Avatar m tn I am 43yrs old man. Today I have done my blood sugar test by a testing machine after 3 hrs of eating. The result is 112 ml/dl . Is this result is normal ? Is this time 3 hrs wrong ? I am waiting for your valuable reply.
Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.
Avatar f tn At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! Had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, my blood sugar level is 133...how do I deal with this? What has caused this? Doctor is concerned, not frantic about this today, but I am alarmed.
296738 tn?1235996403 All the girls that I know that have it are told to keep their blood sugar UNDER 120. We test 2 hours after each meal and once in the morning. We are all told to limit our CARB intake. My nutritionist said don't even bother looking at the sugar content, what matters is how many TOTAL CARBS you are taking in. Carbs turn into sugar basically. So my advice...limit the carbs that you are taking. It is better to be safe than sorry.
1744910 tn?1314199685 I had 5 days of IV solumedrol -- in the hospital, given every 6 hours. I had no problems, except lack of sleep, mostly a result of the hospital noise & 6-hr intervals. I will say that my blood sugar went up several times (I'm NOT diabetic), and I got insulin injections when it happened. I was told this is not unusual with IVSM, so if you get put on it, DO ask for blood sugar (finger-stick) testing. I'm not sure how the testing is handled if you are not an inpatient.
Avatar f tn For anyone that finds this in their searches, it turns out that I actually have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Autonomic testing showed a drop in blood pressure after eating which cause these symptoms!
Avatar f tn Today I got a call that I have to come back asap because the tests came back and they need to do more testing where they will take blood every hour for 3 hours. Can anyone tell me what exactly this means? If the tests that I take tomorrow come back bad, what does that mean? What will I have to do?? Help please!
Avatar f tn Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.
Avatar m tn To reduce your ha1c, you need to avoid foods that raise your blood sugar. in particular this would mean avoiding refined carbohydrates. The best way to see the effects of food on your sugar levels is to test using a home test kit 2 hours after eating. If your levels are really high medications like metformin may also help. However, if your levels are really high you should be working with a doctor to optimise your levels.
Avatar m tn Would checking your blood sugar level 3 hours after a meal be considered "BEFORE" OR "AFTER" a Meal.

452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have not been diagnosed with diabetes. I have been testing my blood sugar at home the last couple of months. I noticed that commonly I would suddenly feel very hungry after 15 minutes of light-to-moderate exercise. This happens no matter how much I eat or when before-hand. An example of a particularly dramatic drop: blood sugar 137 before exercising. After 15 minutes light-to-moderate exercise, it was 85. One time I felt particularly shaky, and it was 65.
Avatar f tn i am not diabetic but for some reason, for the.oast couple weeks i have been monitoring my blood sugar and its all over the place. the highest ive noticed was 281 after a big dinner and 2 minutes later it drops down to 113. any other ones are like, 232, 158 but i dont feel anything weird in my body at all. but my blood sugar when i woke up yesterday morning was 97 that was before breakfast. pls if u know anything about this, give an advice on wut to do.
304573 tn?1345577338 How are you arriving at this conclusion? Are you home testing your blood glucose, or is this random or fasting lab testing results? How long have you been tracking this?
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar n tn i have 3 children with celiac disease. we got in on a celiac study done through the university of california, irvine. we now know that my husband and i and 8 of my 9 children all are DQ2 positive. i don't know why the disease activated in only 3 of my children and no one else---at least not yet. my celiac children are all girls--identical twins that just turned 20 and a 16 year old. they were all diagnosed at the same time 5 1/2 years ago.
490398 tn?1319940717 A blood sugar of 239 two hours after eating is too high. It should be no higher than 180.
Avatar n tn In general, though, any physical activity will help lower and/or control blood glucose in diabetics, and physical activity might show low blood sugar readings in immediate post-activity testing for any person who is not diabetic... In terms of "diagnosing" diabetes, that really is best done with fasting blood glucose levels. (Generally in the morning after not consuming anything except small amounts of water for at least 8 hours).
Avatar n tn How can your blood sugar be 255 at bedtime and fall to 40 at 5:30 am?
640347 tn?1228533326 I am supposed to take my insulin shots 3 to 4 times a day depending on my blood sugar. Please, monitor your blood sugar and take care of yourself so your prediabetes does not get any worse. When yor blood sugar was 150 had you had anything to eat because anything you eat can effect your sugar.
325405 tn?1262290178 Haven't yet been in to see an endocrinologist or a dietary person to talk blood sugar levels and diet. Am having problems dealing with my insurance company who won't even cover my stupid testing strips. They basically are $1 a strip. Expensive. I had gestational diabetes several years ago (gestational diabetes was covered 100% for supplies and visits), so I am aware of how to do all the blood testing and have been doign fine about that.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed at age 58 and I am Type 1 (LADA). How is the Metformin working to control your blood sugar? Have you lost weight? If you have trouble controlling your blood sugar at some point be sure and get your Type checked. I was initially misdiagnosed due to my age.
