Avatar f tn I had a dentist appointment this morning, The dentist hygienic did a cleaning in my teeth, but unfortunately did not see any plastic wrap in the table for a disposable instrument , so i have doubt that the hygienic reused the instrument, if the dentist hygienic reused the instrument/tools do you think i have a risk to contract hiv virus?

Avatar m tn On the other hand the IOP is changing constantly throughout the day so the difference can be normal (think about how your blood pressure and your blood sugar change through out the day) Lastly like checking blood pressure the technique is also subjective depending on both the person being tested (squeezing or not) and the person giving the test. would not worry about it.
Avatar m tn I am 43yrs old man. Today I have done my blood sugar test by a testing machine after 3 hrs of eating. The result is 112 ml/dl . Is this result is normal ? Is this time 3 hrs wrong ? I am waiting for your valuable reply.
Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.
Avatar f tn At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! Had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, my blood sugar level is 133...how do I deal with this? What has caused this? Doctor is concerned, not frantic about this today, but I am alarmed.
Avatar f tn For anyone that finds this in their searches, it turns out that I actually have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Autonomic testing showed a drop in blood pressure after eating which cause these symptoms!
Avatar f tn Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.
Avatar n tn Today I went to the hospital to check hemorrhoids. Doctors plug in my anus with finger wearing gloves first, then he used a device plugged into my anus. I don't know the instrument is what, he said it was a one-off, but I'm afraid if not, above with blood, I never see clear, I don't know whether it was hollow.A risk?

304573 tn?1345577338 How are you arriving at this conclusion? Are you home testing your blood glucose, or is this random or fasting lab testing results? How long have you been tracking this?

Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar n tn I was told it was probably low blood sugar but that would not explain the numbness or the tingling sensation (and this was probably the worst part). This has never occurred to me before. I had eaten a sandwich for breakfast at about 7 AM and this occurred at about 2:20 PM when I was about to perform. I had been feeling really weak prior to this occurrence but not as badly as I did at that moment.
Avatar n tn How can your blood sugar be 255 at bedtime and fall to 40 at 5:30 am?
640347 tn?1228533326 I am supposed to take my insulin shots 3 to 4 times a day depending on my blood sugar. Please, monitor your blood sugar and take care of yourself so your prediabetes does not get any worse. When yor blood sugar was 150 had you had anything to eat because anything you eat can effect your sugar.
325405 tn?1262290178 Haven't yet been in to see an endocrinologist or a dietary person to talk blood sugar levels and diet. Am having problems dealing with my insurance company who won't even cover my stupid testing strips. They basically are $1 a strip. Expensive. I had gestational diabetes several years ago (gestational diabetes was covered 100% for supplies and visits), so I am aware of how to do all the blood testing and have been doign fine about that.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Presumably you are a health care worker. I trust you have discussed this incident with the infection control officials at your institution. Whatever they advise, I endorse as well. To my knowledge, no health care workers have been infected with HIV in the course of their work unless there was a much more substantial exposure than this one.
709686 tn?1277432159 They usually come with 10 test strips and 10 lancets and instructions, which should be plenty to check your blood sugar throughout a couple of days. Extra test strips can be pricy. If you go this route, most recommend checking your blood sugar first thing in the morning (fasting) and 2 hours after meals.
Avatar m tn m assuming fasting blood sugar] indicates prediabetes. This can be corrected with proper diabetes nutrition, maintaining proper weight and daily physical exercise. Does "pp" stand for postprandial? Without knowing when, or how the 256 mg/dl test results came about your wife should ask the next doctor, preferably an Endocrinologist - a diabetes specialist - for 1. A1c test [HgBA1c, HbA1c] - gives a more reasonable view of the glucose [blood sugar] over the past 3 months.
Avatar n tn This doesn't make sense. If you have low blood sugar, you are a diabetic - hypoglycemic. Did you ask your doctor why he/she feels you have low glucose when your tests say otherwise? For a doctor to come to such a conclusion there must be something going on that's not being disclosed . Call him/her if for clarification.
Avatar f tn Glucose is sugar. They're testing how your body digests sugar during pregnancy.
