Blood sugar test urinalysis

Common Questions and Answers about Blood sugar test urinalysis

blood-sugar

Avatar n tn My dr has ran blood tests to check my kidneys, liver, white blood cell count, potassium, sodium, sugar and others... the only thing that came back abnormal was my blood sugar BUT it was a last minute test and I was not fasting. I went back and got my finger pricked and it came back just fine. I also had my urine tested that day and I had 250 mgs of glucose in it. It "puzzled" the dr that I had good blood sugar but high glucose in my urine.

Avatar f tn 2-4 According to the American Urological Association, the presence of three or more red blood cells (RBCs) per high-powered field (HPF) in two of three urine samples is the generally accepted definition of hematuria.18-20 The dipstick test for blood detects the peroxidase activity of erythrocytes. However, myoglobin and hemoglobin also will catalyze this reaction, so a positive test result may indicate hematuria, myoglobinuria, or hemoglobinuria.
Avatar f tn Would it of showed up on a blood test if I had diabetes? because I had a blood test in January. But then again I only found out there was sugar in my urine on Friday.
Avatar f tn Urinalysis, The fasting blood sugar result at random(6.1) and the Urinalysis result is okay according to doctor. I already stopped eating sugar or anything that has sugar,i increased my protein intake. The Doc also gave me Nitrofuratoin 100mg 2x a day for 5days. The Frequent urine is still there, sometimes 7times or 8times in 24hours.It seem to be affecting my sex life cos the thought of it seem to be interfering and causing premature ejaculation. I do get aroused and do have erection.
Avatar f tn headaches may not really be due to a sugar problem that needs medicine to treat like diabetes, he may definitely have a little insulin resistance being on steroids, but actually manage his sugars overall just fine due to his compensation in insulin secretion, if indeed the endo did the labs including hba1c, insulin and c-peptide, a fasting blood sugar and urinalysis, this is very very reassuring that you do not need to stress as much about the sugar, rather I would highly recommend that you talk
Avatar n tn I have already taken the blood test and it is the blood test that the doctor say I have high lvl of sugar in the blood. My grandma has diabetes. So what are the chances of me getting it? And is it preventable/curable if detected at early stage?
280692 tn?1277105942 This urinalysis has nothing to do with diabetes. Diabetes is tested by blood test. As for whether you have a UTI, I would recommend asking the doctor who had the test ordered. He should have scheduled you for a follow up or at least a phonecall to explain the results and prescribe treatment.
Avatar m tn i would get your blood sugar checked via a fasting blood sugar and Hemoglobin A1C, and also a urinalysis and BUN Creatinine blood test to check for kidney problems.
Avatar m tn What is your blood sugar and did you test it before eating anything in the morning or did you test it soon after eating (like 1 or 2 or 3 hours after eating)?
568261 tn?1250270162 He thinks he is ok upon examination but is running more smears on blood this week. He also took a Urinalysis test. When we arrived home they called and said that he was +3 of 4 on the protein in the urine. He has an appt to see a Kidney doc. next week. He is also doing a 24 hr urine collect today. My question is ...he ate hunny bun, milk, mt.dew and pepsi some hours before the doc visit. Could this be why the high protein????
Avatar n tn without any glucose. I underwent a fasting blood glucose test which showed a level of 5.3 mmol/l (95.4 mg/dl). today on testing my urine about 30 mins after 250ml of coke and 3 sweet biscuits there was NO glucose in the urine. Can anyone explain why the first test was positive?
Avatar f tn You should get GTT or glucose tolerance test, fasting blood sugar, post prandial sugar done and glycosyltaed hemoglobin measured to know whether you have diabetes or not. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn I have to take a 3 hour blood sugar test I'm nervous and scared :/ for whoever done it before how was it ?
Avatar f tn I have mine blood sugar test in 2 days. I'm so nervous. Any suggestions ...
Avatar f tn I’m not diabetic and I actually test my blood sugar at home and am usually in the 86-93 range fasting. My urine was negative for glucose. I’m 5’7 195. Clinically I’m overweight but I am a weightlifter so I do have a lot of muscle. Can a kidney stone raise glucose levels. I checked again this morning and it was 112 which it’s never been that high.
Avatar f tn At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! Had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, my blood sugar level is 133...how do I deal with this? What has caused this? Doctor is concerned, not frantic about this today, but I am alarmed.
Avatar m tn A complete assessment may be needed to rule out other possible causes like a glomerular (involvement of kidney units) disease. Blood tests for cholesterol levels, fasting blood sugar and determination of blood pressure levels to rule out hypertension may be necessary. A repeat urinalysis may be called for and management may take from there.
6850426 tn?1385499085 When I went to the first rheumatoid dr he did more blood work and a urinalysis which showed protein and blood in my urine. He also said my blood work showed positive for vasculitis and he referred me to a nephrologist to have a kidney biopsy. The kidney dr said a biopsy wasn't warranted at the time because although the dip stick showed blood under the microscope he didn't see any.
Avatar m tn Nothing in your urine suggests that you have an infection. You can get infection ruled out (or confirmed) with a blood-test. Call your doctor and see if they'll perform a blood text and check for infection. I would, however, suggest that you talk to a Urologist about the elevated Calcium Oxalate levels in your urine.
Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
