I was walking in the flat without shoes For my good luck the sharp object my mom use for getting blood for chcking blood sugar prick me and penetrate my big toe for a minute until I removed . I got wound with bleeding . My mom was hcv +very and received treatment for hcv 10 years back . Any suggestion I know it is risky exposure ? When should I test ? Thank you .

It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.

After the prick, i only a small amount of blood in my finger. I had to squeeze to get more blood. When the needle penetrates into the skin and comes out, will blood be able to stick on the needle. Or is too fast that blood don't stick onto the needle when it comes out.

Today we were makeing some bloodsugar testing to see how much sugar we had in our blood, and every hour we took a needle to prick on our finger so we could get som blood to test it for sugar. But after my second test witout notcing it, i took one of the other persons needle and pricked my finger, and after the lesent i realized i have been in expore to blood, and then i could maybe have cauhgt HIV from this.

HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Your doctor is uninformed and irresponsible to be allowing your blood sugar to go so high without advising you to do anything. As Zoelula said, it is your health. It is up to you. Get yourself educated and get it under control. Else there will be consequences. This is the plain and ugly, but necessary truth!

Have you had a blood sugar test done as that may be a reason if your blood sugar is unstable , you can actually go to a drug store and they will do a fasting test to give you an idea of your blood sugar levels .

When we got in the room there was a paper towel already set up with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol , blood tubes for the test and a butterfly needle already out of the package but it did have a plastic sheath covering the needle itself. There was no tube holder in sight though. I asked the nurse why the needle was out of the package already but she did not comment. I was so nervous about my daughter I stupidly let her continue and didn't ask for a new needle.
