Common Questions and Answers about Blood sugar symptoms dizziness

blood-sugar

Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Hi, Your symptom of dizziness was most likely due to high blood sugar. Hyperglycemia can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Please make sure you keep your blood sugar levels under control by dietary control and blood sugar medication. Also make sure you keep yourself well hydrated by maintaining your fluid intake. Keep us posted.
Avatar f tn It could be your blood sugar is high, it could be high blood pressure. Or it could be low blood pressure as well. It really is something that you need to get checked out. Do you hav a state hospital?
Avatar n tn blood sugar of 109 is within normal limits. fasting blood sugar of over 120 is indicative of diabetes. you can ask for a OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test) where she will drink so super sugary drink wait 10 hours and they will test her blood sugar. her symptoms don't match up with diabetes. the big symptoms are that she is almost thristy, always going to the bathroom, always hungry and eating but losing weight. i hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Further, have you ever tested yor blood sugar when you skip a meal? If not, you may get low blood sugar when you get that. When my blood sugar gets low, I have gotten shaky, a headache, etc.. When it comes to drinking, if you don't drink enough water, you might develop a case of orthostatic hypotension, where your blood pressure drops when you stand up and your vision can blur. Not getting enough sleep can make your cognitive functions not do as well.
784382 tn?1376931040 You can discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Dizziness could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems and cervical spondylitis or compression of cervical spinal nerves. All these cause dizziness when you get up from lying down position or when you change position that results in a change in the level of your head. Cervical spondylitis and ear problems also cause dizziness on changing the position of the neck.
Avatar n tn today again he felt quite dizzy strongly for a few secs so he went to get his blood sugar and pressure tested. his blood sugar was 5.7 after breakfast and his pressure was 130/90. my question is what could be the reason for this dizziness? hes completely normal and healthy now. but in the past 6 months he has felth this dizziness 3 times. thanking u for ur help and assistance ... waiting for ur reply.
Avatar n tn Hi Welcome to the forum! There are many causes of dizziness, lightheadedness, passing out, blackouts etc. It is difficult to comment without examination. I am just enumerating the possible causes. You can discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Dizziness could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems and cervical spondylitis or compression of cervical spinal nerves.
Avatar m tn i used betahestine dehydrochloride (Vertigo) for 3 days . No Use. unable to diagnose above symptoms . CBP , BP, Blood sugar are normal. Is it neurological symptoms ? Please provide me valuable suggestion. Thanks in Advance.
Avatar f tn Although the dizziness may also be due to that, you should get your blood pressure checked as high blood pressure or too low blood pressure can cause dizziness too. As you have wide spread osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, I presume that you take some form of pain relief or anti-inflammatory drugs. Ibuprofen which is an anti-inflammatory drug can cause oedema, and it may be that that is causing your problem in the legs. I had a similar problem and had to stop taking the drug.
Avatar f tn You should also check your blood sugar and your blood pressure. Maybe you could get a fasting blood sugar there? and your blood pressure. Don't they have neurologists in Asia? Definitely America has plenty of Neurologists. They also have ENT doctors. When I got severe vertigo they tested me for both seizure, migraine and hearing. I already knew I had the migraine variant by the EEG I had. They say I had high brain wave signals.
Avatar m tn Other causes of dizziness are anemia, GERD, hypoglycemia or low sugar and some endocrine problems. Since you are overweight cervical spondylitis is possible. However since your symptoms are also accompanied by rapid heart rate then chances are that you have either low sugar or anemia or maybe some endocrine disorder. If you have swelling in your legs along with these symptoms then it could be Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS). I think you should discuss this with your doctor.
Avatar n tn Yes I was thinking low blood pressure or perhaps low blood sugar. It could also be an ear /balance problem. Try to eat regularly with some protein with each meal ( maybe smaller meals about 6 times a day with protein). Protein stabilizes the blood sugar if it is low. If it isn't a blood sugar problem you could try takikng benedryl at night and see if this dries up an inner ear problem. It could turn out to be neurological.
Avatar f tn Hello Dear, Diabetes can cause dizziness due to hypoglycemia related to overdose of insulin or other blood sugar-lowering medicines.Fluactuations in blood sugar level also cause dizziness. When a level of sugar required in the blood exceeds or receeds the normal value it causes dizziness .
Avatar m tn Having an imbalance of sugar levels in the body, does not normally cause dizzy turns, but it is still worth getting it checked out. An HBA1C blood test can show the average sugar levels in your blood over a period of 12 weeks. There would be other symptoms of sugar problems, but sometimes there are none. Hope the cause is found soon so that you can get the correct treatment. Best wishes.

Avatar n tn I would highly recommend seeing your primary care physician so that they can run some tests and send you to specialists if needed. I know that i have gotten those symptoms and when your blood sugar is low i feel that way or if you are dehydrated. Again, I cannot stress enough to just take a simple visit to the doc and get a professionals input.
Avatar n tn It is possible low blood sugar could cause these symptoms, but sounds more like high blood sugar to me. Do you test? If you are not diagnosed with diabetes you should see a doctor to find out the reason for your symptoms.
Avatar m tn I am unsure if it was just my health anxieties causing these fears about my blood sugar or if my blood sugar was actually low and that was causing my anxiety and panic attacks. Earlier this week I went to the doctor to ask about the migraines I've been getting after my workouts and had lab work done (unfortunately in the moment I neglected to bring up all these other health worries I've been having and just talked about the migraines).
Avatar f tn You need to get examined to rule out a few things such as low blood pressure, postural hypotension (fall in blood pressure, cervical spinal nerve compression, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), severe anemia, an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), GERD or gastric reflux, and internal ear infections. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar n tn Vision changes and are a symptom of high blood sugar and with your family history, I would suggest having a glucose test done. Other symptoms of Type 2 diabetes (some similar to Type 1) would be extreme thirst and hunger, hard to heal wounds, weight loss, frequent urination, blurred vision, tingling and numbness and itchy skin. A CBC test will show the maturity and count of red and white blood cells but is not the tool used to diagnose diabetes.
Avatar n tn There can be many causes of your dizziness like anxiety, stress, low BP, low blood sugar, poor eyesight, dehydration, inner ear problems like meniere’s disease and benign paroyssmal positional vertigo. Certain medications can also cause dizziness. Are you taking any medications?
Avatar n tn Nausea and dizziness can both be symptoms of low blood sugar, or, as the previous poster noted, high sugar levels. If your glucose levels are running too high, usually the person shows the typical symptoms of unusual thirst and fatigue. If low, dizziness, inability to concentrate, headaches, yawning for no reason, shaking hands, irritability or depression, sleepiness, or a dry mouth or eyes can be present.
Avatar f tn It is more likely that she has a blood pressure problem, a blood sugar problem or Meneire's Syndrome which is caused by fluid in the ears and the equilibrium constantly being off balanced. She should see a doctor to check for these problems. Brain tumor is not always the cause of these symptoms though it could be, but a simple MRI could diagnose that. But I would check for the other problems listed above in the mean time.
Avatar f tn t specific to hypoglycemia. There may be other causes. An intravenous blood sample to test your blood sugar level at the time of these signs and symptoms is the only way to know for sure that hypoglycemia is the cause. It's my guess that's what it was and after you ate the apple you felt better. Please see your doctor just to be sure!
Avatar m tn In this way, the problem of low blood sugar can be solved at the source, otherwise the symptoms of discomfort will recur.
