Avatar m tn Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days tracked the accomplishments of six Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics as they made the transition from a standard to raw diet. All of the participants showed improvement. Their blood sugar levels dropped and their energy levels improved. Insulin became unnecessary and at the end of the program, test results showed non-diabetic results.
Avatar f tn I have been looking into this blood type diet myself being a blood type O but recently I have become concerned if I suffer manic episodes or am bipolar. Certain periods in my life become notably amazing. Usually when Im relatively lean I find myself with too much energy than I know what to do with! My social life improves dramatically! I quit 2 different jobs during these periods of "high". I almost become contagious during these periods wishing I could feel like this forever!
Avatar n tn I dislike the word diet. “Diet” implies a rigorous, self-sacrificial discipline that’s doomed to fail. Instead, proper nutrition means to focus on achieving food goals of what you should eat each day rather than what you shouldn’t eat.
Avatar n tn I would suggest looking for whole food plant-based recipes online. There is a huge body of evidence pointing to the ability of the diet to reverse type 2 diabetes and lower cholesterol levels. Give it a shot for a couple weeks and check your blood scores! I hope this helps!
Avatar m tn iam hypertensive, dabetic with increased cholosterol level . Provide me with a balanced diet plan for 1500 calories per day?
1889242 tn?1321354938 m sure you a familiar with the China Study, which also presents compelling evidence (you may not consider it scientific evidence) that diet is the cause of many of our modern, primarily western diseases. I suppose I just feel I have an obligation to myself and my family (who are my potential future care givers) to do everything possible to keep myself healthy and mobile so I choose to do both. If diet works I'm thrilled, if meds work, I'm thrilled because I'm doing that too.
Avatar n tn My doctor just told me that I am slightly hypertensive and borderline type II diabetic. She put me on the diet plan for daibetics and I like it. I've been losing weight and getting energy highs then I get the "munchies" for popcorn and BBQ chips. I can't drink fruit juices or anything else except diet soda, water, and diet teas or sugar free Kool Aid. But if I drink the sugar free stuff I get so "gassy" and diarrhea. This part ***** big time.
Avatar m tn For others, it significantly slows the progress so that they can maintain on diet and exercise or the addition of an oral med for many years. Normal blood sugars are fasting under 100 and two hours post prandial under 140. People who are non-diabetic rarely go over 120. There is little reason to do random blood sugars, they don't tell you very much; I would suggest fasting blood sugar and then two hours after meals. This tells you how different foods affect you and how high you are going.
1382889 tn?1505071193 He is an Integrative Medicine doc. I am sure he will be putting me on a Gluten free diet. I am waiting to start the diet for two reasons: 1. It's hard. No wheat, rye, or barley 2. In case he wants to test for actual Celiac disease-tests will be negative, regardless of if I have it or not, if I have already cut out gluten. I definitely believe in this type of medicine.
Avatar f tn Just to be optimistic here, if it's Type 2 diabetes you can in fact control that with diet. Maybe not completely reverse it, but control it to the point where it's as good as being reversed. Heart disease as well if you stop what was stressing the heart can also often be repaired by the body to the point where it's as if it never happened. Obviously, this depends on how out of hand the problem has gotten.
Avatar n tn Hi Lizzy, you are still diabetic... completely normal blood glucose is a hba1c of 5.0 or less. Prediabetic is usually considered as 5.7 - 6.5, and diabetic as 6.5. But being diabetic is sometimes likened to being pregnant... whether 6 weeks or 9 months you are still pregnant. So slightly high or very high, is still diabetic. To give you some perspective. Normal blood sugars will typically be < 100 all the time. Hba1c of 6.9 gives you average BG of about 160. Hab1c of 6.

Avatar f tn I would encourage him to eat fruits, vegetables and lean meats so that he may maintain a healthy diet, that will also be easier on his blood sugar response.
Avatar f tn This would involve evaluation of c-peptide, antibodies, and insulin levels correlated with blood sugar levels. Type 1 is lack of insulin (and needs injected insulin), Type 2 is plenty of insulin, but there is insulin resistance and the insulin is not effective. For Type 2, oral meds may be appropriate. If it is adult onset type 1, it may develop quickly. Therefore, I suggest your read up on syptoms of both type 1 and type 2 and if you develop symptoms then you must go to your Dr.
Avatar f tn To help control your blood sugar (aside from the insulin) you need to adopt the followign for diet and exercise:- 1. Ideally 30 minutes of exercise after each meal. However, this may not always be possible, but do aim at 30 minutes of moderate exercise (brisk walking, stationary bike, swimming, etc) every day. 2. Avoid white carbs. By this I mean white bread, rice, pasta, all candies and sweets and processed foods. Avoid fruit juice. 3.

Avatar n tn My controls are generaly quite good, my Hba1c is below 7, and I am on 4 shots a day (Lantus and Humolog) My diet is restricted to complex carbs white meat, veggies and fruit, and I eat at regulated times. My main vice so to speak is alcohol, I drink around 5 times a week and heavily (8 drinks plus) on the weekends.
6938807 tn?1395163288 Well, the funny thing is about that exerpt, is that the right diet for this is a whole plant base diet that is high in carbohydrates and plenty of plants and fruits. But it is no meat or oils. Which does make you lose weight. You can reverse type II diabetes According to Dr. McDougall, without exception. Maybe you should read his info on www.drmcdougall.com and see what you think and/or read the Starch Solution especially the section about type II diabetes.
Avatar f tn I have decided to change my dogs diet to the Canine Cancer Diet... low carb, high fat, high protein, homecooked. I have already added fish oil supplement (human grade) I squeeze it out of the liquid capsule and the same for Vitamin E. First... I have read conflicting information about the types of Omegas some say you need 3 & 6, while others say not to Omega 6 because it can cause cancer to grow. Omega 3&6 OR Omega 3???
976897 tn?1379167602 Despite of what you can read in the net about regimes to reduce cholesterol, the evidence based knowledge indicates that, what we eat is only accountable for at most, a 20% of our cholesterol figures. the rest is due to liver functioning.
Avatar m tn m not strict on my diet, just watch what I eat and make adjustments when my blood work starts to rise. Keep up the good work.
Avatar f tn since diabetes is linked to other diseases as well, what general tests or physical examinations should she have them done. what special precautions she shud take in her diet like taking high fibre diet is good for her. i have told her to take fish oil by pulse (1000 mg) thrice a week. is that good for her.
