Avatar n tn Hi recently my BP shooted to 140/90 during that course i was tested for CBC, Renal, Lipid and Sugar. All the counts of CBC, Renal and Lipid are absolutely normal. But my fasting blood sugar was 8.1 which is quite high. Before this test i used BP tablest for 4 days until the test is done. Later from the next day i was tested for Random blood sugar several times for 2 days always the readings are normal the highest shown is 5.2. My doctor not even commented on this.
Avatar f tn the A1c test is done separetly from your cbc. this test gives the avaerage your blood sugar has been running over the past 2-3 months. if that test was normal than speak with your personal care dr and see if you cant get that label of being "diabetic" out of your medical records. your blood sugar was low in the er so that is why they persued it. if you went in with symptoms of being lightheaded, dizzy etc. then a low blood sugar is prevelant.
Avatar f tn A CBC will not tell anything about diabetes. A CBC is a Complete Blood Count. You need a fasting blood sugar, HA1C and a CMP, Complete Metabolic Panel. Many of the symptoms you describe go with diabetes you should be checked as soon as possible. Untreated high blood sugar levels can lead to death.
Avatar m tn From what I have read your glucose levels appear to be within normal ranges, including your Thyroid. Have you had a CBC (Complete Blood Count) with Differential? The CBC includes the following tests; Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, Red blood cell (RBC) count, White blood cell (WBC) count, White blood cell differential count, Platelet count. Usually a CBC is ordered when a patient complains of fatigue or weakness, or has an unknown infection such as UTI (Urinary Tract Infection).
Avatar m tn My doctor gave me a CMP, CBC with difference, and TSH blood test. Would taking prilosec before the blood is drawn cause any mis-readings?
Avatar m tn pick the type, usually a code on the page ordering your blood draw, or ask the doctor for it. Would be like CBC maybe CBC/D, or like TSH. Pick it. Under 'conditions/disease' pick Hepatitis. Hit enter. The link I gave you was for the CBC test. It looks like your test, perhaps ordered a little differently. Having recently started treatment myself, I can't even pretend to comment with authority about your numbers. FWIW though .. I have seven numbers rated Lower. Good news.
Avatar m tn Now I also did several blood test-CBC, thyroid, lipid profile, blood sugar, creatinine, potassium, sodium. Everything is normal except Vitamin B12 level. The range level of the lab was 200 to 850. My test result was 795. Though it is still within range, I think my level is very high in my opinion. I searched internet and saw that high B12 is sometimes related to leukemia and liver malignancies. I again say the CBC is completely normal (Can leukemia be ruled out if I have normal CBC ? ) .
Avatar m tn I would suggest making an immediate appointment and request that they do not only a CBC to check your current blood sugar levels, but also an A1c test that will show what your blood sugar levels have been doing over a period of time. The A1c is important because sometimes with the CBC it may only show a slightly elevated blood sugar, but the A1C may show that your levels have actually been higher over a period of time - and that's when problems with diabetes tend to appear.

Avatar f tn Would anemia cause my gums to bleed?
Avatar n tn "I have had numberous blood tests over the years." Human bodies can change rapidly. As Wave said, go see your doctor asap. The A1c will help your doctor determine whether you are diabetic, pre-diabetic, or normal.
Avatar f tn Strange since I had cholesterol blood work today, and they have already called me to tell me that my 3 month recheck is worse than last time without the doc even reading this report. Does anybody know what the TOTAL CBC blood test even looks for, or what "diseases" if any would show up on it that would be so bad that the staff couldn't tell me results?
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with hep-c and my doctor wants a blood test to determine what kind I have. The test he wants is genotype and cbc. I contacted the lical lab and they want $2,500 for the test. Anyone know where I can get these tests for an affordable cost?
Avatar m tn I have been to my dentist numerous times and he says he doesnt see any bacterial or fungal infections, i went to my primary care physician in july and my blood sugar was high but bloodwork (CBC) was normal. I have been having issues with my mouth since about may, is been dry and my tongue sometimes feels like its burning. This only seems to take place after i eat and lasts for about 2 hours and then back to normal.
541196 tn?1293552936 Hi Do you or anybody in your family related to you by blood have a history of diabetes? If yes, please get the blood sugar test done. Do not worry about your CBC. It is expected with your history. Non-Healing wound or infection can be due to diabetes or due to thyroid problems too. Take care and do keep me posted.
Avatar f tn I have to take a 3 hour blood sugar test I'm nervous and scared :/ for whoever done it before how was it ?
Avatar f tn I have mine blood sugar test in 2 days. I'm so nervous. Any suggestions ...
Avatar m tn Hi, with an A1c of 8, your average blood sugar is about 200. That is high considering that average blood sugar of non-diabetic is 100 or lower. With blood sugars this high, you could be peeing out sugar and this could cause you to lose weight. What meds are you on? Would be better to see if you could get your blood sugars a bit better.
Avatar m tn If my cbc and sed rate test were both normal is it still possible for me to have an infection? I know they only check for the number of white blood cells and any positive would only mean that i would have an infection but is it possible for those to be normal and still have some type of std?
Avatar f tn At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! Had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, my blood sugar level is 133...how do I deal with this? What has caused this? Doctor is concerned, not frantic about this today, but I am alarmed.
Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.
Avatar f tn Since I started treatment my CBC have been all over the place. My blood is tested every month to make sure the meds are not affecting my liver of kidneys. My WBC count has been constantly high since treatment started. My PCP called the other day a referred me to a Hematologist. Everything I look up on the web points to Leukemia. I find it odd that the CBC was relatively normal before treatment.
