usually when Im relatively lean I find myself with too much energy than I know what to do with! My social life improves dramatically! I quit 2 different jobs during these periods of "high". I almost become contagious during these periods wishing I could feel like this forever!
Avatar n tn My doctor just told me that I am slightly hypertensive and borderline type II diabetic. She put me on the diet plan for daibetics and I like it. I've been losing weight and getting energy highs then I get the "munchies" for popcorn and BBQ chips. I can't drink fruit juices or anything else except diet soda, water, and diet teas or sugar free Kool Aid. But if I drink the sugar free stuff I get so "gassy" and diarrhea. This part ***** big time.
Avatar f tn If you know the name google it. Like if it was a co sleeper put "co sleeper reviews" you will be able to see peoples opinions. Or even going to the stores website and looking at reviews on there. That is your best bet.
Avatar m tn For others, it significantly slows the progress so that they can maintain on diet and exercise or the addition of an oral med for many years. Normal blood sugars are fasting under 100 and two hours post prandial under 140. People who are non-diabetic rarely go over 120. There is little reason to do random blood sugars, they don't tell you very much; I would suggest fasting blood sugar and then two hours after meals. This tells you how different foods affect you and how high you are going.
Avatar n tn Hi Lizzy, you are still diabetic... completely normal blood glucose is a hba1c of 5.0 or less. Prediabetic is usually considered as 5.7 - 6.5, and diabetic as 6.5. But being diabetic is sometimes likened to being pregnant... whether 6 weeks or 9 months you are still pregnant. So slightly high or very high, is still diabetic. To give you some perspective. Normal blood sugars will typically be < 100 all the time. Hba1c of 6.9 gives you average BG of about 160. Hab1c of 6.
307500 tn?1302116146 Says because I have Clusters of AutoImmune Diseases I most likly have type 1 diabetes. This week He has run lost of test, blood, and heart tests and blood flow. I have been put on every poral pill and it hasn't dropped my BS. MY lst A1C was 7.0, I have been on a very low carb diet for yrs, I think if I weren't my BS would be alot higher all the time. My ? is could I be type 1 because of all the Auto disease and the age of 16 diagnoses?
Avatar f tn I would encourage him to eat fruits, vegetables and lean meats so that he may maintain a healthy diet, that will also be easier on his blood sugar response.
Avatar f tn This would involve evaluation of c-peptide, antibodies, and insulin levels correlated with blood sugar levels. Type 1 is lack of insulin (and needs injected insulin), Type 2 is plenty of insulin, but there is insulin resistance and the insulin is not effective. For Type 2, oral meds may be appropriate. If it is adult onset type 1, it may develop quickly. Therefore, I suggest your read up on syptoms of both type 1 and type 2 and if you develop symptoms then you must go to your Dr.
Avatar f tn To help control your blood sugar (aside from the insulin) you need to adopt the followign for diet and exercise:- 1. Ideally 30 minutes of exercise after each meal. However, this may not always be possible, but do aim at 30 minutes of moderate exercise (brisk walking, stationary bike, swimming, etc) every day. 2. Avoid white carbs. By this I mean white bread, rice, pasta, all candies and sweets and processed foods. Avoid fruit juice. 3.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply. I was planning on adding 3 multivitamins because not all of them contain the same ones. Also I was under the impression that the RDA% is for those without autoimmune problems so I might have gotten this wrong. I don't know if the iron is a non-constipating type or not. It's had good reviews and the reviews don't seem to mention constipation so maybe it's okay. Multivitamin (effervescent tablet) - RDAs are: Vitamin C - 1250% Vitamin A - 87.
1620257 tn?1306321772 I'm very curious about these. It's appealing to me because it's natural and seemingly very healthy. But I'm not convinced it'll actually have any effect on my weight. I found these reviews http://whichacaiberry.com/acai-reviews/ but the response is still very mixed. Can anyone (who's not joined the forum purely to respond to my question!) tell me if they've had genuine results from one of these products?
Avatar m tn i went to the docs 6 weeks ago ,had a blood test done for diabetes and when results came back doc said i dont have diabetes which was good but i have very high cholesterol and he wants me to start 6 months on statin drugs to lower cholesterol...i asked if i could try and lower it naturally and he said no because it is too high and diet ,exercise wont do it i need drugs..
5536886 tn?1455827346 I would look up reviews. I usually look at Amazon if its a product they carry because the reviews don't seem biased. Also there are alot of reviews and you can read the negative ones to see if their review seems valid. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Is diet coke safe during pregnancy? I've heard mix reviews.
1735424 tn?1357433558 I am on week 13 of tx, and 5 weeks with Vic. My white blood count dropped pretty fast, so that I was on weekly Neupogen injections by week 5. The doc said I had an excellent response to Interferon apparently. My hemoglobin started at 14 and by week 12 was down to 10. The doc just reduced my Riba from 1000 mg to 800. I weigh 143 so am right at the borderline and am okay with the reduction as I am past week 12 and have been UND since week 7.
Avatar f tn Does anyone here have experience with the ELISA/ACT testing for delayed food allergies? This is a specific type of testing for delayed (food and other) allergies that supposedly is more accurate, with fewer false positives and greater sensitivity, but the vast majority of the reviews and articles about it online are by the person/company that does the testing. I've had blood tests over the years for over 80 foods and have delayed allergies (aka intolerances) to dozens of foods.
Avatar m tn m not strict on my diet, just watch what I eat and make adjustments when my blood work starts to rise. Keep up the good work.
Avatar f tn since diabetes is linked to other diseases as well, what general tests or physical examinations should she have them done. what special precautions she shud take in her diet like taking high fibre diet is good for her. i have told her to take fish oil by pulse (1000 mg) thrice a week. is that good for her.
647391 tn?1275016633 My fasting blood sugar from a 12 hour fast was 101 and I had AC1 of 6.2%. I see numbers way higher then what I have and yet I have begun Diabetic education with daily monitoring of my blood sugar. Back in 95/96 I was pregnant with Twins and ended up with Gestational diabetes, which was controlled with diet. What do you think?
