Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.

11165184 tn?1429569382 I have my first prenatal visit coming up on Tuesday and I am very nervous about the routine blood work they do. I had it done with my first, but with my second I only did the anemia test at 28 weeks. I have always had an intense fear of needles (my first 2 were unmedicated home births). Has anyone opted out of all routine blood work including the initial ones? How did your doctor respond to it?

Avatar m tn Today I went for a routine blood test to check how my liver enzymes are functioning and renal profile etc, I had my blood taken but there were two issues that concerned me, the first being that the man who took my blood touched the needle directly and that concerned me in a scenario where he had some blood on his fingers and it went on the needle and then entered my bloodstream, and the second concern being that after he took the needle out he pressed on my bare wound with bare fingers with no g

Again, saliva inhibits the virus, and no one has ever been infected by receiving oral sex. 7) Hand jobs, with or without cuts present. HIV doesn’t “live” on hands or other skin. Avatar m tn Your story made me think of a time when I freaked after having a blood sugar test done at a pharmacy. It was part of a help fair and I had it tested for the heck of it and afterwards I was freaking out thinking that the same pin was used on another person. I think I may have even called and asked about it for reassurance. My boyfriend told me that although it was POSSIBLE it is not PROBABLE. I tend to remind myself of these things - in this suituaiton or others alike.

Avatar n tn When we got in the room there was a paper towel already set up with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol , blood tubes for the test and a butterfly needle already out of the package but it did have a plastic sheath covering the needle itself. There was no tube holder in sight though. I asked the nurse why the needle was out of the package already but she did not comment. I was so nervous about my daughter I stupidly let her continue and didn't ask for a new needle.
